Dock your boat or beach your canoes on our large, pure sand beach, choose sun or shade as you recline in a hammock or relax in a beach chair, listening to others play volleyball while drinks are served or burgers broiled in the nearby tiki hut (solar powered to charge your blue-tooth speaker and phones) while your favourite tunes drift over the sand and water! The very brave will launch themselves into the river from the epic rope swing!
Your private resort (only one group at a time) is located just a 5 minute drive from Palmer Rapids on the shore of the Lower Madawaska River, You're a 30 minute paddle upstream to the famous Paddler Coop and a 1 hour paddle downstream to the Lower Madawaska Provincial Park - one of the premier whitewater rivers of southern Ontario!
Easy drive (2 hours from Ottawa, 3 from Toronto) with lots of parking just steps from your beach, the facilities and your accomodations.
You are separated from neighbouring properties by dense forest, giving you a sense of complete privacy. The property is generally quiet, but you may occasionally hear equipment from the farm across the river, a truck passing on a nearby road, or fishing boat on the river. You can get a sense of the property location from the satelite view in the photo gallery (property outlined in red)
Five canvas wall tents are spaced discretely along the riverbank, each just a few feet from the river. Four tents have a pair of bunkbeds (sleep 4), while one tent just has a single bunkbed (sleeps 2). All tents are planned for double occupancy, but top bunks can provide for quadruple occupancy if needed. All beds include comfortable mattresses with fitted sheets and fluffy non-allergenic pillow. Each tent has a small covered verandah with chair, as well as screened windows and doors for ventilation, as well as canvas flaps for privacy and more warmth on cooler nights.
We've tried to help make your stay here as easy as possible - we'd call it turn-key camping except there aren't any locks! Just unzip your tent and start relaxing right away. All the campfire wood, barbeque gas, charcoal and hot water is included with your stay! The only thing you need to bring are your sleeping bags and food.
You will be the only group at the property with complete privacy from neighbours. Friendly pet-friendly! There is a cottage on the property, but we generally will not be around when you are, and if we are, will be discreet but welcoming and helpful if requested.
