Point in View, so named for the amazing view of Economy Point, is located in Economy Nova Scotia-a rural town with a laid back attitude on the Glooscap Trail. We have 17 acres overlooking the dramatically changing tides of the Bay of Fundy. Across the Bay are the magnificent redcliffs of Burntcoat Head- where the highest tides in the world have been recorded!
We have private access to a very quiet beach, so quiet you may be the only person enjoying it! You can walk, swim or fish according to tide times. Rock-hounding is a popular pastime as is shell collecting!
Bird watching enthusiasts will love what we have to offer- eagles, loons, gulls and woodpeckers of all sizes are just a small example of what you might see around the property.
Local amenities include a fully stocked company store, with a liquor store and a fabulous gift shop on their second floor in Bass River, 5 minutes away.
"That Damn Dutchman" cheese makers and farm is a couple minutes up the road and has a unique variety of products and animals to see.
We have local artists' with galleries to visit, 10 minutes in either direction.
There is one restaurant in Economy(5 minutes away) and 3 in Five Islands (10 minutes away) with varying menus but of course local seafood is available at all.
Great Village, 20 minutes east has a great selection of antique stores, a diner and a fuel station.
Parrsboro, 30 minutes west, is a quaint seaside town with a lot of amenities including a 9 hole golf course with ocean views and the Ships Company Theatre who put on live shows all summer.
The Ottawa House and Age of Sail museums are other points of interest past Parrsboro. Not to mention the fantastically scenic drive along the whole shore.Welcome to Point in View!
Follow the private gravel road-staying to the right. Your parking is right off the road behind the RV and just a few feet away are 6 steps up to the large deck that leads you in to your accommodations.
From the deck you overlook an expansive lawn with some natural landscaping. This leads to a phenomenal view of our ever changing tides and the Economy Point. The redcliffs of Burntcoat Head and the Noel Shore are directly across th.
There is a firepit on site with seating around and wood is also available. We are subject to the occasional fire ban and we will keep you up to date on these.
You'll be on the beach in a few short minutes via our Beach Trail. This is the private access to our slice of paradise! The trail itself is shale covered (not muddy), it does have a hill and a tidal stream runs along side. The trail is used by our guests and us, the property owners. The general public does not have access.
We have on site trails for hiking or biking as well as the many public use trails all along the Glooscap Trail. ATV trails are also handy the property. You can bring kayaks to use in the Bay. Note: we do not supply any kayaks or ATV's. We do have an assortment of games available for guests, both indoor and out.
