Camping amidst farm animals!

Maria and Pieter were very welcoming! Our daughter loved exploring the farm, nd helping Pieter collect eggs and feed the animals. We had a peaceful sleep under the stars in the camping field.

Great place to stay

Beautiful property with amazing hosts. They made us feel right at home and we had a great sunset view while enjoying a peaceful fire. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quality place to stay. They even had a few cabins to rent as well.

Sweet Spot in Iroquois

What a wonderfully unexpected delight! We booked at the last minute. Marie and Pieter could be less fussed. So welcoming and warm. They are the kind of folks you are better for spending time with, whether a little or a lot. We were offered our choice of just about anywhere to park. We are boondockers, but a large shower and bathroom are always a nice perk to a place. We were not disappointed. Marie pointed us to a great little spot that was perfectly level and right next to the bath/shower. The tiny house that was adjacent to the bathroom was vacant and we had the chance to sit on the porch and look at the rising crescent moon. The property is beautiful, easy access, and has great hosts. I can only imagine how wonderful this spot would be for a family. Make sure you plan for a longer stay than just over night.

Glamping with animals!

We just loved this site. The hosts were lovely and welcoming. Pieter graciously walked out kiddos through each step of his foresting process in his workshop: how he takes a tree from a living entity to a completed picnic table or home. The bathroom is clean and lovely. They even let us shower and gave us towels since no one else was there (even tho it was not technically included). Maria's garden is practically a botanical garden. Each Mother's Day, her children gift her with unique plants, so you'll find species you've never seen before! The play sets and gazebo seating area were very useful. Also love the nearly off-the-grid style living, with solar panels, etc. Very well thought-out and carefully managed in a friendly, relaxed way. They also have mini-cabins on the property that they Airbnb out that are adorable! There's a very rustic short hike out back that has gorgeous wild mushrooms and other unique plants. Their fire-pits are wind-proof, which was convenient when we stayed. There are even pots, pans, mugs, and an outdoor kitchen! Really enjoyed hearing their stories of immigration from Holland to Canada. The kids liked gathering the eggs from the chickens. We were going to cook them for b-fast, but then it rained, so... And they liked watching up-close as Henry the donkey herded & safeguarded their sheep. So interesting!

Maria and Pieter were both delightful and opened up their farm to us. We enjoyed meeting Henry the donkey that takes care of the sheep and watching the antics of their chickens. One of their cats came visiting us to enjoy head rubs. While drinking coffee looking out over one of the fields we saw a red fox running along. The site is beautiful and is one of our best experiences on our current road trip. We would definitely go back and stay there again without question.

Awesome spot close to nature.

I had an amazing time at this campsite! The hosts were incredibly polite and helpful, making us feel right at home. Our spot was stunning, surrounded by beautiful fields where chickens, sheep, and a friendly donkey roamed freely. The peacefulness of the area was perfect for unwinding, and the sound of the chickens chirping was a lovely bonus. I would highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a serene getaway. Can't wait to come back!

Setting up camp at Maria & Pieter’s farm property was simple and straightforward. We loved spending time among the farm animals and bucolic setting. Maria and. Pieter were generous hosts that graciously answered all my. farming questions. We will keep them as a spot to return.

What a gem!

Maria and Pieter’s land is a rare gem. They have put incredible thought into what they offer their guests. Pieter met us in the dark to guide us to our parking spot for our campervan and he even brought us hot coffee in the morning. We had an excellent overnight stay and will look to book again if we are in the area.

Pieter a été un hôte très accueillant! Nous avions un super beau site très intime juste à côté des poules ! Pieter a été très serviable et s’est assuré que nous manquions de rien ! Nous voulions aller visiter la fromagerie Mais malheureusement elle était fermée mais il est venu nous offrir du fromage !! Très bel endroit à découvrir!!!

The Weekend We Needed

My family had such a great time tent camping here. Pieter and Maria were so nice and thoughtful. Our kids loved helping Pieter collect fresh eggs and enjoyed even more eating some of those eggs that Pieter so kindly gave us. There is a creamery just up the road that they used to own before handing it over to their kids; it has fresh milk, cheese, and ice cream. Unfortunately, however, it is closed on Sundays and Mondays, so we were not able to visit on this trip; maybe next time. One word of advice: bring plenty of mosquito repellent and maybe a battery-powered bug zapper; they can be very bad in May. It was certainly the weekend away from screens we needed and we would definitely come back for another relaxing weekend under the stars.

Maria and Pieter's property was really fun for our kids. They had a play structure, climbing structure, Trampoline, and lots of barnyard animals that the kids enjoyed visiting. It's a really great site for anyone new to camping because it's close to their home so you don't feel like you're alone in the middle of nowhere! We had 3 different families book each of their 3 sites and it was perfect for being together as a group. It would have felt a bit squishy if we had been there with strangers. Thanks Pieter and Maria!

Perfect stop coming into ontario.

Lovely host and hydro and water available as well! Bonus for us was a nice wooded trail to walk our dog and we got to pet the goats and the chickens came over and checked us out too. Not super private if all the spots were full (backs onto their yard) but apparently in dry weather can park in the field away from the house too.

Donkey see donkey do.

We spend 5 days of peace and quiet on Peter and Maria's hobby farm . They made sure we had everything we needed and greated us with kindness, respect and generosity . We had a beautifull spot overlooking the fields through some opening in the trees where we could catch the wind and see the sun set in the distance. Just lovely . Hanging out with sheep

We loved camping in our Rv on Maria and Pieter’s property - the sheep were very calm and so cute. The hosts were friendly and very helpful and gave us fresh eggs - we were offered power and water but did not need it and we stayed with the sheep in the field in a fairly level site - the bathroom available was clean - we will definitely recommend this farm for a peaceful and quiet Rv getaway -

AMAZING!

A HUGE thank you to the hospitality of Maria and Pieter. We booked the site with very little notice (a few hours in fact) due to a previous site not being able to provide an electric hook up and an unexpected turn in the cold weather. When we arrived at the farm we were greeted by Pieter and he was SO helpful. Set everything up perfectly for the RV and then Maria gave us a tour of the farm. The sheep were lambing and we got to meet some very new baby lambs that were adorable. We took a walk about 1km down the road to their son and daughter in laws creamery and purchased the most amazing local aged cheese. Made by themselves!! Overnight the weather was wild but Maria and Pieter were not faced and remained so helpful. We don’t know what we would have done as first time RV-Ers if they hadn’t come to our rescue.

Maria and Pieter made our stay at the farm most enjoyable. The farm is very charming and welcoming, and it was really nice to have the opportunity to visit the farm animals.
