This campsite is located in a rustic semi-rainforest environment, with lots of lovely trees and plants. It is a convenient campsite for those travelling without children. We are situated on a 20-acre block in the rural area between Darwin and Palmerston with access to power and water. We have sites under a shaded treed area for your comfort. This campsite is for campervans, caravans and RVs only. No tents, please. We have a Hipcamp listing for 8 powered sites and another Hipcamp listing for 8 unpowered sites, please ensure you are choosing the correct option at the time of booking. The dimensions of each site can be found in our photos. Please click through to see which site will best fit your set-up. Any questions, please message us! Dogs are welcome. We have drinking water available. There is a shared shower and toilet block and access to a free laundry. We also have a dump point on site. Our land used to be a nursery used for plant cultivation and there is plenty of bush. From here you can visit Charles Darwin National Park, Howard Springs Nature Park and the Knuckey Lagoons Conservation Reserve, which is an important wildlife habitat. During the wet season you can view the full wetlands and water lilies. The reserve also has cultural importance for the local Larrakia people and is still used for collecting traditional food. Due to the thick tree setting fires are not permitted. This campsite is for couples only - please no school-aged children (very young kids aged 4 and under are ok as long as they remain under the supervision of parents/guardians at all times). Children 4 and under camp for free with parents.

No complaints
We really enjoyed our week stay. Mark and Jean-Anne the caretakers were so lovely, really helped us feel at home. Great location. Simple, clean amenities and free Laundry was a bonus. Large sites, fairly private depending on what other sites were occupied. Would stay again.

Beautiful spot
Such a beautiful, peaceful spot to stay. I originally booked 2 nights and then would camp at different places during my darwin visit, but I really enjoyed this spot so I booked another 2 nights. Graham is so wonderful and friendly The atmosphere is just amazing and it’s so close to town as well as easier to get around from there Would recommend

Sites need upgrading
Caretakers doing a great job. Overall the place needs an upgrade for the amount they are charging they need to check out similar camps and what is offered.

Okay
Unfortunately the camp was not as tranquil as expected. A site we chose on the little map when booking that looked nice and leafy and tucked away ended up being right on a main road. Terribly noisy. Plus only one small facility for campers meant we only stayed one night out of what we booked. Good thing though is the free washing machine, that was very good with plenty of decent lines for drying.

Great little camp very handy to Darwin. Clean toilets and showers plus free washing machine. Road and/plane noise might bother some but we slept well. Bush very dry at this time -will be nice when things green up. Owner and caretakers friendly and helpful

Great friendly camp.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at knuckies Lagoon. The easy access to the camp ground was great. Close to Darwin, just hope on the hiway. 15 min into the city made it perfect. The amenities were very clean. The free washing machine was a bonus. Loved the easy going atmosphere. The caretakers were friendly and super nice. Would recommend staying here & I will be back. 😊

Terrible experience
My site was so hot, backing on to a noisy motorway. When I asked to change as I could see quite a fee unoccupied sites, 8 was told that I had to cancel.and re-book which would mean I loose my original payment ( cancellation policy). The next morni g the hot water shower tap fell off, pouring hot water onto my legs. There should be some flexibility to move people if they ar

Overall our stay was pleasant and the caretakers were lovely. But We were not expecting to see so many different camps as it’s advertised as 6 powered… site privacy was no where near what we were expecting as the bush land is not as dense as made out. Again, stay was pleasant and showers toilets were all very clean

We loved Knuckey’s Lagoon!
Great base to locate yourself! Spacious sites in a semi rural setting! 15 min drive to Darwin and 5 min drive to Palmerston and the Gateway Shopping Centre! Amenities kept clean! Free laundry, which is great! There is a flight path over the site but that hasn’t put us off! This is our 3rd week staying here and we would come back again without hesitation! We stayed in Site 7 with a 17.5ft caravan! Pet friendly too! Our dog loved it here!

Great location, clean amenities, loved the free washing machine and plenty of room. Only complaint - wasn’t keen on the unisex showers and toilets. There are two blocks very close together- one could be male and the other female.

Excellent except for the noise
Graham has a fabulous set up and is very helpful and accommodating and this site is very close to town with lovely spacious sites. Everything you would want except for the sound of large planes overhead and road traffic noise.
