Site 4 - Getaway Camping Lot
We had a great time at the farm. The view is *spectacular* and Jon made sure we were set up with what we needed (we didn’t need much)! Very private. Highly recommend for a chill time.

We loved our stay here. Beautiful large short grass site with amazing view and very private. Jon was very responsive and helpful. We will definitely be returning. Perfect first stop from Montreal when heading East.

Beautiful view's and relaxing privacy. Great for our dogs to run. Trails and beach to explore. History of the family farm is fascinating and Jon is a great and welcoming host.

Amazing campsite, amazing host! I arrived very late at night and the host, Jon helped me find the campsite and stayed in touch with me untill I reached the campsite. He even set up some fire wood as I didn't have and he even started the fire!!! Jon is an awesome dude! I would definitely recommend choosing this campsite!

Site 4 - Getaway Camping Lot
Jon's land is beautiful, peacful and private. It was the perfect place to rest and reflect on my roadtrip back home. Jon was a very kind and accommodating host. He made sure I had everything I needed for a safe and comfortable stay. I could have sat at the campsite staring at the mountains, water and sky all day long. I witnessed the most epic sunset and enjoyed listening to the distant howls of the coyotes at night. There is a beach and lots of nature to explore within walking distance of the campsite. Jon told me of even more hikes and rivers within a short drive of his land! I can't wait to come back and explore the area more!

A Hidden Gem for Stargazing in New Brunswick!
If you're searching for a stunning spot to stargaze, look no further! This location offers one of the best views in New Brunswick. While it can get windy on the hill, the breeze is actually a plus when you're camping in a tent. The area doesn’t have much shade, but it's easy to find and totally worth it.
We had the entire place to ourselves, and our dogs absolutely loved it. It’s far enough from the road and nearby farm, providing plenty of space for them to roam freely. The tranquility was incredible, and the clean porta potty was a pleasant surprise.
Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful and scenic outdoor experience!

The land has an amazing view! We were caught by the rain for our night, but Jon was extremely accommodating and helpful to make our experience a great one. Communication with Jon was very easy snd pleasing. Would 100% recommend!

Nice host, very spartan. Alot of mosquitos overnight. Quiet and safe location. Fee was high compared to area canadian full service campgrounds in same region.

Very quiet location, beautiful sky view for sunset and at night. View on the river and beach access. We were alone on the site for 3 days. Jon was very welcoming and quick to help us get fresh water and some golf clubs to use his practice net. Would go again.

The property and area was absolutely beautiful! I got in late and missed out on the beach tour but did a walk in the morning the explore the area.

Jon’s hospitality and attention to detail were outstanding at The Getaway. First class! The site was beautiful and private and the views of the Baie were such a treat. We enjoyed long walks along the beach and took in lovely sunsets. Loved the many varieties of song birds and the fireflies and stars at night. Can’t say enough about our stay and wish it had been longer. Our first Hipcamp stay and we were thrilled with the experience.

This site has an amazing view of the bay and the Gaspe on the other side. There was a large grassy area that was level. It was perhaps a five minute walk to the beach. Prior to arrival Jon was in touch several times and greeted us when we arrived. He had a campfire going for us too! We would definitely stay here again!

Loved the whole camping experience. It was raining when we got there and John graciously offered his old retro camper for us to seek shelter in until the rain subsided. We went for a hike on the property and visited the beavers at the beaver dam which was great! John is a super kind and hospitable host and the natural beauty of his land is astounding!

This was a fantastic place to stay! Such a great view of Gaspésie & the water! Also, very short walking distance to the beach - we swam everyday! It was was great!
We met Jim and Justin, and they were awesome! Very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

What a stunning location. We had great chats with the family that farms this glorious spot. The site had the most amazing view and we walked across the road to their private beach to see the most incredible sunset. Great privacy. Highly recommend!!!!

A great relaxing place I wish we could have stayed longer at but plan on returning in the future!!! Jon is wonderful and very accommodating! The view of the river thru the fields was beautiful and waking to the rooster was like being back at home.

Getaway Camping Lot
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Getaway Camping Lot on MacGruder Farm. Totally chill place with beautiful lake views from a hill side camping site. If you have the opportunity, you’ll want to meet Jon’s father (Jim) who is one of the friendliest and most interesting people i’ve ever met!!

Getaway Camping Lot
Getting off the beaten path is what it’s all about. The location has epic views and the hosts could not be any more friendly. I highly recommend staying here, if not just to walk their beach and take on the view.

We felt like we were in a wondrous corner of the north shore… Beautiful open vistas and the feeling of being able to see all around us, but feeling the solitude of open fields and the lush mountains of the opposite shore. We took a late afternoon walk on the beach and saw a bald eagle and some shorebirds… Again in perfect solitude. Jon was a caring and attentive host.
