Take the Davis ferry to the beautiful beaches of Cape Lookout just a few minutes away! 3 sites with 30 amp power (sites 1, 2 and 3) we welcome generators at the other sites, so long as they are quiet. All with water hookups except tent site 5. One can also pitch your tent right by the water (site 5). Enjoy swimming in the sound, fishing from the private dock, wind surfing, paddle boarding, kayaks and your canoes!!!! Enjoy it all and only share the space with 4 other sites. Personal boat parking available, public dock is 0.25 miles away. Or take the Davis ferry, a minute away, to the beautiful beaches of Cape Lookout! No waste dump on site, but one nearby, information available upon request. They charge $25. We also have a Cozy Cottage from 1914 situated on 6.5 acres of gated land. Enjoy the property’s sound access to Core Sound. Fish, kayak, canoe or paddle board in nature’s beauty. 20 minutes from shops and restaurants of Beaufort and Morehead city. There is also a ferry to Ocracoke a island in Cedar Island, a peaceful 20 minute drive away. Really great access to a quiet and beautiful part of the outer (inner) banks. Everything you’d ever want to do at the beach is within 30 minutes and the sunrise on the sound is gorgeous. Be prepared for mosquitoes, especially at dusk. Recommend spray or a bug light. With Cape Lookout National seashore and Fort Macon State park under 20 minutes from us, you also have tons of outer-bank activities to choose from.

We had a wonderful time at this site. Easy to find, on the outer banks scenic Highway with the campsite leading out to a point. Great fishing off the point and shrimping at the entrance to the estuary. Fire pit and chairs at the point. Perfect for star watching almost no ambient light in the sky looking out towards the Atlantic or back across the bay. Very private with amazing sunrises on the ocean beyond the outer islands and colorful sunsets over the wetlands. Lots to do with ferries and day drives on the Outer banks Scenic Highway. Highly recommend it and we have plans to return

Waterfront tranquility!
Amanda's land is spectacular -- on its own little point sticking right out into Cove Sound, surrounded by water and salt marsh on three sides. There are three water/electric sites and one or two dry sites. It's set well back from the house for lots of privacy, and aside from our first night when there was a small super-B in another site, we had the entire week to ourselves out there. Beautiful views from the point!
We had a wonderful stay at Amanda's guest house. The fresh paint and new amenities were a wonderful surprise! The house was very clean and well stocked with necessities. We thoroughly enjoyed the views from the point, where we watched the sunset and moon rise all three nights. We also sat at the point one morning and watched the sunrise over the water while enjoying a cup of coffee. It was a very relaxing weekend. We hope to stay again soon!

Loved taking our travel trailer to Amanda's place. Very peaceful and relaxing spit! Took the Davis Ferry (5 min away) to Cape Lookout for the day and enjoyed the fire pit in the evening.

Cottage on Sound Ferry Cape Lookout
Would definitely recommend for a clean, cozy cottage near the ferries and beaches. Our kids camped out back. The grandkids had so much fun catching crabs and kayaking. The outdoor shower by the kayak launch was so helpful! It’s doesn’t have a full sized fridge and freezer but for two people it was more than adequate. So peaceful! Hope to return someday!!!

Peaceful setting, beautiful view
This coastal setting is seriously beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed the views and the campfire area with the chairs. The fishing is good and we took our kayak on a couple of paddles. There is a small dock and launching area. Cell phone signal was good (T Mobile). There are mosquitoes and biting flies, so bring bug juice.

I had a great few days at Site #1. There was a great family group in a few sites part of the time and I had the place to myself for a bit. The paddling was a great. All the shrimp in the cannel weren't the as excited but if you paddle in stealth mode as you exit, they hardly notice. It was a perfect sanctuary to to find to unwind and appreciate the beautiful coastal areas in Davis. I'll definitely visit again!

Awsome place!
Beautiful spot, very convenient to all the ferries! Great kayak launching area as well. Kids had a ton of fun paddling arround in the water. One camper caught a ray off the point. Nice outdoor shower on the dock. 30A and water connection was very nice. Thank you for a great stay!

Loved this spot! Would stay here again, especially if traveling on to Cape Lookout. It was literally a 3 min drive to the ferry! We were the only campers which was cool and had the firepit all to ourselves. The crab traps kept us entertained and it was a nice place for the dogs to run around. Yes there were bugs, but it's camping. You should always be prepared for mosquitos when camping. It was nothing like on the cape with the horse flies....Now those were bad! There was a little local grocery store close by but I would stop to get the majority of your food before you get there. Not much around, but Moorehead City isn't too far...20 mins

Waterfront, ferry to Cape Lookout
Absolutely beautiful weekend away. Campsite #5 is right on the water— our pups enjoyed swimming in the sound. For a more traditional ocean swim we took the Davis ferry to cape lookout. The views from the site are lovely and provide for a peaceful experience. Two thumbs up!

Cottage on Sound Ferry Cape Lookout
This rental is great for 2-3 people, it’s attached via the deck to the mai. House which is also a rental. Being attached via deck to the main house on the property is fine but you’ll be sharing the deck, entrance area, grill and outdoor dining area. The kitchen area is really the second bedroom and when the couch bed is pulled out it’s difficult to get to the bathroom. Really nice location on the sound!

We camped in our RV. We were at the maximum length limit so naturally it was a bit more complicated to get down the drive but we managed fine. The site is private and when we were there it wasn’t completely full. We showed up after some rain so bugs were a bit intense but leveled out after a day of sunshine. It’s a marsh type area and truly picturesque. We loved it, our dogs loved it, would return when bugs are less active.

Waterfront, ferry to Cape Lookout
Great spot with water all around.
Beautiful spot right on the water. Lots of wildlife: crabs fish and birds. Bring your bug spray as the mosquitoes were big and hungry. Thankfully the great breeze kept them away for the most part but they sure wanted to get in the tent. I imagine it could feel crowded if all the sites were full but we had the place basically to ourselves for the short time we were there.

Mosquito haven
The site was very beautiful and naturalistic being on the water just off the sound. No matter where you looked you saw water and wildlife. We loved the little crabs, dragonflies and herons we saw everyday. However, the fact that the campsite is right on the water the water is very stagnant and therefore has mosquitoes like I have never seen in my life. We could not be outside the camper for more than a few minutes before we would get chased back inside. Even using bug spray these mosquitos didn’t seem to care. A few minutes outside resulted in over one dozen bites. The listing is also misleading in saying that campfires are allowed and then showing a picture of a very nice fire pit only to find the fire pit is out on the point in a community area shared by all 5 campsites well away from the campsites. The first morning we were there while exploring the grounds we also noticed more trash than I would expect to see. On three different occasions there were vehicles that either drove in and turned around or random people walking a dog threw the campsite, and one evening we returned at dark to find a truck with a person using a flashlight in the community area when we were the only campers in the campsite. That was a little unnerving when we thought we were the only people there. Amanda was quick to respond while we were booking but never checked on us while there. We also had to ask about the dump station listed in the description that Amanda states is nearby.

We camped with our RV for 2 weeks while the kids did a junior sailing course in Beaufort. It was a beautiful spot, we loved it! We were able to take our boat out a few days to Cape Lookout, and would be a great spot to tent camp and kayak! Thanks again for everything!!

Beautiful location, wonderful hosts
Beautiful location, amazing property with a stunning view! Fire pits, seating area at the water where we watched dolphins swim by. The hosts were wonderful…super helpful and welcoming. Only a three minute ride to the Cape Lookout ferry, which was perfect. We look forward to staying here again next year.

Peaceful
We loved our stay. Our dogs loved there stay. Just be careful letting them in the water owners try their best to clean up all the sharp shells by the water just keep your eyes out! The Owners are super friendly and know the best spots to go if you're looking for things to do during the day. Nice big fire pits for making smores would recommend stay here if you get a chance it's quiet and semi private there where a few other campers there but way better then a giant camp site there also a dump site near by if your tanks are getting full!
