Camping with Wine! Yes, Please!
Great location with everything needed. Mark had thoughtful touches at each campsite; fire pit (with perfect poker sticks) and picnic table (with a fly swatter). The sites are easily accessible with plenty of room and good privacy.
The communication was excellent and Mark let us know how to reach him if we needed anything when he was out. I need to mention that Mark is also very generous, kind, and informative about the area. We really enjoyed talking to him and would love to visit again.

Site 7 - 99 Bottles Winery Hills
Campsite #7 was up on a hill and we woke up to the most beautiful views of the farmlands surrounding us. Quiet, peaceful, windy, but lovely. Mark was very hospitable and interesting to talk to. We didn’t get to try the wines because of a wedding that was using the property, but we will be back.

Love Love Love!
My husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary this weekend at this beautiful spot. We had an amazing time. Beautiful scenery, beautiful sunset, sky full of stars, and good wine! Bathrooms were very clean and well kept and had hot water for a shower! Highly recommend! Mark was super friendly and attentive! We can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic Camping Experience
2nd time at 99 Bottles Winery. Excellent like the 1st time! It wasn’t full this time but even if full, the place is so peaceful and quiet! Lots of star gazing! Mark, the host, is amazing and attentive! He even opened up the winery for us to sample some wines. Highly recommend this place and will be back next year!

Great views and site
This is truly a beautiful campsite! Plenty of options spending on if you are RV or tent camping. We stayed at site #5 and had some of the best views over fields and hills. The host was responsive and available when needed. Highly recommended!!!

3rd time!!!
This is actually my 3rd time here. Fun place to stay and I always forget to write a review. I stay in the same spot each time (spot 5 I think) and love it. Highest peak (tight for an RV btw) and perfect tenting spot (rooftop even better imo). A fan of the owners so I am loyal. I am treated wonderful every-time despite a tasting room that can get busy. I have never used the shower, but I consider this a must stay if I am passing through on my road-trip/s (I even deviate a bit to stay here). Make sure you try all the wines. There are some that are not on the 'taste list'. This place has a great vibe and very peaceful.

A gem!!
A perfect spot in northern Iowa! Spacious sites, all with excellent views of the surrounding countryside, and clean bathrooms. A gracious host with good stories made our morning. We’ll be back to experience the wine and enjoy the tasting area! Such a great base to explore the area.

Beautiful views!
I really liked this little spot. On a hill above cornfields that’s you can see for miles, it was actually quite pretty and pretty close to clear lake. The vineyard was across the street.

Not for Tents
I reserved a space for a tent and we got a gravel RV spot with no shade. We tried to put our chairs under nearby trees but biting flies from the nearby pasture were intolerable. We had booked three nights but left after one night when it got too hot in the morning to cope. There is nothing around for miles.

Perfectly charming! Mark and his wife are genuinely friendly, amazing hosts. Campsites are spacious. The bathrooms and shower are clean and convenient. The winery is so adorable, all the wines were very good! I would definitely recommend staying at 99 Bottles Winery!!!

The Best Camping Experience
I was absolutely blown away by how wonderful this place is. From the incredibly friendly hosts, to the gorgeous location, to the wine…this one is going to be hard to top! I’ve been to several wineries in Iowa and in the surrounding states and can whole heartedly say 99 Bottles wine is the best among them - and some of the best wine I’ve had period. The location is idyllic. In fact, my spot was nestled in among the vines thanks to the nicest hosts ever. When they heard which spot I had (spot 3 is more designed for RV campers rather than tent or car campers) they went out of their way to bring up a picnic table to the new spot they are working on. I couldn’t believe it! Stay here, stay a few nights, have a fantastic time!

The camp was in a lovely, quiet spot surrounded by vineyards. We were the only ones there that night so it was truly peaceful. It would be a great spot to camp with a group of good friends. There was plenty of room.

Mark and June have a great property with all the amenities you could ever imagine! Great bathrooms, tasty wine and a hosting charm that really sets this place apart.
Mark was even able to help return some bags we accidentally left behind during a boat rental at the nearby Clear Lake; truly amazing service!

Fun for kids and adults!
Mark is a fantastic host! We came for the second time this year. Six adults, nine kids with 4 tents!
The kids love riding bikes around and truly being kids in nature. We also enjoy the waterpark in town on a hot day! The wine is delicious, and the scenery is breathtaking!

Site 4 - 99 Bottles Winery Hills
Better for campers than for tents
Overall, this was a pretty cool experience. 99 Bottles has gone out of their way to ensure that most of their guest's needs are taken care of - the legitimate flush toilets and showers at a campground in the middle of nowhere is an incredible amenity. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and took time out of their day to meet and spend time with us, even though we knew there were more important things they could be doing.
Each of the sites is quite a distance from each other which gives a decent amount of privacy.
That being said: as a tent camper, I probably wouldn't return to this campground. We were in site #4 (probably the most private of all of the sites), and we were unable to find a piece of ground that would allow us to set up the tent on a flat space. Overall, it was level, but the roughness of the terrain just was a bit too much. There were two or three random holes (6"-8" across) in different areas which we took pains to avoid, but were easily hidden by the grass.
We walked to each of the other sites, and determined that they wouldn't have worked for us any better. The land appears to be overburden from a gravel or mining operation, and the rough rocks and boulders don't really allow for a flat surface for the tents.
Some of the other reviews noted the wind; we also experienced this during our stay. The campground is out in the fields of northcentral Iowa - if you look around, you can see wind turbines in every direction, so we shouldn't have been surprised.

After being misguided by a phone app to find a campsite close to Prairie Du Chen we came upon “99 bottles winery” in Iowa!
Mark & June made our short stay so enjoyable! Mark even had a canister of propane that we forgot to pack.
Live music in their charming winery/yard made for an enjoyable evening after a stressful confusing day.
Highly recommend this tranquil piece of heaven!

Best campground! Will be back!!
We had a ‘girls’ camping weekend and We loved the campground! It was pretty, peaceful and felt private. It’s at/on a winery and near stuff to do. Enjoyed a really nice meal at cafe mir in Fertile. Visited buddy Holly crash site. Checked out Pilot Knob state park. Bathrooms at campground were very nice. Hosts were so kind. Also enjoyed hanging out at the winery on Saturday. We had a camper and we’re on site 1, right by the bathrooms. We all agreed it was one of our favorite places to stay.
