The Love Shack was super cozy and the hosts, Marilyn and Jim, were extremely welcoming and friendly. The Love Shack had everything we could possibly need, pretty much all we needed to do was pack our clothes and food.
Upon arrival, we met with Marilyn and her fuzzy little friend, Maggie (she’s such a playful cutie). Marilyn shared with us some vegetables from her beautiful garden and also had a fireplace put it in for our stay (which we were extremely grateful for) as the place was getting a bit chillier now. And Jim lit us a lovely fire to enjoy in the night so we can keep warm while enjoying the quiet under the stars. Overall, the entire stay from beginning to end was amazing and we would absolutely be going again!

Hicks Haven was everything we hoped for and more. Jim and Marilyn are the kind of hosts who make you feel instantly welcome — warm, generous, and full of local knowledge. Jim kindly stocked our firepit with wood each evening, and Marilyn even shared fresh produce from her garden, which was such a lovely touch.
The trailer itself was impressively well-stocked — cooking utensils, coffee, sugar, and all the essentials were thoughtfully provided, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. We were especially grateful for the air conditioning during a heatwave, and the projector was a total bonus — perfect for cozy movie nights inside when the rain rolled in. One night, with Jim’s help, we even managed to set up the projector by the fire for an unforgettable outdoor movie experience under the stars.
They gave us great recommendations for nearby spots to explore, and the location is ideal — just a short 10-minute drive to the Provincial Park beach, with the park pass included! The off-leash dog area at the beach was a highlight for my little guy, who had the time of his life running free.
If you're looking for a peaceful, well-cared-for spot with thoughtful hosts and all the comforts of home, Hicks Haven is a fantastic choice. We’ll definitely be back!

Marilyn’s campsite is a slice of paradise. The land is stunning, peaceful, open, and full of life. But what makes it truly special is the warmth and kindness of Marilyn herself. She is a generous host, and I felt so welcomed from the moment I arrived.
The fresh zucchini, jam, tomatoes, and cucumber she shared were absolutely delicious… grown with care and love. Every little detail made me feel connected to the earth and to the spirit of the place.
My soul found peace here. Thank you, Marilyn, for creating such a beautiful space and sharing it so openly. I can’t wait to return

What a stunning property with a warm welcoming hostess. We camped over night with tons of privacy and no noise whatsoever.. These two items are extremely important to us so this property was perfect for us. We appreciated that water that was provided and the little fairy lights . We can’t wait to return.

We had an amazing day here. The trailer was cozy and cool, which is great with the summer heat. It was also very clean and neat when we arrived. The beach is only a few minutes away and we were allowed to borrow a Parks Pass which meant we could visit for which was great! Both of our hosts were very friendly and pleasant to talk to, and when we arrived Marilyn was there to greet us and show us around the property. Overall it was a great experience and somewhere that we would love to visit again.

What a hidden gem spot! Marilyn was such a generous gracious hostess. The property is well-maintained with beautiful gardens and lots of space to wander. The bed is so comfortable. It's brand new! Coffee and games and a cool projector for you to use!
There are so many beautiful places to go outside and sit and enjoy the beauty. Delicious fresh veggies from the garden too! Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Upon arriving we were greeted by the ever charming Marilyn. She walked us through the land and showed us all of the little things they've done to make this an enjoyable experience. We were free to do whatever we wanted and had some incredible chats with her as we stayed on the property. During the on-season this place will be even more magical than it was during our stay (which was very inviting regardless). I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a place to unwind. 10/10 would come back here.

I couldn’t ask for more. Privacy, every amenity you could want a need, so much land my dogs could run free and I NEVER let them off leash normally. Vegetable garden, heck even homemade grape jelly! Even with terrible weather we enjoyed every minute of our escape and DEF will be back!

This is an absolutely magical place! Peaceful, clean and close to the beach! The comfortable trailer has everything you need for cooking and relaxing and park pass was an amazing bonus. We stayed in the trailer camping, it was our first time in a rv trailer. Marilyn and her husband were amazing hosts, generous. beautiful and clean well cared gardens, a large fire pit. she gave us a lovely tour and offered us some fresh organic garden vegetables. the trailer is well equipped with everything we need, even included a free pass for the provincial park and beaches. my daughter loved so much. We had a great time. We will certainly be back!

Both Marilyn and her husband were such amazing hosts - generous and very kind. Shared their garden with us. Provided everything we needed. The trailer shack was well equipped with everything. Clean, and was neat and tidy. They outside space we very clean and maintained. The best part about it was the tranquility. Also, special mention that the campfire was lit for us to enjoy!
Really, one of the best places to get away from the city to. And you cannot ask for more generous and lovely hosts.

We stayed in the RV camping option and it was a literal dream!! Marilyn and her husband were beyond welcoming, sharing crops from their garden and even helping us figure out how best to prepare them! They were also the greatest local tour guides helping us navigate the best beaches! The RV is truly stocked with everything you need for a peaceful getaway. A nice range of camp appliances like a toaster oven, microwave, grill, coffee maker and portable stove top. Well stocked dishes, silverware are stuff like that! Comfy linens, hot water, everything to glamp! There’s even an iPod with awesome jams to listen to! We had such a lovely time. We will totally be back!

Marilyn’s property far surpassed our expectations! BEAUTIFUL clean well cared for land with gardens, a ravine, lovely communal fire pit. We were given a lovely tour and offered to make a salad with their fresh garden vegetables. Games on hand as well as seating.
They are wonderful hosts- very personable and friendly, genuinely kind hearted, sweet people. Their precious pooch Maggie is a delight as well!
We wished we could’ve stayed longer, but we will certainly be back!

Camping experience was so good. The land owners were so friendly. The service was nice. Environment and surroundings was so peaceful. There were some veggies to pick up, games to play, camp fire, bbq mechanics etc. Sunrise and sunset view was mesmerizing. Had a great memorable weekend.

It was our first time Glamping and we were very skeptical about everything!
Marilyn and Jim are hands down the best hosts ever! They thought about every little thing, honestly half the items we got from home was not even necessary, from towels to salt and cutlery and utensils everything was available! And the added bonus of having bbq and their tools!
Jim started us the fire even though it was drizzling, such a sweet thing ❤️
Marilyn bought us some fresh eggs to share which was just so unexpected and not to mention delicious!
We bought our large breed dog and omg, he loved every minute of the trip! Honestly i am out of words.
The availability of hot water, cozy beds, electric outlets! Just fabulous!
The privacy was too notch, the whole area was heavenly! Im so glad we got to meet the family pets, which was the highlight of the trip!
Will definitely come again! Cannot wait!

I love the experience of being out in the country but also enjoy creature comforts. I'm not a camper. Hicks Haven was perfect for me and my 11 yr old. It was fairly easy to find. As we drove in, our host Marilyn warmly greeted us. Parking is conveniently right beside the cosy trailer.
The trailer has a really comfy bed, a closet, lots of drawers, flushing toilet, shower with hot water, small fridge, hot plate, plates utensils, coffee maker, pots, pans, basic spices, coffee and tea! There's a comfy couch to lounge on and read if it rains like it did on our last day, and still enjoy the view from it. We played some outdoor and indoor games that Marilyn has onsite.
The property is serene and the view of the sky is unobstructed and *chef's kiss* for a sunset. There's a table and chairs beside the trailer that I sat at to watch the sunrise with some tea, as the birds sang.
We drove 10 min to Port Burwell, walked the Provincial Park trail, had ice cream at the beach, had ice cream, and picked up a bottle of wine for myself.
Marilyn and her husband, Jim, are so lovely. Thoughtful touches were everywhere - fresh picked flowers in the trailer, a bowl of fruit on the table, an extra quilt for chilly nights. Jim started a bonfire for us which was nice to sit around after watching the sunset. My usually reserved 11 yr old loved Marilyn instantly, and invited her that night to sit with us and for smores ❤️

We rented the Love shack on Marilyns property. First of all Marilyn is very friendly, accommodating and flexible when she can be. It is a beautiful and peaceful property with plenty to explore and enjoy
When renting the trailer we had access to a nice new concrete patio with super comfy chairs and a BBQ that that I was delighted to use as I wasn't sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised at just how little we needed to bring. Marilyn thinks of everything. From making sure the potable water is ready for use, all the way down to having everything bagel seasoning for your morning treats. Everything was clean and cozy. We had a wonderful day and evening. She was generous enough to satisfy our urge to plant some chives at home by allowing us to take and replant some of hers. It was the cherry on top. Thabk you Marilyn and Jim. It was a pleasure. Hope to come back and visit again.

We had an instant booking for the day at The Love Stack, and the host Marilyn and James immediately approved it. They both made us feel right at home, which made the experience truly amazing! We enjoyed a beautiful sunset with BBQ and drinks, savoring the conversation and the company. We even met Marilyn’s friend, who was also incredibly kind. It truly was a wonderful evening together.
Marilyn’s hospitality went above and beyond, she all the time make sure that we were comfortable with the stay, also left us fresh fruits and even gave us a tour to her organic farm. We were so grateful when she offered us fresh Arugula, chives and the chance to try some of her amazing herbs and veggies directly from the farm.
The love stack itself was beautifully equipped with everything we needed, providing a peaceful and unforgettable experience. We also got chance to play their paw girl Maggie , she is so gentle and friendly. We highly recommend it!!

I had the amazing opportunity to stay in the cozy guest trailer in a magical location. Located in a backyard surrounded by lush nature, the environment surrounded us with its beauty and tranquility. Welcomed by guests, whose hospitality and friendliness made our stay even more special. The rustic and comfortable caravan welcomed us with all the necessary comfort for a unique experience. Every detail has been carefully thought out, providing a welcoming haven where we feel at home. The nights became memorable moments under the starry sky in front of the bonfire. The proximity to the beach, and especially to Dog Beach, added a touch of joy to our trip. The combination of nature, the warmth of the trailer, the barbecue, the fire and the reception of guests make this refuge unforgettable. We are immensely grateful to our guests for sharing their little corner of paradise with us and for providing us with an experience that we will forever hold in our hearts.

Everything about the place was lovely. The trailer was super clean, comfy and well stocked. The area and garden around the trailer was beautiful. Marilyn was great and it was such a nice gesture to keep some fresh veggies and eggs for us. And she helped us with all sorts of questions and recommendations of things and places around. They even organized a lovely bonfire for us. Definitely one of best hosts and undoubtedly one of the nicest places to stay.
