My husband and I had a fantastic time at the chalet. Our first night in NV at Porter's land was a thrilling adventure in nature, with the delightful chorus of birds. I even had a refreshing dip in the lake, and we were up before sunrise to witness the stunning sight of the sun rising over the misty lake. It was an exhilarating experience in Porter's land, and we're already counting down the days until our next visit!

I really appreciated the opportunity to try Hipcamp and porters peak. Overall, we left with a fine feeling.
The toilet was a new and interesting experience (the directions to change the bag were unfortunately not as clear for me). The lake and access to water activities were well used and a great element of this rental/cabin. The location was perfectly in the bush. The fire pit and complimentary firewood is much appreciated. Also well used.
One setback for this trip was the sheets being used/stained/dirty, dog hair/scent. The reception did a great job of responding to my request for new sheets almost immediately. But it really shouldn’t be the guest asking for clean sheets… that should be a standard for paid accommodation
Enjoyable space. Unfortunately unkept.
Also, there is discrepancy between the bill from Hipcamp and the receipt from porters peak. I’m confused why their numbers didn’t add up.

Overall the site was beautiful. The only complaints we have is the absence of onsite staff, when we faced issues with the non-functioning shower on not just one but the two mornings (and only mornings) we were there, there was no one to help. Campsites at rates as low as 39$ that we stayed at had better showers. There were also workers carrying large materials on mini motor bikes (pretty dangerous). In the description it also described free fire wood, also nowhere to be found. Just some constructive pieces of advice, when we payed almost $500 and couldn’t even shower.

Beautiful place and location! Had lots of nice amenities but consider bringing a few cozy lamps or string lights because the lights provided are not enough. Also note there is no electricity, which we did not realize. Get there while it’s still light out as it’s a bit confusing depending on which cabin you’re in.

We spent three nights in the Eager Beaver cabin. The cabin was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed . The shower in the cabin was not hooked up yet, but the near by outdoor shower was a very unique experience which we enjoyed. We were surrounded by beautiful scenery and the sounds of nature. We Paddleboarded on the lake and my husband went for a refreshing swim, i was not as adventurous as him. My favorite thing about this place is the unobstructed view of the sky from the peak which was an amazing place to view the stars and look at the sky at night.
We had a relaxing stay and plan to return in the fall.

Was a lovely stay my only complaint would be it would be nice to have wifi and power with no service up on the peak but other then that beautiful site lovely amenities makes for a great stay and experience made for a great birthday trip

Really great price! Stay was lovely. Brought extra firewood with us but what was supplied was enough for the night. Great views and things so do on property and also very clean! Already planning trip back with family.
Only “complaint” was the guest book was full haha!

Overall this is a beautiful place and the cabins are really cool, outdoor kitchen was very convenient. However for the cost I was pretty disappointed in the facilities, shared porta potties, I would have preferred an outhouse next to the cabin. I also had a very cold shower in the morning because they said it was solar operated. After the shower I walked around it and saw it had a propane heater with no instructions, which I would have found helpful especially just because it would have indicated there was a heater. My fire pit also faced another cabin instead of the lake like many others.

Note: There is little to no cell service at Porters Peak, so it may not be ideal for those who need to work remotely.
That said, Porters Peak is an adorable and unique getaway that exceeded my expectations. The attention to detail in the chalet was impeccable, making the stay truly memorable. Initially, I was concerned about it being too hot to sleep, but the chalet cooled down nicely at night, and the magnetic screen door was a fantastic addition. On our first night, we slept with the door open, enjoying the quiet and peaceful surroundings.
The second night offered a breathtaking view of the full moon and stars, adding a magical touch to our stay. Although the cabins were a bit closer together than I had anticipated, the clever use of rocks and foliage provided a sense of privacy. The proximity to the lake was another highlight; it was just a 30-second walk from our chalet, which our dogs absolutely loved.
Overall, Porters Peak is a charming retreat that I would highly recommend for anyone looking to relax and reconnect with nature.

We loved the chalet and the privacy of the location. We really loved the shower. Only thing is that there is only one shower for the whole location. There are a lot of port a potties located around the camp, but they did not look like they were emptied frequently. It looks like they have big plans for the future and we look to visiting where more of their facilities are available.

A perfect little getaway! We really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning and trying out one of the other types of accommodation on the property. We had a perfect view of the meteor shower which was a bonus. The chalet has everything you’d need. We were able to truly unplug and relax which was our goal.

Thank you PortersPeak for the beautiful experience. It was my 39th birthday. We love nature, We enjoy off grid experiences. The propane fireplace was very warm as long as our power Bank stay charged. The bed was beyond comfortable, We had the best sleeps in it. We plan to come back soon!!!

The tent was very nice and the beds were super comfortable. It was my first time seeing a little wood stove inside the tent so that was pretty cool and it kept us warm when the temperature dropped to 10 degrees. They had everything at the campground, cups, dishes, French press, board games, teas, 3 lighters, 3 little fire starters and plenty of wood. The lake was very close to our campground and we had fun exploring the lake with the paddle boards. My only suggestion to the campground staff is to have the Porta potty cleaned more often. Other than that it was a great trip and I would book here again.
