A unique, but fun experience
The camping is rugged. Make sure you bring gear to prep a campsite and clear small sapling and leaves. (Matthew also has stuff he can give you if you need help with this) Also make sure to have rain gear, we got rained on. (Our own fault lol)
Overall a very fun experience, lots of land to explore. Make sure to come early to get the full experience.
Matthew is a great host who is communicable and willing to help with any need you may have.
Parking is safe and easily accessible, was able to use the driveway with a charger.
Would recommend for anyone trying to do a little more backcountry style camping or simply looking for a unique experience.

Great Mountain Camping Experience
First of all- I have to start out by saying Matthew is literally the most incredible host I’ve ever stayed with. He was warm and inviting from the moment we pulled up the driveway. As a young queer couple staying in rural Northern Georgia, it was nice to feel welcome on his property where it felt like we were in not welcome in many other places in the surrounding area. On top of this, Matthew ensured we were prepared for our stay by offering us advice and providing us some things we had left back home.
Now I must prepare you- if you are planning on doing some hiking and outdoor exploration near the area, get to the site before going out to explore so you can set your camp up before sundown. It is a hike up the mountain to get to the site, but it’s not too difficult. My partner and I were given the opportunity to create our own path and campsite so make sure to check out the 813 Pride site! 🌈❤️
All in all, Matthew has a beautiful property and provides an amazing, purely secluded experience.

Very Misleading. Don’t go here.
You are better off camping at home. Did not feel safe.

For true campers
This is a true campsite there's no water there's no bathroom so if you go to this camping understand that it is for true campers if you like to be in the woods and secluded this is it. Unfortunately we went hiking at Tallulah gorge before coming we were so damn tired that we couldn't even set up our own tent we just decided to go home since we only lived an hour away we're going to have to try this site again we didn't get to stay. Matthew the hostess was very understanding we even got s'mores unfortunately we just didn't get to eat them. There's also a waterfall at the very top of the camp about 2 mi up I definitely wasn't going to do that my legs were like rubber after hiking at Tallulah gorge next time we'll set up first and then go to Tallulah gorge. Also I wouldn't suggest this site for children unless you raised him to be wild like my boys. Lol. There was also no picnic table which could be problematic for someone that doesn't thoroughly pack.

Catfish Camp
The one and only campsite was not where it was described to be in description, nor were there any trails on site.

The trip was amazing. My boyfriend and I brought our dog and we had so much fun! Matthew was VERY helpful. He lent us things that we had forgotten like an axe for wood and an extra tarp. He greeted us with ingredients for s’mores which was really sweet. The waterfalls are beautiful but very cold haha. We went on a weekend and it rained all day one day and Matthew was kind enough to chop up some firewood and keep it dry for us in case we needed it (we did). It was a lot of fun and safe. He told us procedures on how to stay safe from animals and was always available and on call if we needed any help or were in any danger. Overall it was a very cool experience. Full warning his place is very mountainous and it is kind of like his backyard but if you go far enough you would have no idea/ remember that you’re close to society. The location is really nice. It’s a very small town but with a lot of cool things such as Goats on the Roof and Tallulah park and falls. So thank you Matthew we had a lot of fun and plan on coming back!

Explorer’s dream!
Matt was incredibly helpful and saved my solo New Year's camping trip! This is certainly more suited for backpacking and adventurous hikes. The inclines are steep and the land was new and campers are still creating and sharing trails on the property. Fun for a group of fit and adventurous group, but I played it safe when exploring since this was my first solo trip in two years.
Regardless, I enjoyed setting up a 2 person tent by the stream close to the workshop. I felt safe, comfortable, and Matt was proactive with communication and very accommodating. My Prius had no problem in the driveway with the rain and leaves. The surrounding area has lots to do from nature hikes and waterfalls to exploring mountain towns and antique stores.
I will certainly return with a backpack and friends for another adventure!

Awesome Place to Stay!
We had a great time camping at Pure Seclusion! Matthew is a super sweet and thoughtful guy. He showed us around his property, which is a beautiful piece of land, and we got to camp out by a little creek! 5 out of 5 stars, thank you!
