Northern Nuthatch (Site 5)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 18 ftWelcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best camp site in Canada.
I have 97 acres of very private camping. The land is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. There are miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals.
PLEASE NOTE, campers must arrive by 9 pm at the latest. I will not be able to accommodate campers who arrive later than 9 pm. Please let me know what time you plan on arriving beforehand so I can arrange to meet you.
The sites and trails are maintained during winter months and the forest is quiet and beautiful covered in snow. Guests can snowshoe or x-country ski on the vast private trails. Downhill skiing is not too far. Moonstone/Mt St Louis and Horseshoe Valley are about 15/20 minutes and Blue mountain is about 50 minutes.
The campsites are family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and you can easily drive up to and park at your campsite.
Small campfires are permitted, sustainably harvested firewood is available to purchase! Please add this as an extra at the time of booking or can be purchased at the site. Please do NOT bring firewood to the forest.
Shopping and all amenities are under 15 minutes away! The property is close to Georgian Bay for swimming, fishing, boating/sailing, paddling and beaches. It is also close to the cities of Orillia and Midland/Penetanguishene for dining, shopping, arts, and many historical sites. Historical sites include Fort Ste Marie Among the Hurons, War of 1812 British Naval Establishment, Kings Wharf Theatre, Martrys Shrine, Huronia Museum and more.
ABOUT THE CAMPSITES:
Site 1 is a large open grassy area that can accommodate trailers or RVs, Sites 2, 3, and 4 are large sites that can accommodate six guests in tents or small trailers. Sites 5 and 6 are smaller and are for tents and four guests only. This property is protected as a managed forest and we only want campers who share our love and respect for all the flora and fauna.
Dry firewood is available for $7/bag. Please DO NOT import/bring firewood, the risk of transferring an invasive insect is not worth it. We are inclusive, tolerant and respectful of all wildlife and campers and expect the same behaviour from our guests .I appreciate guests that remove all the garbage that they bring/produce.
I look forward to hosting you and may peace be with you.
