Acres of meadow and woodland surround you on this 250 year old colonial farmstead.
Deer, owls, & wild turkeys may keep you company. Feels private despite neighbors & a road nearby. You will be the only group in the camp site! You will not share your solitude with anyone else.'Backyard' camping in a sunny open field, where meadow meets woods. Ideal for budget travelers who need a home base to sleep at while they spend most of their time exploring the surrounding area.Â
You will be the only people staying at the site, with over an acre to yourself. Owls may keep you company. Deer may graze in the blackberry patch nearby. Look for hawks, woodpeckers, foxes, and groundhogs. During summer twilight enjoy watching fireflies. In late summer let crickets and katydids serenade you to sleep.
Stroll to a 24 hour farm stand for fresh eggs, dairy, veggies, and meat. Proximity to the rail trail, so bring your bikes. Walk to the Wallkill river for fishing (following regulations). A short drive from locations to deploy your Kayak into the river or creeks.
Great if you're a climber, very close to the Gunks! Minutes from bars and restaurants in New Paltz.  Jumping-off point for Minnewaska State Park, Awosting Falls, Mohonk Mountain House, the quiet hamlets of Ulster County, the Catskill Mountains, Hyde Park, Poughkeepsie, Kingston, and the Mid-Hudson Valley.Â
This historic farming property was established in 1768 by a captain in the Ulster County militia, and his family, just before the Revolutionary war.
NOTE
1 - A neighboring house is in view, and there are another 2 houses partially obscured by trees. The road is about 100 feet away, and gets modest traffic.
2 - Wear proper footwear, POISON IVY likes to poke up along the path to, and around the site during warm months. We mow these areas to minimize their presence. Our goal is to respect it, not eradicate, as it's a native plant important to the local ecosystem.
3 -Â Guests invited after booking must be announced to host, and additional fee will be charged per person, per night.
