Hones Pointe was established in 1988. It was built by four insurance agents to elude our sales managers in a unique natural setting. Over the years, we have planted many different varieties of trees and perennials to observe. Also evidence exists of this area being an Indian camp long ago as suggested by arrowheads and an old handmade rock wall.  Primitive camping where you can pick your own scenic spot. We will furnish picnic table, fire ring, garbage can, and charcoal grill during your campout. Welcome!

Best primitive site we've ever had!
The site we got was perfect! Everything was exactly what primitive camping should be, plus so much more. All neighboring sites were perfectly spaced out, there was a petting zoo, what mote could you ask for? We were right on the river with a bench swing that had the perfect view! The sheep came to greet us in the morning and the goat was such a lover. He wanted soooo many scratches. Would definitely stay here again!

Our new favorite family camping spo
This place is amazing. Most sites are very spread out, lots of variety (for example, sites tucked in the trees, or out in the meadow, or along the creek, or near the common area). There is a ton to do without leaving the property, like exploring the creek or trails, games, and a playset. We also loved that each spot was clearly marked and there is solar lighting to help walk back from the bathroom at night. Since you're far from any city or highway, it's quiet at night (unless you're near the farm by the entrance or petting zoo, you'll hear the critters) and there are a bazillion stars. Within a few miles is a really cool roadside store (Pharm) and old bridge to explore/fish. The creek alongside the property is great for seeing fossils and critters, the kids explored it for a few hours and probably would have played there all afternoon. The property is also super clean and well maintained. Seriously, this is our new favorite place.

Hones Pointe Campground RV SITE
Nice campground.
The campground itself is very nice and in a beautiful location. There are some fabulous campsites - most are best for tent camping. There are only a couple sites appropriate for RV hookups. There are many tables, chairs, hammocks, etc. on the property as well as a playground, volleyball courts and other activities.. There is a large gazebo area with a grill, TV, tables, bar, etc. which I was unsure how it would be used on a busy summer weekend. The RV spaces are near it so it is unknown if this area is busy at night which could be disturbing. We were the only ones there for our four days so things were quiet and peaceful. We did have to wait when we arrived as we did not know where to go and could not reach Steve. He did finally come and showed us where our site was. We did not see or hear from him during the stay. We were unable to fully empty our tanks as the dump location overflowed - not sure if it is a septic system or if it is occasionally pumped out. We did enjoy the stay and would book there again if assured the gazebo area would not be disturbing.

Hones Pointe Campground RV SITE
Had a blast at Hones Pointe. We stayed in an RV site which was very private and quiet. This place is one of the most unique campgrounds we have been to. If you are a tent camper, this is 100% the spot for you. Steve has a ton of secluded tent sites with their theme which seem to go along with the surroundings of each site. From what we could tell they have power as well. Hones Pointe even has a small petting zoo, volleyball nets, and a playground. The property seemed well maintained. Steve has a pretty good deal on firewood and delivers it to your site. If you call ahead, it will be delivered to your site before you even get there.

Gorgeous Campsite
We loved the exclusiveness of the camp's site. Wish there had been showers, but the pilot was close and we showered and did laundry there. It is so gorgeous here. If we ever find ourselves back in Kentucky and in need of a campsite, this will be it.

Steve was a great and responsive host. Property was clean and so beautiful! We've never stayed at a HipCamp before and couldn't be happier with our first experience. It was quiet, clean, spacious. Each camp site had a fire pit, grill & seats! Definitely would stay here again.

The property is amazing. We came in on a Monday almost had the place to ourselves. Keep in mind it is late September. Lovely nature walks. it is very quite and peaceful, plenty to do for kids. The Gazebo Bar and lounge Steve has set up is perfect for a cold beer or drink. Make sure you bring all your food so you don't have to leave , there is a local store and downtown le Grange is not far. There is a planet fitness not far if you need a HOT shower. Steve is super friendly and good communicator . Highly recommend .

I’m in love…
I looooove this campground. I just went here for my second time? And it was just as great as the 1st time. People I've taken with me have all said that they would make this a go to spot. Everything is clean and clear for tent set up on the regular campsites. This is ideal if you’re bringing kids with you. There are animal to see all over the place and you can fish from several of the camp lots. The owner is super nice, its animal and kid friendly.

Remote camping feel, close by
I was looking for something more distanced from the crowd, being more used to primitive camping (think Red River Gorge back in the wooded area). While this wasn't RRG, and wouldn't claim to be, they have at least a couple sites that are far enough removed that you wouldn't know you were in a campground. We stayed in the North Field site, and never would have known other campers were anywhere in the area. Not a fire in the distance at night, not a sound from other campers, and amazing view of the stars at night. We may as well have been in the middle of nowhere. This paired with very close access to whatever facilities we may have needed, if we felt like going to them. Steve is highly responsive and very helpful. I strongly recommend this campground for a wide variety of camping preferences.

The Best of Wilderness Camping!
We had an excellent time. My son and I came to try out our Jeep overlanding gear to make sure we have enough systems to survive on the trail in the boondocks. Wouldn't you know it, we only forgot...WATER! Thankfully there was potable water available at your campground. I love the boondocks feel with large campsites and a river right next to us.

I was surprised at all they had to offer and how wall taken care of the land is. Felt like we had acres all to ourselves. We camped right by the creek, saw a little bit of a movie on a projector, and my daughter enjoyed playing the magnetic dartboard and playing on the swingset
