Friendly community
Huge camp ground! Two different options when it comes to what kind of terrain you like to camp in. There’s a big open field and a wooded area, both were super cool. All kind of places to fill water, the bath house was super clean and convenient, and there were plenty of places on the property if you needed the bathroom. The farm stand on the property was also one of my favorites, we got to cook dinner with meat that came right from their farm.

We always look forward to camping at the Heron! Since the cost is per person, it can get pricier for larger groups. But, it's worth it to us. The sites are spacious, as well as the campground itself. We love walking around the grounds. The Wearyland loop is our favorite - it's wooded and quiet, a short walk to the center of the campground. We got steaks from the farm store when we arrived and cooked them up for dinner the next day - they were fantastic! We came on an "off" weekend (no live music or ticketed admission), so it was especially quiet. But, this also allowed us to check out later, so we could take our time and enjoy the morning/afternoon before packing up. We're already planning on returning before the summer ends! I would highly recommend the Heron!

Not good for off season camping
I would not recommend this camp in the off season. When we got there, the person that was there to greet us was very nice and as helpful as he could be but there was no communication from the people that run the camping portion and he did not know we were coming. He did his best to show us where we could stay but everything was very run down. It is advertised to have bathrooms and showers and the bathrooms were portapottys which was fine but the showers were not set up and the water wasn't even turned on so we couldn't even take a shower. Im sure this place could have potential in peak camping season but a week ago, it was very uncomfortable. My mom and I ended up leaving and getting a hotel because we were that unsettled.

A great place to stay
This is a beautiful campground nestled in the woods. We had such a great time hiking in the woods and exploring the grounds. The host was super friendly and helpful. The organic mushroom farm is a must see. So interesting to see how they do that. I would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay.

Natural beauty in Amish country
A great setting overlooking a valley. . Camping spots are on natural terrain, so you will need to level. Hosts were very accommodating and helpful with set up. Great little farm store with local produce and products.
