Site 2 - Eagle Lake Narrows Sunset sites
The host were great, greeted us and showed us the site and any other information that we needed. The views of the site were amazing.

Beautiful But Not Private
The setting was beautiful, we have no complaints about the sunsets. The available water, electricity, and picnic table were also much appreciated. Our issue was with the privacy. There is none, despite a gate preventing people from coming into the 3 available camping spaces. The 3 spots are directly behind the country store which seems to be the social hub of Eagle Lake. The store docks which are next to the camping sites were equally busy. From 7:30am - 9:30pm there is a constant flow of traffic and chatter, with people gawking and talking. We felt like zoo animals. The outhouse was designed badly and built on the side of a hill. There are public washrooms about a 5 min walk away, which rescued our stay. If you enjoy being in the thick of things, then this place is perfect for you. We learned that we definitely prefer a more peaceful and private setting.

Highly recommend
Highly recommend. Both for the beautiful setting and great country store it sits near. I camped four nights and the sunsets were amazing. The tall trees really add to the feel of the place. We spotted a bald eagle one morning. The country store makes great pizza, has plenty of ice cream, and you can rent canoes. And if you need something chances are they have it -- very well stocked. Eagle Lake is a great lake to canoe and fish - and all accessible from the campsite. It's also only a short drive to South River and Sundridge.

Beach, lake and pizza
The campsite was perfect for camping with my son. There is water basically right behind the camp sites for boating/canoeing/kayaking, or you can walk across the road and go swimming at the public beach. It's a relatively busy place ( we were there on a holiday Monday so that probably plays into it a lot too) so my son was able to find other children to play with in the water and also on the playground equipment.
The owners also have a general store which carries just about everything you could need. By the time we arrived and set up, it was getting later so we opted to purchase a pizza from them, it was delicious. I would definitely go again and check out more of what the area has to offer. We spent most of our time at the beach or the water behind the sites talking to the ducks and chipmunks.

Grateful 🥲
This was my sister's first camping experience with her 2 kids and I could not have found a better spot than Gill and Fred's camping site!
The lake views, not to mention the beautiful sunsets were the highlights of this trip. The sites are in the perfect location. Forgot something from home? Not a problem, there is a local store a 2 min walk up from the camping site! They sell eggs, milk, charcoal, wood, ice, kawartha ice cream, lottery tickets, home made fries and pizza (to name a few items).
5 min walk to a small clean and sandy beach, great for kids, situated close to playgrounds.
Kayak and canoe rentals are also available on site.
I really enjoyed myself here and would recommend this place to anyone!
Thank you so much for a lovely stay!
