Shepherd’s Rest RV & Tent Camping
This was my first time using Hipcamp & Shepard’s Rest set the bar high! My husband and I enjoyed two evenings of private tent camping with our dogs. There were bathroom amenities and a fire lit. There were also paths cut out that we walked our dogs around a few times. It provided the rest we sorely needed.

Camping at Jen’s goat rescue was so fun! The animals were super friendly, and we had a great time meeting them all. The campsite felt very secluded and we had fun exploring the trails and sitting around the campfire. Jen was also very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!

The camping is private and there's some mowed trails you can walk. There is a creek near by that attracts a lot of if deer. The goat rescue was a lot of fun, we got to meet all of the animals while Jen explained the operation and all of the animals names, history and personalities. Will come back!

Loved my stay at Shepherd's Rest! Jen was so warm and lovely and gave me a very generous tour of the goats at meal time, the outside enclosures, the sheep, the llama AND some fresh marionberries off the tree. The campsite was a very sweet grassy spot in the trees with a camp toilet and fire pit area. It felt safe and private and I fell asleep to the hooting of owls and the twinkling of fireflies- super dreamy.

Great place! Plenty of room for your vehicle and tent set up. Privacy too. Nice outhouse with all the basics. Responsive host and if you are there on the correct day goat yoga is available!

Jen loves her goats! She and her husband have other jobs and take care of the goats, llama, and miniature horse in their sanctuary. They are kind people.
There was a terrible storm my second night on the farm, and it destroyed my tent. Jen tried to save me and offered to let me stay in their guest room. I chose to drive to a hotel, but I will always feel grateful for Jen's effort and care.

Peaceful place to stop and pitch our tent for the night. Jen also gave us a tour of the barn and we met her sweet goats. I recommend if you’re passing through!

Unique experience to say the least. I was greeted by Jen and several dozen of her best “friends” including a newborn. 🙂 Comfortable campsite, very quiet the way it should be. Jen was the perfect hostess with a fascinating story about her mission to rescue goats and other animals. You won’t regret staying here.

So happy to find such a cool place to camp in Nebraska as I drive across the country. The goats and other rescue animals are so cute! And I also saw a mama deer with her 2 babies!

Jen was incredibly nice and accommodating! After finding our campsite which is posted right outside the main gait to enter the property, we headed up to the barn to meet the many goats who live there. Jen taught us a lot about the goats, their diets, how they got to the sanctuary, and funny anecdotes about some of them (she knows all of them by name and their particular quirks)! We got to pet the goats and hear their stories. There were also some sheep and an alpaca at the farm as well. After heading in for the night, we enjoyed a nice campfire in the firepit set up by our campsite and in the morning got to see the goats come out before heading out for the day.
Additionally, this farm is a Nebraska Passport stop which we just learned about as well.
Highly recommend this fantastic camping and animals experience!

I knew this was my new favorite Hipcamp site within minutes of arriving. Goats, sheep, dogs, cats, turkeys, a llama, Yada Yada Yada.. Did I mention goats? Also deer in the woods and creek around the property.
I had the whole place to yourself, and it was so peaceful. There is a camp toilet, so don't expect a glamping experience there. It does the job.
Wonderful host (I can't say enough, she's awesome), wonderful place. And goats!

I love camping at the goat sanctuary! I’ve stayed there twice now while doing a cross-country road trip. It’s far enough off the beaten path to offer peace and quiet, but not so far off the path to be inconvenient. Jen is a welcoming host and the goats are charming. It’s nice to be able to camp there with my dog. The campsite is spacious and includes a fire pit (with wood provided) and a camp toilet. It’s a perfect spot if you happen to be passing through.

The camping spot was secluded and quiet. Easy loop to get in and out. Fire pit available and the walking paths were nice to take advantage of after a day of driving. Jen gave a great meet and greet with the goats! So many loving, sweet goats. I was even able to hold the youngest one. So cute! Starry sky and beautiful sun rise.

This was such an amazing and unique place and we would definitely recommend it!!! Jen is so super nice and has such a passion for these animals she cares for. We got so much hands on with the goats. She is full of information and will answer any questions you have about the animals or anything else. We happened to be there for the goat yoga class the next day and I’m so glad we had the opportunity to go. Such a cool experience and we will definitely be back. Being an animal lover myself, she was really an inspiration!!!

We had such an amazing time camping here! It was totally quiet and serene and we got to meet so many amazing goats (Also a pony, a cow, several sheep and a shy llama). Jen is a great host, very responsive and extremely knowledgeable. We'll totally be back.

I tent camped with my 8 and 5yo daughters. We felt secluded and safe at the camping site. The ground was level and well cleared with plenty of room for our vehicle and tent, and loads of extra space to relax. Jen taught us about how she is helping care for families of animals, and was very kind and accommodating.

Jen's place about 30 miles south of Lincoln is beautiful! We tent camped. The spot was great! Great areas to pitch a tent, fire ring and porta-potty nearby, and so much natural beauty and peace and quiet! Jen was a fantastic host. Communication was on-point, she greeted us and provided firewood and water. We didn't stay long enough to interact with the goats too much, but they were so cute! Our stay included a perfect balance of hospitality and privacy. I highly recommend Jen's place!

I wanted to camp somewhere out of the way where it would be possible to not run into other campers. We had a lovely spot, just us, a nice quick tour of the animals, and beautiful stars at night. Only a camp toilet but for one night that’s doable :)

We had a great time camping on Jen's land. Our tent camping spot was a great size and trails around the property were nicely maintained. We were across from a lovely field with a creek on the other side. We had fun exploring the creek and got to see a turkey family. Great stargazing as well. Jen was really generous in showing us around her goat rescue and she let our 12 year old help feed the animals at dinnertime. All around fun time and Jen is a great host. We will be back!
