Aron and his wife were so welcoming and helpful! They showed me a of couple campsite options and had great suggestions of where to hike nearby. The campsite itself was secluded (as described) and just what a campsite should be (it had a flat area, a fire ring and perfect hammocking spaces). Thank you!

Secluded, Relaxing, Worth Exploring
Camping on the sand mountain was exactly what I was hoping for. The road up to the parking area does take some careful driving and at least All Wheel Drive but when you arrive partially up the mountain you start to understand why the hosts choose to live on the property. The views of the surrounding landscape are wonderful and get better as you move up the mountain. The hosts graciously gave me a quick tour of the different sites they have available and rightly suggested a site partially up the mountain with wonderful views of the valley below. During this tour it became clear the hosts know their property very well as they continued to point out small areas of interest among the rock gardens and along the old logging path. My dog and I spent a full day relaxing on the mountain and took a few trips up towards to the top where you find even more interesting rock formations and some vertical cliffs that rise to the very top. It is important to keep your sense of direction as you travel up the mountain as it might be easy to get turned around but the experience is very much worth it. Overall camping here gave me the secluded relaxing experience I was looking for. I would love to plan a trip back with a bigger group to explore the mountain even more and to possibly find the hidden cave I did not have time to look for. Anyone interested in non-conventional building methods will also be interested in what the hosts are working on. They have a fun project on their hands and it was fun to discuss it with them.

Quite reprieve
Very private, well kept space. There’s a cleared, flat spot for a tent next to a campfire a short walk from the car. There’s also enough room for another tent if camping with friends. The host was kind and welcoming and offers advice on nearby hiking. They also provide firewood and a cart to help carry your camping supplies. There is also very little noise aside from the occasional fox.

Hosts were very welcoming and hospitable. They helped to get our gear up to the campsite, and walked us through some of their pet projects they have been developing onsite. Very neat. Campsite was well cleared out and private. Plenty of firewood was provided, along with a cart to transport. Tripod grill came in handy. Had a great time and would gladly stay again. Listen for the occasional friendly fox :)

This was an incredible campsite! My group and I had a great time. It truly felt like we were camping in the mountains, especially with the sweetest cat and passing-by turtle who hung out with us. Aaron and his wife were amazing hosts, I cannot thank them enough. There was a wide variety of activities to do even though we were pressed on time. Aaron gave us a guided hike up the mountain and there were a ton of notable sights and cool rock formations, including one of the most badass caves I've ever seen. I highly recommend this site, whether just for a nights rest or for an extended period visit.

Wonderful except for the mud
Aaron was a great host and even gave us a tour of the property. Our campsite was tucked well away in the woods and gave us the privacy we desired. We were not expecting to have such difficulty based on the recent rainfall. Our truck was not able to reach the head of the trail to our campsite because the head is also a major excavation site. It was very difficult to get through the wet clay to access our campsite trail which caused us to spend several hours unloading our gear and carrying it all through the wet clay. Aaron talked about how beautiful the view of the mountains is when there is less foliage. We were able to hike to see a good view where the road was cut but could not see it from our site. Once the campsite was set up we had a great time.

This campsite was fantastic! There were several nicely cleared sites, each with their own fire ring set up and ready for a campfire. We chose a site that was a 5 minute hike up the mountain, although there were closer sites that didn’t require a hike, we enjoyed the added adventure and privacy of the beautiful forest. Our hosts went above and beyond to introduce us to their property and make us feel welcomed, even sharing some of their fresh homemade brews. The tripod camping grill we borrowed cooked us a delicious dinner, as well. With close proximity to Cloudland Canyon, but without all the crowds, this was the perfect place for us to camp and enjoy the outdoors before hiking the canyon the next morning. Would highly recommend this site!

We camped here for 2 nights in a row and it was a great place. Aron and his wife took us for a hike to around their property and learned a lot about the natural history of the area. We would certainly recommend people go along on a guided hike.
There was plenty of pre-cut fire wood that served us well over the weekend and they were very friendly. I would recommend this camping spot.

Great stay
We enjoyed our stay! It was a lovely stay just a few miles away from Cloudland canyon state park. Our host and his wife were very eager to help with anything needed and were very kind. One suggestion- bring tick/bug spray! And give your dog tick meds before going.

Pleasant hike in weekend camp.
As someone who normally backpacks out to camp or reserves walk in sites at parks, my expectation was a cleared area with a fire ring and open spots for the campers in the group. This is exactly what I found. With ridges and mountains peeking through the trees, there was ample tree-cover to keep the camp cool and the ground around the main area and fire ring cleared. Ample kindling and downed wood were available that the camp host allowed to supplement our hauled in fire wood. This in conjunction with a supplied hanging pit grill made for some great camp meals. The hosts, who live on property were delightful. It was clear that they wanted the group to feel welcome on their land and even brought ribs to share with the camp along with some suggestions of local outdoor activities and informed us of the on site treated water system for cleaning or filterable water. All in all, a wonderful little spot close to Lula Land trust and Cloudland Canyon only a few minutes away from the crowded parks. Next time I lead a hike in the area, I will be reserving the camp at this property.
