This is the place for multi-family weekends, friend reunions, and anyone craving a true digital detox: solar light, water from the rain barrels and well, meals cooked in the open-air covered kitchen, and zero light pollution (minutes from Dark Sky Viewing Area). Read in the hammock over the valley, cook over the fire, wander your own trails. Pets welcome. STARGAZING & DARK SKIES You're in the heart of one of Ontario's best stargazing regions, near the Lennox & Addington Dark Sky Viewing Area. With no light pollution and 100 acres of open sky above you, the Milky Way, meteor showers, and constellations come out in full — bring a blanket, lay down, and look up. OFF GRID LIVING, DONE COMFORTABLY: Solar power runs the lighting and keeps your devices charged. Water comes from rain barrels feeding the outdoor kitchen, wash basin, and shower, with a hand-pump well for more. It's off-grid without roughing it — just a slower, simpler rhythm. KITCHEN: Cook under the stars on the covered kitchen deck with the BBQ or propane camp stove, fully stocked with cookware, dishes, cutlery, and essentials — just bring coolers for food. Dine by the fire pit, in the screened dining tent, indoors, or out in the open air. LIVING AREA: Sink into cozy couches with a book on warm afternoons, and gather around the wood stove when evenings turn cool. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS (SLEEPS 12): Three bedrooms with queen beds, plus a loft with 2 double beds and 4 singles — ideal for large groups and multi-family stays. Please note the loft is reached by a steep staircase and may not suit guests with mobility challenges. OUTDOOR SPACE: Acres to roam: walking trails, a hammock overlooking the valley, a screened picnic area, fire pit, birdwatching, and uninterrupted nature in every direction. (Fire pit may be unavailable during seasonal fire bans.) BATHROOMS: An indoor washroom with a waterless toilet, plus a bright composting outhouse with a south-facing view — affectionately known as the "loo with a view." CONNECTIVITY: No Wi-Fi onsite, by design.
