Its a spot to stay, not much more. Beside hwy 17 and railway close. So noisy. Very easy access from the hwy.

I was looking forward to staying at this property on the shores of Lake Superior based on the description and photos. When I arrived, I thought the GPS was wrong. The property appears to be rented by long term RVs. A tenant pointed me to the “Hip Camp” site which was in the center of an open field with no real view of the water, but views of all the RVs. I was totally disappointed and left the property immediately. The host responded quickly and agreed with my request for a full refund.
On the other hand, Rossport and its surroundings are worth visiting. Rainbow Falls Provincial Park is outstanding and is now one of my farvorite parks in Ontario including Neys Provincial Parks east on Rt 17.

Lisa and Harry went out of there way to make us feel at home setting us up with a view of Lake Superior.
We were supplied with fire wood, dry fire wood to boot.
I must have been looking skinny as Harry gave us some of his free range eggs for breakfast, freshest I have had in a year🐣🥚.
Dinner at Serendipity Gardens, great food short walk.
I think things are only going to get better here in the future.

When we arrived we were cheerfully greeted by the host. He showed us where to park. Prior to our arrival he had brought over a picnic table to the site. There was also a fire ring with wood. Nice touch but we didn't make a fire. The site was recently graded, a soft base and very level. The softness did not created any problems with driving out. Sometimes this can be an issue with our heavy FWD campervan. There is a railroad that passes through Rossport but the noise of the few trains that passed by did not disturb us.
The site is in a shallow protected bay of Lake Superior. We were able to launch our kayak the next morning for a beautiful paddle around the nearby shorelines. Saw a loon and the calm, clear waters allowed us glimpse into the depths of Lake Superior.
There are some other long-term campers at this site. They were very friendly like the host. Still being very respectful of our privacy as well.
A very wonderful overnight stay as we traveled our way around Lake Superior.

The directions to Lisa’s place were not very clear. Once we got there, it was a nice quiet location in a beautiful little village.

We stayed here on a long weekend and it was festive but respectful. The water added a lovely view and the location was easy to find. There is a train close by, something to keep in mind if that bothers you, I didn't mind it at all.
