You'll be minutes away from surrounding lakes and trails, while perched on a granite rock at the edge of a forest in Ontario's wilderness - north of Muskoka. Off grid amenities include outdoor shower (summer months only) + wood fired sauna! Lake access is just a short drive away at the end of the road. Other Things to Note: Being an authentic off-grid cabin, there are some unconventional methods of doing things such as using a wood stove for heat, foot pump sink, ice cooler, heated rain harvest shower (summer months only) and a composting toilet. You will be doing all this in Ontario’s back country so it is best to be mindful and you may come across wild animals, and crawling critters so be prepared for some adventure! Off-grid living requires a little more work and care than a traditional cottage, however you can feel good knowing that you've invested in a low-carbon, eco-friendly getaway and hopefully you will gain some knowledge and improve your physical well-being from this experience – and if anything at all leave feeling fully relaxed and rejuvenated!This off grid cabin was custom designed and built using mainly salvaged local and re-used materials in efforts to minimize our ecological footprint, and blend in seamlessly with the natural surroundings. The interior offers open concept living with warm natural woods in a Scandinavian modern aesthetic; furnished with vintage/ custom-made furniture + décor. Limited solar power is available if needed for lighting + recharging. The exterior spaces include a covered screen porch with cedar deck + BBQ area, and various pathways that lead to a dining area with outdoor lighting, sauna, and open firepit area atop the granite Canadian Shield - perfect for star gazing! The private forest trail traverses through the back woodlot and is suitable for hiking + snowshoeing in the winter months.

Amazing experience!

Ahki House: Off-Grid Tiny Cabin

Very lovely spot! Quiet & very tucked away. This made it one of my best hip camp experiences by far, plus the wild life was active saw about 6 deers I think white tailed. Killbear provincial park is 45 min away nice trails & views ! Along with hatchery trail/waterfall. Amazing time! Nice way to end the summer! Thanks David!!
