Welcome to your private cabin with forest trails, fields, and stars at night. It's a glamping paradise! Privacy and wildlife only an hour from Toronto.
Your straw bale cabin has a queen-size bed, a cozy living room with a fireplace, a cute little kitchenette on the porch. Your front yard is a private forest courtyard with a big fire pit, cooking grill and picnic table. Solar power for lights and phone charging. Firewood and water for drinking and washing. And it's just a 20-second hop to the VERY clean and private outhouse.
The cabin walls made of straw bales covered with plaster. The deep window sills make it feel like you're in an adobe mud home in Arizona. When we built it in 2002 it was one the first straw bale buildings in Ontario. It's as gorgeous now as as ever.
You are free to explore our 50-acre property. There's a bit of everything here. Trails, forests, fields, meadows, rolling hills, and panoramic views. My wife and I live at the front of the farm property, pretty far from the cabin. So you have privacy, but we're available by text or phone if you need us.
Interested in local food?
Explore our organic vegetable fields, check out the greenhouses, or hang out with our happy chickens and sheep.
Ready for a unique dinner experience?
Rent the pizza oven in the courtyard of our little community centre, just a two-minute stroll from your hidden cabin.

We are at the headwaters of the Credit River. At the top of the property, you can see for miles. Trails connect all the wonders of the property - glorious sunsets, forest walks, wide open fields, nature exploration, foraging, wildlife sightings, and a creek that runs year-round in the upland forest at the back of the property.
Our region boasts amazing cycling for road bikes, the nearby Elora-Cataract trail, quaint shops in the Village of Erin, excellent hiking, local craft breweries, cideries, and more.
No plumbing - water for kitchen and washing is supplied by jugs (potable water) and a rain barrel for washing dishes (in warmer months).
