We have been recycling this farm for years. It was owned previously by a couple who worked for a nursery and they planted many varieties of trees. Later it was part of a Manitoba pilot project for hi-bred poplar so there is a 14 acre poplar forest that was planted on a grid. It is a very unique place. We love it here and hope you do too! Learn more about this land: Enjoy over 40 beautiful acres within the heart of the prairies at Blacknot Farm! Perfect for pitching a tent or parking your RV, camper van, or trailer. A wonderful family-friendly getaway only 20 minutes north of Winnipeg, and 10 minutes from Selkirk, Manitoba. There is outdoor access to restrooms, water, and electricity on the property. With 5 sites to choose from, you can select a very quiet and peaceful spot in the trees or field or choose to be closer to the house and barn with wifi signal, running water and flush toilets. While you’re here, you can go on nature walks, raid the garden, play yard games, enjoy a bonfire, and explore the woods. If interested, ask for a tour of the 3 season party hayloft with antiques, vintage video games, an old pool table, and a zip line. We have stationary and portable fire pits for your campsite. We can help with some firewood for campfires, a picnic table to enjoy your meals, and potable water that is available through a tap (both hot and cold water). All sites can be accessed by a traditional car, no off-roading or 4-wheel drive vehicle is needed.  If you’re interested in exploring the area,  Selkirk, Manitoba has plenty of fishing and a marine museum.  We are also a short drive to Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site. Oak Hammock Marsh Wildlife Management Area is a 17-minute drive. One of North America’s birding hotspots and a great destination for people of all ages! This 36km2 Wildlife Management Area features a restored prairie marsh, aspen-oak bluff, waterfowl lure crops, artesian springs, some of Manitoba’s last remaining patches of tall-grass prairie and 30 kilometres of trails for you to explore. Gimli or New Iceland is about a 30-minute drive north and is a great summer or winter destination. Rich in history, art, culture and outdoor discovery it has many restaurants, lovely beaches and the New Iceland Heritage Museum. Our time there was quiet and Cindy gave us a full measure of privacy. The only downside was the traffic noise from highway 8.

Camping in the Poplar trees was relaxing. It is fairly close to the hwy, but it was not too loud and we could hear the wind blowing through the trees not the vehicles on the hwy:) and the trees provided a nice wind block on a very windy weekend!

Cindy is an A+ host. Extremely responsive and very accommodating. The property is beautiful. I had a 30ft RV and had everything I needed (water, electricity and dump). Had a great one night stay and would gladly stay again. There are two dogs on the property and Cindy made the effort to introduce myself and family to the more “excited” dog so it could be aware of our presence. Otherwise we did not see the dog during our stay.

There are a lot of space for summer/winter camping. During summer I bet it's especially lovely to be among the wood. Even during winter camping it's quite calm and peaceful.

Very beautiful place, a large land / farm with a barn. The owner, Cindy is very welcoming and she makes sure that everything we need to enjoy our stay. We were close to the barn so we had electricity and water. When leaving, we had access to the dump station. We visited the little town of Gimli which is very beautiful to see with a large beach. I do recommend Blacknot Farm and would return for sure.

What a great weekend! This quiet, peaceful little getaway was just what we needed to escape the busyness of life. The farm is beautifully treed, the resident dogs are friendly, the night sky was dark enough to see stars and northern lights, and, most importantly, the hosts were gracious, friendly and very welcoming. We’ll be back!

Cindy has a beautiful property, and we felt so fortunate to stay there. We just stayed for one night, but would gladly go back and recommend to everyone. Communication was clear, and she made us feel very welcome.

The place was easy to find, located near the highway. Quiet, private and rustic. Lovely bush bunnies and flowers. Washroom was available. Electric connection was basic. Cindy was a nice host.

Cindy’s place is so nice! Super easy to get to, truly right on the highway. Although close, traffic was so quiet we barely could tell we were so close! Her property is absolutely beautiful and supplied so well! We were even treated with a double rainbow last night! Now when you’re thinking camp washrooms- nothing can prepare you for how insanely nice the washrooms are here!! It felt so luxurious after many nights camping cross Canada!! Highly recommend for anyone headed to this area!

I liked our stay at Cindy’s land. It was very peaceful, and Cindy is also very helpful as well making a handful of accommodations for us. The host is very easy to reach to reach and responds quickly. I would definitely stay here again!

The campsite worked well for our pop up camper. Cindy was very helpful and accommodating. Electricity was via an extension cord (either 14 or 16 gauge), so if you need a lot of power it may not work for you; we never ran our a/c but it powered our electric heater and fridge just fine. The location is right off a busy highway, and I think you’d hear it no matter which site you’re staying at. Washroom was fine, there’s no shower; we used one of those bagged camp showers and filled it with hot water from the sink. Otherwise it was very private, only saw Cindy during check in and heard her dogs the first morning (received an unnecessary apology for a little barking), they were quiet the rest of our stay. It’s a nice location centrally located to explore both Winnipeg and all of the small towns up Lake Winnipeg and Hecla Island (be sure to get your provincial park pass ahead of time).

Cindy was a wonderful host who took my niece on a tour of her beautiful grounds. We visited her Etsy store, saw where she hosts weddings, took a gazillion photos of the scenic and unique spots all over the farmland, picked a bouquet of flowers on the outskirts of the property, and had such a lovely glamping experience with our trailer hooked up to her electricity and with a view through the foliage from the trailer to the swing set my niece was perpetually on at the front of the barn. The walks were all cleanly mowed and we walked our puppy around without fear of ticks…we had the entire site to ourselves which was amazing. She brought us lots of fresh fire wood so we happily hosted Two different couple friends who drove up from the city to hang with us, and my sister who camped overnight in a tent with her kids. It felt serene, safe, and comfortable with lush bathrooms and wifi close to the farm house. Her dogs are friendly but ours has no recall and we were out at the beach and Gimli so didn’t have the dogs play. Matlock beach is only 12 min away and quiet, good for families. We’d also recommend the restaurant in the golf course that’s 10 min away and was a nice treat. If you’re looking for a convenient, comfortable, beautiful spot in nature free of ticks and mud, with a gazillion Instagrammable spots, I can’t recommend Blacknot Farm more!

We had a great stay at Blacknot Farm. We were welcomed by Cindy, who showed us around and let us pick where we wanted to camp. The spot back in the poplars was the best. Very nice, and quite private as well.

We stayed one night and this became our favourite site on our cross-country trip. Cindy is awesome and gave us a short walkthrough of the property and our pick of site. The property is beautiful and spacious with some great views and scenery. A lot of love and care went into creating a great location and it shows!

This was our second visit to Blacknot farm and both were fantastic experiences! Lots of room to camp, bathrooms are super clean, and Cindy is great! Can't wait to go black again next year!

Lovely farm and poplar forest on the property. Cindy was a lovely host as well. In future would tent in the forest to help reduce sound from the highway, and also it's just super cool.

Nice campground with a warm and clean washroom. Cindy is a great host, very welcoming and nice enough to offer firewoods. I camped next to the barn, where was near the highway, the noise could be loud when some trucks passed by. It’s a big place and suitable for group’s camping.
