We had a wonderful stay at the Heartwood Cidery. We chose the Spruce Sanctuary which was more secluded and had a private outdoor kitchen with everything you would need. Val was a welcoming host and provided a complimentary flight of ciders upon arrival, (and enjoyed some live entertainment too)
Serene property, relaxing, a nice easy get away.
Enjoyed meeting the farm animals too! Would recommend staying here :)

Orchard Oasis
My sister and I stayed at Orchard Oasis and it was absolutely wonderful!! Val was super helpful and was always available to answer any questions we had.
We spent a lot of our time playing with the pigs & piglets which were absolutely adorable. Val also let us brush and spend some time with their horse, Sunny.
11/10 would recommend for any animal lovers looking for a beautiful & peaceful vacation!

What an amazing experience! I highly recommend it and would go back every year if I could. Val is such a passionate and knowledgeable farmer who is more than happy to share that knowledge if you're interested. Once we were oriented we could wander around most of the farm, climbing in with the pigs and sheep and walking with the chickens and cats. We were really free to do what we wanted, when we wanted. The outdoor kitchen was very clean with a full stock of appliances and cutlery, with a fridge so we were able to meal prep beforehand. The Cidery is open from 1-5pm on Saturday and we were able to taste some delicious ciders and non-alcoholic sparkling beverages. The tent was nestled between some trees and shrubs and felt quite private. It was spacious and warm once we got under the covers. The outhouse is also not too far and we're provided many solar powered lanterns to take around the farm when we need it. The only downside was there were many mosquitos, but with a bit of natural bug spray and lots of layers of clothes we were able to fend most of them away.
I highly recommend this stay, it was so heartwarming and rejuvenating. We're lucky to have something so amazing close to the populated parts of Ontario.

We had such a wonderful visit. We were made very welcomed. The tents were charming and the bed comfortable. We loved seeing all of the animals (especially the baby pigs). The hostess spent a lot of time answering all of our questions. We enjoyed exploring the property and picking berries. I can’t wait to go back.

Perfect stay for the fall color season, as the sun was with us and brought the glittering lights. The spruce sanctuary was set up very comfortable and clean. We had a wonderful evening using he outdoor kitchen and also got the woodfire to glow. Very friendly people, they were glad to help us with our questions.

We had a great time camping at the Spruce Sanctuary! Very secluded and quiet. We loved the peaceful surroundings and being able to walk around interacting with the animals and taking in the beautiful fall colours. We also enjoyed sitting by our fire with yummy cider! It is a very welcoming place and we will definitely be recommending to friends!

The gentle sounds of the animals, and the care taken in every detail of our accomodations made this place unique. From the apple tree labyrinth to the solar twinkle lights, to the warm welcome, this was a stay infused with love.

This was a FANTASTIC experience! I could not reccomond it more, Val and her family are lovely, and the animals are so friendly and sweet. You are everything you need and more. Highly recommend the apple cider. A perfect escape from busy city living.

It provided a chance to shut out the rest of the world that runs on fossil fuels, cement and pavement and consider how best to treat our plant, animal and human relatives. Val is a passionate and connected educator, and is able to demonstrate the principles of regenerative agriculture in house with respect to the incorporation of animals, and can also use her connections with respect to growing produce.

We loved our stay at Heartwood Farm and Cidery ❤️ A beautiful and tranquil spot to unwind under the stars by a camp fire, drink ciders with the cows and give the farm animals belly rubs and chin scratches. We loved our morning visit at the tent by Sparkle the pig 🐖

My partner and I had an amazing time at heartwood farm. They had everything you need to enjoy your stay, and their ciders were amazing. This was a camping experience without all the work of camping, and a lot more comfort. We are glad we chose the pine tent, we had a lot of privacy but weren’t too far from the farm. We just brought our cooler and were all set. Val and Brent were amazing hosts, and Keiran (who works at the cidery) was great! we will be back! ♥️

Val and Nellie (farm dog) welcomed us when we arrived. Val was really nice to us. Everything was just perfect. Val even helped us set up the campfire.
Reggie and Jeff (2 cats) were too adorable. Reggie spent the whole night with us. All the farm animals were friendly!
We enjoyed our stay 100%. 10/10.

To write the review they ask what went well... well... everything!!! Allow me to start by saying Val is an amazing host. It is a family run business and they are very customer-service oriented. You will feel like home, but with a fire pit way closer. I thought I would need extra blankets, no I didn't. Everything else I brought with us, they have already there. They thought of everything. And it is so carefully maintained. We were not even bothered by mosquitos at night. Unbelievable!!! Oh don't forget to ask for eggs, you will never want to buy eggs at the supermarket again.
We had the most secluded tent. Yes, you can hear road-sounds here and there, but taking in consideration there was an RCMP event in town, there was no surprise and in fact, was less noisy than I expected. Nothing that would take away from the experience at all.
Definitely going back and would recommend everybody to do so.

We had an amazing time starting with the pleasant greeting from Val to the cute piglets that would follow you around. The tent was very well set up and super comfy. Overall was amazing and would definitely recommend.

A Magical Experience
I can't express enough our gratitude to Val, husband and family for a lovely welcome and warmth!
The Heartwood Farm is very easy to find. The site is wonderful! As soon as I arrived wirh my daughter, we enjoyed ourselves in the patio tasting delucious samples of ciders. After having a lovely conversation with Val & family we had a tour of the premises; cows, sheep, hens, chickens, pigs, and 2 cute cats. The day and the weather was spectacular so we had a chance to walk around, get familiar with the outdoor and enjoy nature.
Val showed us the shared space where we can store our food and cook. Everything was perfect.
Our tent was absolutely gorgeous! It had everything we needed. Under a starry night, we had a magical moment around the fire. We needed a place like this to unwind and relax.
The bed and pillows were super comfortable. It was a lovely fresh night so we had a good sleep.
Thank you Val and family for being amazing hosts and kind people.

We stayed in the Spruce Sanctuary tent for 2 nights in August. We had a spectacular time. We were welcomed so warmly by Val (& Nellie the dog, & Reggie the kitty). Throughout our stay (and leading up to it) Val was extremely communicative and helpful. She made our stay that much more special.
We had the opportunity to taste Heartwood's delicious cider upon our arrival, what a great experience sitting out in their wooded patio enjoying cider under the maple trees. We also got to check out their neat farm store.
Our tent was exactly as shown in photos. We had our 7-month old with us and we were able to fit a pack n play in the tent with us and still have lots of room. Having the full BBQ allowed us to cook up great meals without worrying about the timing and maintenance of a fire while also watching our little one.
The property is gorgeous with meadows, forests, orchards and a pond. We fell in love with the Kune Kune pigs and really enjoyed visiting all of the animals.
We wouldn't hesitate to return! We even weathered a couple thunderstorms while we were there and still believe our stay couldn't have been better.

We had a wonderful stay at Heartwood Farm and Cidery. It was a short stay (only one night) but was a perfect getaway for cityfolk like us. The chance to spend a night by a campfire and actually see the stars was just what we needed.
When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Val and Brent, who set us up with a flight of ciders. The ciders were delicious and it was great to taste such a wide variety of flavours (the hot pepper cider might have been our favorite!). We happily bought a couple extra to have by the campfire.
The amenities (outhouse, kitchen, tent) were all very clean and well-stocked. We were able to make a delicious BBQ dinner for ourselves and enjoyed farm-fresh eggs for breakfast. The tent was cozy and clean. The night was a bit chilly, but we were very warm and comfortable.
The highlight of the stay was the farm animals. A few of the pigs roam freely and excitedly come trotting over if you give them attention. The resident farm cats were also a delight. Reggie is the sweetest kitten - hanging around us for most of our stay.
We will definitely be back to visit Val and Brent (and Reggie) again!

This place is by far the most amazing wholesome place me and my boyfriend have ever been!! The nicest people, amazing scenery , the hole vibe of being on a farm and the cider is the best we’ve ever had !! Our first visit made us decide that this place will be our place to come back every summer! We were very sad to leave but so happy we found heartwood it truly is the best place to visit if you like camping even if you don’t , you’ll still enjoy even a night !! Val and Brent along with there children are the nicest most genuine people you’ll ever meet I’m so lucky to have had this experience!!

Our stay at Heartwood Farm & Cidery was incredibly unique and memorable. Val and Brent welcomed us with open arms and answered all of our questions about farm and cidery life. We loved spending time with all of the animals, especially the pigs and Reggie the kitten, and learning about regenerative farming. The tent was absolutely gorgeous and the outdoor kitchen was a great amenity to have. Heartwood Farm & Cidery is a wonderful place to connect with nature while enjoying some delicious ciders (Eve Goes Badass is a must-try). Thank you Val and Brent for your kindness and hospitality!

Val was great to communicate with, and we felt very well orientated with the space once we arrived. Her family was very welcoming and a joy to chat with. We felt like we had a lot of independence exploring the area and the opportunity to join in on the farm. The weather wasn't in our favour for a portion of our time their but we brought lots of indoor activities to keep us busy. Val even supplied a fan that helped keep us cool during the humid rainy time. The farm animals had to have been my favourite part, it was so nice to wake up in the wildflower garden with piggies running around. A truly unique experience and I will have to return again.

The photos are exactly what you will see at Heartwood. Val and her son greeted us when we arrived, the cider tasting was such a treat and a lovely way to learn about their cider. Their shop is filled with items made with local ingredients and there was plenty of time to spend with the animals. The regenerative nature of the farms focus was a delight to experience and you will see bees, butterflies, pigs, cows, llamas, chickens, sheep and their garden (squash, basil, etc.). Brent helped us when we purchased things to go and the family was helpful, personable and extremely engaged in the farm (including their focus on changing the way they farm). The tent was secluded and near the pig family and the outhouse was clean and well stocked. The kitchen is a few steps from the tent and the fire pit had two wonderful Adirondack chairs for lounging. The bed was a delight to sleep on and I had the best sleep listening to the sounds of nature. So many things to share about our stay; will definitely return!

What a unique accommodation! The cute cider house, friendly farm animals, and gorgeous campsite/tent were all highlights of our stay. The Orchard Oasis tent was right beside the orchard where you could walk around and pick and eat some delicious fruit. Val was a great host and showed us around the farm and introduced us to some cute farm animals including piglets, cats, dog, sheep and llama! We felt very well taken care of.
The site felt very private from the other tent near by.
We would love to come back in the near future!

We received the warmest welcome from our hosts Val & Brent! The Spruce Sanctuary tent was secluded and private and the light that shines through the trees is just lovely. The kitchen area that you have to yourself at this tent was shaded and had everything we needed. The outhouse was very clean. The ciders were delicious and we couldn’t resist taking many bottles home :) The farm animals were all sooo friendly. It was really neat to experience and learn about the regenerative farming practises at the farm. Overall, it was a beautiful experience and we will most definitely be back.
