I loved setting up right on the water's edge. The site is big enough for a family reunion so I was able to spread out. Took my GSD and he was pretty relaxed, which is unusual. Can't wait til my next open weekend to go back for more relaxation time. Thanks Nikki for helping me discover my new favorite spot. You campers better all book your weekends here before I do!!

The porta pottys need regular cleaning. There were spiderwebs, dead and live bugs and very thin toilet paper in all 3 porta potties.

Moondoggie's is one of Ohio's best

Moondoggie's is one of the best tent camping experiences we've had in Ohio. I grew up in Ohio but hadn't been to Adams county it is literally like being in a different state, the rolling hills of Appalachia are beautiful, roads are fun to drive with picture worthy views. Lots of rocks with fossils to be found in the river. The owls at night added so much. The night sky is full of stars and a great place to see the milky Way, no light pollution. A lot of camps you don't experience nature as we did at Moondoggie's. Owls, Hawks, Blue Heron, and Beavers. The night sounds of the owls, frogs, cicadas, and crickets was so relaxing. Our site overlooked the river. The atmosphere was so calm, quiet, relaxing, and very tranquil. The grounds are clean, grass mowed, portapot was clean and odor free. We took a friend who is recovering from brain cancer surgery he said that this was the best camping trip of his life and was exactly what he needed. Our host, Nikki is amazing, she is friendly, energetic, and will go out of her way to make sure your stay is as perfect as possible. This was our first trip of many more to come. I'm a lifelong tent camper and I can say that Moondoggie's is one of the best camping spots in Ohio and if your considering going book your trip you will enjoy it.

It’s a gorgeous spot to be at. Nikki’s super sweet. You can rent a kayak. The water front is a great spot for littles. We have small kids so the water is the perfect depth for them and if you don’t have littles the water gets pretty deep to be able to fully swim. There’s TONS of butterflies there too so we were all just spotting out the butterflies or swimming. It’s a nice little spot to get connected with nature again. My family and I had a blast and Nikki is an amazing host. ❤️

Ohio Hipcamp Gem!!

Absolutely Amazing! I could rave about Moondoggie, Nikki and Jamie for ages. It is a hidden gem in Adam’s County and deserves all the attention it can get. Location of the sites are great! You are overlooking the creek, optimal shade/tree cover, bugs/mosquitos are barely noticeable even though you are close to the water, open grass where your doggo can run and the quiet was sublime. Walking and exploring the creek was so peaceful. Our dog Indy got to swim for the first time and he loved it so much we’d catch him trying to slink off down towards the creek waiting for us to join him. Nikki is just great people and is doing so much for the community. I will tell everyone about this site, Moondoggie, and will be back

Great camping spot right on the water! So peaceful in the evening with a fire crackling and all the sounds of nature around. Nikki is awesome and so hospitable. She was there for anything we needed. Ask her about all the amazing nature to explore all around Adams County!

This spot is a great place to camp. Very private and primitive. The sites are all along the river but from a couple of the sites, you do have to walk a little ways down the way to access the river. Either way though, it’s a really nice place to stay and great stars. The hosts are super duper friendly and loved being able to rent canoes and kayaks right there.

I loved the tent camping at Nikki's land! Nikki's supportive, kinda and helpful! The campgrounds and restrooms were clean. There's nice creek alongside the campgrounds and it's truly an adventurous experience! I loved it!

MOONDOGGIE - A Hidden GEM ✨

Nikki’s property is just absolutely MAGICAL! We booked a MOMs only overnight tent camping trip and even though it stormed a couple of times, it was still an AMAZING time. We got to set up camp inside the building on the property and it was perfect! We stayed warm and dry. Did some fishing, rock hunting/ painting and wildlife watching! Such a beautiful place and such a VIBE. We’re already booking our next trip and CANT WAIT! ♥️

Beautiful spot on Ohio Brush Creek. Our plans changed, so ended up staying with family instead this time, but we visited the large campsite and hope to camp there sometime in the future.

I love staying with MoonDoggie Liveree! Its the best place in southern Ohio to get away from regular life. No matter the season, it’s always beautiful! Nikki and Jamie are amazing hosts! They always go above and beyond for their campers!!!!! Book the trip! Here’s to many more stays from me!!!

Really nice site, spacious and well shaded. Downside if wet would be very muddy. Thankfully was very dry. We had a great time with added bonus of live music one night! Host was amazing and very helpful. Looking forward to using this location again on my adventures on the Appalachian front.

We had a great weekend of camping and fun at campsite#1. It had an abundance of shade trees and huge cottonwood trees to camp under. The view of the creek along with a nice fire was awesome. Nikki is such a great host. We will definitely be back!

I had a great time doing almost nothing for a weekend out on the Liveree and plan to be back again! As a new camper used to the relatively crowded State Park type of campgrounds, this felt more like dispersed camping - but Nikki and her sons were always available if I needed something. A nice bridge between the State Parks and dispersed camping in that way.

GREAT TENT CAMPING SITE

It's a good primitive site nestled in the woods with the creek running by it. Not a lot of amenities but that's what makes it a good tent camping site. My wife and I had an enjoyable, peaceful and wonderful time just being there. We're looking forward to going back. Oh, yeah, there's kayaking and e-biking but we didn't do either. However, those are both good options.

Please do not read this review! You will be extremely disappointed. Seriously, don't do it! Honestly, I just want to keep this place my hidden secret. Nikki is the most incredible host and her campsites are amazing! I didn't expect zero cell service, but it was exactly what I needed on our Labor Day weekend retreat. Going "off the grid" and seeing the Milky Way from the Ohio Brush Creek on her kayaks was exactly the escape we needed! Nikki was an extremely welcoming host, even when we had extra guests arrive who were not on our original booking. I cannot say enough good things about Nikki's place, hence the reason I previously pleaded with you to not read this review. We've stayed at quite a few Hipcamps, but this is now our favorite! We are already trying to plan a return visit! But again, please do not read this review because I really want this to stay my little secret getaway.

My happy place

This place is absolutely gorgeous! My husband and I needed a week to unplug and connect with nature and this was the perfect place to do it. Nikki is the BEST host I have met on Hipcamp !!! She was there if we needed her but she also gave us our privacy. This place is an awesome base camp if you want to explore the edge of Appalachia, kayak, or canoe. There is an amazing variety of birds and other wildlife to keep you intrigued for days! Ohio treasure for sure!!! Can’t wait to go back!!!

The stars aligned at MoonDoggie

It’s really hard to put into words the beautiful experience my family and I had at MoonDoggie LIVERee. On arrival we felt welcomed by Nikki and Jamie. Their property is absolutely magical and so serene. You can see their love for nature and outdoor adventures and wanting to share it with others. Our campsite was picture perfect. Tucked in the woods, tall trees with beautiful shade, right next to the creek we fell asleep to the sounds of water and chirping of crickets. Woke up to birds singing and a cool breeze. Mother Nature is alive and thriving at MoonDoggie LIVERee. We left with magical memories, stories of adventures and new friends. Plans are already being made for the next adventure here and we highly recommend experiencing it for yourself. You won’t regret it🖤

Moondoggie LIVERee was a great place to set up and spend a night , I wish I had more time to spend at this fabulous place. The location has a great sense of being far from civilization, which is what I am generally looking for. If you want to be immersed in nature , this is your spot. On a clear night while staying I saw some of the most vivid stars I had seen in a while , with the lack of light pollution it was stunning to say the least. Nikki the host was amazing and made everyone feel very welcome !! I will return to OBC at Moondoggie LIVERee !! A+ place !!!

Spectacular Camp Site

This site is spectacular! It is a large grassy area with beautiful trees that provide the perfect amount of shade. There is easy access to the river which was great for swimming and exploring. It felt private and was easy to access. Very dog friendly! I can't say enough good things about the camp host Nikki. She is friendly, kind, and full of amazing knowledge of the area. Everyone we met was welcoming and it made for a wonderful weekend! I can't wait to go back!
