We had an amazing time at Dan's campsite. Dan had been amazing, provided us with warm water, firewood and even had a chance to hangout around the campfire and learn about the site. he also gave some great recommendations of things to check out. Do Check out Crystal Cave which is amazing.

Spacious and peaceful campsite! The leaves were just starting to turn red when we visited, which made it extra pretty. Plenty of drinking water, picnic table, and chairs. Dan is an amazing host — super kind and even helped us get our drone back from a pine tree. Highly recommend!

I cant say enough good things about this place. It was absolutely beautiful. A large open area with a nicely crafted xl picnic table and fire pit. There was water and a garbage can on site. There were lots of trails and bodies of water everywhere. Dan was an awesome host and was more than helpful. My only drawback was lack of cellular service (Bell mobility). But honestly the total disconnect was definitely needed. First time I slept for 8 hours in months. Love love love it and I will be back very soon.

Fourth time to Creekside. I REALLY didn’t want to leave even after 4 nights. Like back country wilderness with the ease of car camping. I camp for the wildlife and Creekside never disappoints!

Such a wonderful place! Den was so kind. he even let us use his kayak and checked on us every day to make sure we were doing well. The area is peaceful and beautiful, and the night sky full of stars took our breath away.
We felt so welcome and relaxed here. Truly one of the best camping experiences we’ve ever had. we will definitely come back again!😍

A pleasure to visit & enjoy a serene camp! A unique place lush with flora while featuring striking traces of local history.
Camp's easy to access & close to nearby sights, trails, parks. Yet removed enough to be immersed in nature. Creekside Camp is truly a site to enjoy in & of itself. The marshland, lake & creeks are stunning, peaceful. Dan has a true respect & care for the plant & animal life native to his property and you'll enjoy the benefits of being surrounded by the aliveness because of it. The scent of marsh plants is exquisite. Tune into early morning birds & pollinators, meet the otters. Sunrise here is breathtaking. Then listen to night on the creek come to life as stars appear & your fire crackles. The splashes of beavers was exciting for me & especially hearing the resident moose walk into the marsh in deep dusk. I was lucky to spot her too! A wander through the wood was fun as well.
Dan is a kind, welcoming host & very generous to share his home. A nice soul to encounter & chat with, who knows lots about the land, local history & area. He provided plenty of water & firewood (bring cash for hardwood). Covered picnic table's a nice bonus for relaxed meal prep & occasional break from mosquitos. Kayaks are free to use to enjoy the surroundings from creek level (recommended!). You could wade in Wendigo- perhaps not a swimmer's lake if that's your thing. Then again, I didn't try it! You should camp here anyway.

Had the place all to myself this time! Was hoping to enjoy the stars, alas the clouds rolled in. The rain although short was incredibly sweet. Made my way up to Seven Lake, saw an old trapper cabin and a moose. Oodles of hummingbirds and raspberries!!! Site 3 has the perfect combo of sun and shade. Dan (as always) is the perfect host!!! I’ll be back in 3 weeks!!!

We loved the campsite. The place was clean and spacious. It had access to a huge lake with a beautiful view. The host was also very friendly and always attentive to us. I 100% recommend the place.

The site was beautiful with a gorgeous view of the surrounding wetlands. The sunset and sunrise were unbeatable! The host was very welcoming and provided us with a bug tent, water, and some firewood. Only downside: the bugs were unrelenting. You definitely need to wear bug gear to be comfortable during this time of the year (July).

The site (site 2) was spacious and the water view was beautiful. Very private and host had water and firewood at the ready. There were lots of flies (horse flies, mosquitoes, and blackflies. The bullfrogs are loud at night. All in all, was a very nice site if you’re prepared!

We spent 4 nights on site #2. The site is large with plenty of privacy. The shelter was a bonus to keep gear dry and bug free. The firewood supplied was well seasoned and easy to burn. It was just a short walk to launch our fishing kayaks in the beautiful Lake. The sunsets are stellar, and the nights are very peaceful. Dan was an exceptional host who would check in daily to see if we needed anything. We had several conversations with him about the area and his knowledge is extensive. The history of his property is also really cool as you can actually walk into a couple of the old charcoal kilns. His sidekick Penny (his dog) was very friendly, and you could see the strong bond between them. We'd highly recommend visiting his place, and we will definitely be back again. Dan is the man!! Cheers!

Stayed 1 night with my boyfriend and pup and this has definitely been our favorite hipcamp stay. Dan was so nice and such an awesome host. Also very accommodating and knowledgeable about the land. Loved the use of the kayaks and the screened picnic table was awesome as well. The scenery was breathtaking so peace full and beautiful. Will definitely be back and will make sure we stay longer! Thanks again!

Lovely spot Dan was very helpful. Private site lots of room, firewood supplies and a screened gazebo with picnic table to protect you from the bugs. Bring earplugs as the bullfrogs get noisy at night. LOL.

Just stayed at this peaceful, nature-filled campsite by a private lake — an absolute dream. The spot was quiet, spacious, and perfect for kayaking. Dan, the host, was super friendly and welcoming. I was completely refreshed by my stay at Dan's peaceful and naturally beautiful camp, and my specific stay at campsite #2. It had plenty of space for tents or a small camper, a sturdy picnic table with welcome dining tent, potable water and a fire ring with plenty of dry firewood. It would be a wonderful camp for any canoeist or kayaker (there are also 2 available), as there is a large lovely lake with access to 5 other lakes. There are also a number of hiking trails in a short driving distance--I would have loved to more of them, vs the one I did, but well worth investigating. The camp is not difficult to find and is a short distance outside of South River, making it nearby for supplies if needed.
Dan is a welcoming, personable and welcoming host and cares about this lovely property and the enjoyment of his guests. Enjoy!

The land is beautiful, and Dan is very hospitable and welcoming. We had rented campsite 1, and when we arrived, he told us we could choose from whichever site would suit us best. He also offered us fresh drinking water, a camp toilet tent, and plenty of firewood. There are trails, plenty of wildlife to encounter and Dan offers kayaking! I highly recommend.

It’s hard to wrap my head around what a perfect situation Dan has allowed us to enjoy on his property. A true gentleman, kind, helpful, knowledgeable. The views, the paddling, the birds, outstanding. Once I get unpacked, I’ll be booking many more days. At triple the price, I would still rush to book time at Creekside. I’m still at a loss for words and hope to leave a more detailed review next time. Dan IS the man!!! The beautiful bug netted picnic table, the perfect firewood combo, we cooked all our meals on the fire pit. The jugs of potable water. Just an amazing host. Can’t wait to return, it was so hard to leave.

Absolute BEST HIP CAMP I have ever been to! Dan is a great host and even better person! I had some great conversations with him. I was also camping at -23C for the first time and he made sure I was safe! His property is beautiful and well maintained. He made sure the path is cleared from snow for me to get to! He provided plenty of firewood for me to stay warm all night! The night sky is AMAZING! I will definitely come back here!

We planned to go up Thursday to Sunday but had some car troubles on the way that resulted in us being very very late. Dan was wonderfully understanding and super helpful.
The site is beautiful. We were pleasantly surprised to find a dinner tent already on the site over the picnic table.
There were a lot of really wonderful thoughtful little touches.
It was very private. The land is beautiful as are the lakes.
Dan and Penny were amazing hosts and I’m so glad we had the opportunity to meet them and I truly hope to see them again soon!
