The Lobster Boat Inn is located on a hill in the woods in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. It sits high and dry with no water in sight! You get the entire property to yourself. No barking dogs, loud music or annoying neighbours. No crowded RV or tent city here. Contact your host to adjust min. nights required. (standard 2 - 1 possible for a specific requested date.) Contact host David in advance. We provide visitors with a rustic, unique, "glamping" experience. The Boat is filled with lobster-themed items that will send you on an imaginary lobster pot-pulling adventure. Cook on the back deck as you drink in nature, then eat in an original ship's wheelhouse or outside at the picnic table by the fire pit. Our amenities also include: fishing rods, comfy beds, fresh drinking-water, refrigerator, 2 bathroom facilities, a hot outdoor shower, walking trails, microwave, and AC. The boat can sleep 5 guests, but a private raised glamping tent is provided for overflow if required. Off property you will find: auto race watching (at Riverside raceway), hiking, biking, ocean fishing, and shopping activities. Downtown Antigonish is but a ten minute drive. The famous Highland Games comes in July along with the Lobster Festival in New Glasgow. The Eastern Nova Scotia Exhibition runs from Aug 27-31. Want to swim at St. FX University swimming pool? Day passes are sold at the university. Of course ocean swimming at one of the 19, nearby, beautiful area beaches is totally free for all, so get wet and splash in the sea! Sure, you can sit inside and watch one of our many DVD movies, but instead why not : explore nature, take a walk through the woods, talk to your wife, or friend, play with the kids, or throw a ball for your dog? If you want to relax, visit the golf course in town or just chill on the comfy deck. Do you want to ride, your bike on mountain trails, fish, visit a lighthouse or a petting farm? We have these close by too! Wide-open highways make for smooth, fast, travel to places like New Glasgow, Pictou, The Cabot Trail or the ferry to PEI. (now 1/2 price) All are within an hour's drive. At night, relax around the fire-pit after a long day of fun. Then have a sleep "extraordinaire” on board! (No waves to worry about with this boat!) NS Registration # STR 25/26 B7063

This site is only a parking location at the head of the driveway. I can accommodate only on RV which is driven straight to the parking spot. To leave, you must reverse down the short straight driveway. (Approx. 50 feet)

Our Grand Opening will be June of 2024. In addition to the adults sleeping in the main Mermaid's Salon, the kids can enjoy the comfort and adventure of the loft above the Wheel House Room. There is an on board Head Room (bathroom) at the Bow and cooking equipment on the stern rear deck. Walk the property with your pet or perhaps visit the many beautiful beaches in the area. If mountain biking is your passion ride the trails on Keppoch Mountain, just a 10 min. drive away. Hike Browns Mountain and drink from Cutie's Hollow spring if you can meet the challenge, or take a short drive to Lochaber Lake for a fresh water swim. St. FX University also makes its' pool and exercise gym available to the public for a small fee but don't forget the beautiful ocean beaches also in close proximity. Later, warm yourself in front of the cozy fire pit roast marshmallows and corn and enjoy the stars before hitting the sack to prepare for another day of fun, exploration and adventure. Is the Cabot Trail on your to do list? We're only a few minutes drive to Cape Breton, but you'll need the whole day for that excursion!

Unique Lobster boat in the woods

The Lobster Boat has been one of our highlight of our trip around Nova Scotia! David took great care welcoming us in his unique place he built and we had a great time exploring the space. It is a peaceful place, yet pretty close to Antigonish city with all the amenities. Bonus point for being pet friendly!

David was the best host. He was thoughtful and welcoming. At Lobster Boat Inn, you have everything you need for a perfect unique glamping experience. The boat is a piece of art in itself. I highly recommand.

This is my new favorite hipcamp to stay, 9.9 out of 10 because i couldn't find a toothpick, jokes. I had to leave early the next evening family emergency but by far the most peaceful sleep we both ever had, and remember to put some sandpaper foot slip grip on shower floor or jack it up level David brother, be well captain, could put a stocked trout pond beside her to be cooler, trucker joke, be well my friend, this ment the world to us and my friend more than you think. we will be visiting again forsure 10-4 houndog over and out

Unique Lobster boat in the woods

I bought this as a Christmas present for my brother and his wife and they said it was awesome and very unique. A lot of thought and details went into the design of the boat. They also said David was very friendly, personable and easy to talk to. David thought they were newlyweds (guessing he has guests coming who are) and even had a gift for them. Amazing and thoughtful.

Excellent location! The inn was gorgeous, and we had an amazing time making smores and escaping from the world. The host was very nice and helpful. I would 10/10 recommend it!

Top Lobster at LBI

The Lobster Boat Inn is the PERFECT pla e to rest your head while exploring the gorgeous maritime region!! David was a warm, friendly, approachable and responsive host who provided a wonderful experience. We arrived late in the evening to a warm smile and hearty welcome. The boat's character and charm make for a fun experience with much to discovery within the Inn's decor. A squash and tomatoes from the garden were a very kind touch. David was knowledgeable about the surrounding area and Antigonish is a lovely place to explore, so quaint and friendly! Everything we needed for cooking/meal preparation was provided for us, and the outdoor shower was a fun additional feature! We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay and we will certainly recommend LBI and be return guests ourselves. Next time we bring the dog!

We had a great time at the Lobster Boat Inn. Such a unique and fun atmosphere - the way glamping should be. Nice and secluded, but easy to find. I hope to have a place of my own like this some day.

Glamping adventure!

We had a lovely glamping experience at the Lobster Boat Inn! It was private and the hosts had thought of many ways to make it as cozy as possible. The farm fresh eggs and tomatoes from their garden were so yummy. I wasn't sure what to expect woth the kitchen and was pleased to find a bbq, 2 top propane camp stove, a mini fridge, a small one cup French press, pour over coffee option, and tea pot in addition to the cookware/eatware supplies. David ensured our power supply didn't run out and gave us a great tutorial on how to run the power source etc. We had an awesome time and hope to be back!

We loved our stay at the Lobster Boat Inn. David was a great host, and made sure all our needs were taken care of. It definitely felt like a "camp", so a little self maintenance was needed, but David has gone to great lengths to make sure everything you would need is there. The boat renovation was very well done, and there was lobster memorabilia everywhere. Definitely a bucket list place for any lobster enthusiast. We would definitely go again! Thank David for creating this little gem in the woods.
