The site was very quiet and also not that far from some different gas stations or amenities. There's not a whole lot going on at Damon's place for good or ill and he did provide the hose and the garbage can which were useful

Great getaway
1st time camping in my life and it’s very calm and relaxing and you get all the privacy you want. I really enjoyed the peace n quiet and doing fires

Peaceful Camping
I had a great experience here. I was able to bring my small dog with me and it was such a beautiful scenery. They had a fire pit right by our spot and very peaceful. Next time I will be bring my fishing pole as there were a lot of fish popping up. We have been driving from San Diego so a great place to camp and slow down and listen to the wild life at night.

Very quiet
Damon was an excellent host, with good communication. We had no problems reaching him and he was home to show us where to park upon arrival. The spot was nice and level, solid ground even with recent rain, and easily fit our 35 fifthwheel with room to spare. Water hookups no problem, garbage on site, and right next to a very pretty pond.
Another bonus is that this site is a relatively short drive into Baton Rouge.
That being said we had just one issue which is a pretty easy fix. The site needs to have a dedicated heavy gauge wiring setup to support 30 amp. We were only able to get 20 Amp which was a bit too cold for the season being that we couldn't run all of our electric heaters else we would trip the breaker. And it's a bit of an overcharge just to park and use 20 amps power.
But we did like it, the area is beautiful, and we would consider staying here again if the power supply can be corrected.

Cozy spot tucked away from the main metro area. Quiet and Dark. Damon is a super nice human and will take care of you.

We arrived when it was dark (our mistake and a lesson for future hipcamp stays). It was difficult to determine which space was ours and not having a smart phone I was not able to contact Stephen. There was a sign out in front of the driveway but it was still difficult to decipher. We ended up staying at a hotel in the neighboring city.
In the future I would show up during the daytime!

Good fishing and relaxing.
Enjoyed our stay. Nice quiet spot on the side of the property Damon had an electrical cord waiting on us as we arrived after dark. Easy to find nice and secluded next to a lake. Backed my truck up write next to the lake used the bed of my truck as the table. Caught some catfish and bass.

Spot by the lake is really nice, the hose and extension cord were helpful to have. Very nice place to lie our heads for the night. Just wish I saw a gator before we kept going west!

Horseshoe Bend River Camp
It was easy to find and close to town but far enough away that it was pretty quiet, we only heard the occasional car pass on the adjacent road. The host was nice and accommodating but let us have space, he told us how to access the internet if we needed, offered us a hose for water, a cord for electricity, and a bucket with a seat for a toilet. The maintenance man was nice but very conversational. He had a sweet and very excitable pup.
It rained pretty hard in the middle of the night and when we woke we saw a few spots where water pooled a bit but the spaces where you would camp didn’t flood and we stayed nice and dry.
The lake was beautiful and in the morning we saw an egret. All in all a pleasant stay.

Great location. Close to services, but far enough out that you are in nature. There are lots of nooks and crannies for tents and flat spots for parking. The frogs and crickets sounds at night are beautiful. This is an easy camp and affordable camp spot. Host is welcoming and available, but gives you privacy as desired.
