Mountain Shack on a farm
Tiny shack on a friendly farm
This hand-crafted wood shack complete with kitchen area, canopy bed, and even deck provided a wonderfully dry stay on a rainy December night. Wanna know the best part besides your host Marlene, the animals, and general good vibes? The covered fire pit that allowed us to have a nice fire and watch the rain fall until getting too sleepy. Have I mentioned the animals? They were some of the friendliest dogs, goats, deer, pigs, and more, all living so peacefully together! 10/10

Mountain Shack on a farm
Mountain Shack on a Farm is an adorable camping setup. Lots of creative touches by the owners along with gorgeous views Our favorites were the peaceful mountain meadow dotted with guinea hens, chickens, huge and friendly pigs, and goats galore--along with the hand-made, imaginative and clever housing arrangements for all these critters back behind the meadow. The animals were adorable and many loved being petted. The owners are also very friendly, and shared some timely wisdom with us while we were there.

Shacking up in the shack!
The Shack was an amazing experience for a first time female solo explorer! Marlene and Jo have the most beautiful souls and they make you feel welcome from the moment you step out the car! The mountains are breath taking and there’s so much to explore. Prepare for animal snuggles and early morning wake ups with donkey giggles and pig snorts. It definitely helps start the day!
Bring oils for the beautiful porcelain tub outdoors and a yoga mat for sunrise/set vinyasa flow on top of the newly built rooftop balcony. Firewood is a must have, they have some on stand by if you forget. Basic kitchen items available as well as blankets for chilly nights! Highly recommended!

Cozy shack on a friendly farm
We had a perfect stay in the mountain shack! It has everything you need and nothing you don't. We were cozy and warm in the beds and loved having tea and a fire every night in the private nook with the sunset views. The outdoor shower will definitely wake you up since it's powered on spring water! There was a basket of fresh eggs on the counter that we used for breakfast and snacks as well as coffee and some kitchen basics. We did all the hikes our hosts recommended (waterfalls, vistas, rivers) and truly appreciated the friendly welcome and chats about the animals. We look forward to coming back and giving Patches more scratches!

Mountain Shack on a farm
We loved staying here! The place was easy to find with the host's directions, the beds were comfortable, and the sunsets were beautiful. We had fun petting the different farm animals, who were all very friendly. We were provided with pans, a hotplate, microwave, etc for cooking which was very nice. Firewood was an extra cost, but was a reasonable price. Overall an amazing place to stay!

A truly incredible experience
Staying at Marlene and Mary Jo’s place was a true gift and blessing. They are two of the most amazing people I have ever met and show such love and care for the plethora of animal friends (or maybe I should say family) who live on the land with them. They made me feel incredibly welcome and loved and I only knew them for a few hours! I could not recommend this place more highly and feel that this is a true gem of a place to stay.
