Loved every minute of our getaway!
2nd time booking and Vintage Camper amazing memories lives on! Sus is a wonderful and accommodating host. She gave us recommendations for some hikes nearby— we LOVED exploring Plaza Blanca & soaked in the healing waters at Ojo Caliente. We looked forward to our evening fireside dinners and chats. Def would book again & already daydreaming of our next getaway at the Vintage Camper :)

Excellent Stay in La Madera
Staying in the camper was excellent. It's very cute and cozy, the surrounding area is wonderful, and Sus was a wonderful host. There's a little firepit outside where you can build a fire as well which we really enjoyed. Stars out in La Madera were also wonderful. Our weekend there was terrific.
The only concern if you'll be staying here is that there is no running water in the camper and no plumbing. Sus offers up her house for anything you'll need though and it's just a small walk from the camper.

Host was super helpful and sweet and helped us stay warm on a freezing night by switching us from the tent (which is definitely a bell tent) to the cozy camper. Super close and convenient to the hot springs resort if you want an alternative close to nature serene experience. Beautiful river spot and semi private.

what a wonderful place to ground and be quiet! i was looking for a break from a whirlwind of change and found reprieve in the land in which susanne is the current steward. everything i needed on the cold nights were provided for including warm baths and blankets. i relocated to the camper from the yurt and had a propane heater available. susanne guided me to spectacular landscapes to explore in the area and was available for anything else i needed. so grateful for my time there :)

Wild River Oasis by Ojo Hot Springs
SUS is such a gentle and caring being. Absolute kindness of her to open up her beautiful property to us passers through. It is an intentional space, respect and resiprocity are ideals to bring with you. We rented out the trailer and bell yurt. Expect cooler temps in cooler seasons and pack accordingly. We will be returning when we can and recommending to our friends.

Meadow paradise
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Sus’s vintage camper! The camper was tucked in a whimsical meadow & we felt secluded, although it was only a short 6 minute drive to Ojo Caliente. The cottonwoods were glowing yellow this time of year. Sus greeted us upon arrival and was a great host! Would highly recommend!

Magical place
The yurt is so magical. You have to cross the River to get to the yurt from Sus’s house. She has everything you need in the yurt, very beautifully decorated. She gave us the best suggestions to explore the surroundings too. She has a heater in the yurt for the cold months, very convenient! Thanks so much for your hospitality, Sus! We will be back :)

Really cute! Keep in mind u have to cross tree stumps that are a bit rickety on the river to get to it. That, and there is no heat source inside, so bundle up

Camp close to Ojo with pets!!
The site was lovely and host was amazing! Providing directions to nearby hikes and had beautifully appointed chairs, hammocks, etc. by the river that runs behind her house. Sus Anne was an absolutely lovely host and even offered to watch my pup while I went to Ojo to soak! 10/10 would recommend!

The yurt was cozy, quiet and the perfect little get away. Sus was the best host. She walked us down to the yurt across the creek and showed us around. Gave us recommendations on things to do and made sure we had enough blankets. Sleeping next to the creek was as just what we needed

Magical oasis
This place was magical! We loved waking up and having coffee by the river. The hike was amazing. We loved looking at stars at night by the campfire. We will definitely be back again!

The location is beautiful, however we camped at another spot not too far from this location after our stay here for half the price which had a bathroom and was in just as beautiful of a location as this one. This site has a bathroom that can be used but it is located in the hosts’ home, which is a little inconvenient for any middle of the night bathroom needs or when the host was not there. However, Sus was friendly when she greeted us and did offer citronella to help with the mosquitoes, as well as having plenty of knowledge about the area. If the bathrooms were more accessible I would 10/10 recommend this campsite.

Omg... I absolutely will be back💛 This amazing lil heaven was a treasure even if we got rained out... And the host felt more like a friend at the end of our stay. At the end of the day I want to keep it to myself, but everyone needs to make a living. So if u want a perfect spot this is it.

Beautiful land, a little overgrown
The land is gorgeous and the location is closed to Ojo Caliente and other beautiful sites like waterfalls. The host and friends were all so helpful and friendly. I have mixed feelings about coming back because personally I’d prefer a camper that is hooked up so that I have my own kitchen and bathroom, overall a more private experience. However this was a choice we made ourselves and it is a beautiful spot. One piece of improvement would be maybe doing some landscaping in the summer just so we wouldn’t have to bend down and go through bushes to get to the camper.

Beautiful lush land with great sites for cars and tents. We were the only campers and the privacy was great, hidden away amongst tall bush.
Wonderful place to land after an evening soak at the most beautiful natural hot springs, Ojo Caliente, just 15 minutes away.
Great amenities as well.

We loved this site. The yurt was lovely and the location was gorgeous. But don’t count on bathroom access - it’s only available when the host is there, which wasn’t clear from the listing. Be sure to pack supplies.

Bucolic locale!
Sus has a yurt, a vintage camper (both looked lovely/quaint inside), and a field near the camper. We were in the field with a pop up tent. It is primitive camping, with no shops nearby, so be prepared, but surrounded by greenery and so many birds of many species! Lovely views of hills. A nearby small river with a leafy spot complete with hammock and chairs completed the picture. Sus had to go for the whole day/night while we were there, so we lost access to water and the bathroom. We had enough water, but it was hard to find a good place for the latter. There is no phone service and Wi-Fi was down while we were there. Unfortunately, with all the rain, the mosquitoes were voracious! We appreciated Sus’s local knowledge on the last day 🙂.
