My property is extremely secluded and private. Located two miles from beautiful Lake Burton and less than 10 miles from gorgeous, jaw-dropping waterfalls and landmarks. There are great opportunities nearby for trout fishing. Timpson Creek Farms is literally a walk away for organically grown fruits, vegetables, fresh honey, jams, and horseback riding; also nearby is Blackbear Creek Antiques for awesome merchandise, as well as Timpson Creek Art Gallery. Welcome for the opportunity to truly enjoy nature! There are X campsites up mountain trails on Silver Mountain. My home is located at the top of the driveway – far away from the sites. This is camping on “raw” land up on a mountain with acres to explore. It is a steep climb, very rocky, and there are areas that where caution is extremely recommended. Previous knowledgeable campers, have taken it upon themselves to make sites more comfortable. Most sites have a “store-bought” firepits to make cooking a little easier. You still need to know how to start a fire. Above my property line is an old quarry, which was abandoned years ago. There is also a bat cave (which my dog found). Many arrowheads, from the Cherokee Indian tribes; civil war bullets, and crystals have been found. Please be aware, less you forget, that there are many kinds of wildlife and birds, wild flowers, blueberries. Please take precautions not to leave food outside to attract animals. Under no circumstances is it appropriate to shoot an animal or fire weapons. The weather schedule here is not the same as downtown Clayton because we are at a much higher elevation. Make sure that your gear is water-tight. Hammock tents are, the best for a good night’s sleep. Automobiles are limited two per campsite. Arrangements have been made with a local business for off site parking. X number of people are allowed per campsite. Unregistered visitors are not allowed on the property. There is no Wi-Fi connection! Loud music or out of parties are not allowed. Each site will be given a walkie-talkie at the meet & greet, should you need to contact me. If given 48 hours, I will be glad to prepare your site for you. I have firewood available at $12 x per bundle. It is located at the bottom of trail site for pick-up, if you need it. No outrageously high fires are allowed. Please do not cut down trees. No calls after 10:00 p.m., unless it is an emergency. Novice campers will be assigned to level areas. Brush up on your camping skills. Respect the land and the environment. Leave your site as clean as you find it. Items you might want to add to your checklist: • Tarps • Ax • Shovel for burying body waste • Tools for starting a fire at your campsite If you have forgotten certain things, I do have limited gear available for lease. Returning campers will given a discount. Camping in the woods
Matthew was super welcoming and friendly, gave us a bundle of firewood and marshmallows when he came to greet us. The campsite is secluded and very private in the middle of the woods. Thank you Matthew!!

Get there before dark!
Beautiful area! Matthews land is minutes from downtown Clayton, yet away in the mountains. You’re about 15-20 minutes away from numerous great waterfalls and mountains. We did Black Mountain State Park and managed to get two hikes in over a weekend stay. Our stay was great, except for our late arrival. I definitely recommend getting there before dark, as we had a lot of trouble finding our site. Matthew is very giving. He provides access to his firewood, and is open to questions and concerns.

Not for the novice camper; extreme!
This was real! Pay attention to Mathew’s commentary on what to expect and what to highly consider bringing with you. My buddy and I were fishing a lake way South of this. Campsite (few hours). On a whim due to no luck catching the bass we were after, we decided to head North and move to a different and potentially better fishing spot. Mathew’s place caught our eye so we locked in. We arrived very late, but Mathew took us in anyway. Once he guided us to parking; he pointed toward the forest and UP. He showed us where to enter the mountain, and so we did. This place is not for the novice camper; this is extreme camping in beautiful terrain. Once we got setup, our fire made and settled in, it was really peaceful and serene. Great place to hike; nature at its best on all levels and fronts. Minutes from lakes and not far from charming small city life for supplies. I could see myself going back here. However; I would arrive in the daytime and give myself plenty of time to find a flat surface (or excavate one) with the advantage of sunlight. I do not recommend showing up at 2AM and trying to pull your campsite together here. Enjoy!

Amazing campsite & Amazing host
To say Matthew was the BEST host we have ever had is such an understatement. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time and had everything we needed. He was not only kind but an amazing person who makes you wanna return again and again. He treated us as a friend rather than guests and really blew us away with his hospitality! Highly recommend this campsite, the land was beautiful and there is so much to see. The hike up to our site was not bad at all and it was the perfect area for us to set up camp. He has many locations that could fit just what you are looking for. It was also a perfect location for us to leave and go see some water falls and explore nearby hikes. Matt even gave us some of his must see recommendations and we are definitely glad we saw them... breath taking!! Our only complaint is that we didn't book to stay longer! We will definitely be back to visit again!!! If you are thinking about booking I promise you won't regret it!

This is such a cool property! It can be a fun adventurous hike to see a beautiful waterfall or it can be a peaceful nap next to the stream. It is honestly such a sanctuary. I can’t say enough about this place! The host, Matthew was so kind and brought us welcome s’mores and offered anything we forgot/needed/wanted. It was such an amazing stay and I 10/10 recommend!!!

A unique, but fun experience
The camping is rugged. Make sure you bring gear to prep a campsite and clear small sapling and leaves. (Matthew also has stuff he can give you if you need help with this) Also make sure to have rain gear, we got rained on. (Our own fault lol) Overall a very fun experience, lots of land to explore. Make sure to come early to get the full experience. Matthew is a great host who is communicable and willing to help with any need you may have. Parking is safe and easily accessible, was able to use the driveway with a charger. Would recommend for anyone trying to do a little more backcountry style camping or simply looking for a unique experience.

Great Mountain Camping Experience
First of all- I have to start out by saying Matthew is literally the most incredible host I’ve ever stayed with. He was warm and inviting from the moment we pulled up the driveway. As a young queer couple staying in rural Northern Georgia, it was nice to feel welcome on his property where it felt like we were in not welcome in many other places in the surrounding area. On top of this, Matthew ensured we were prepared for our stay by offering us advice and providing us some things we had left back home. Now I must prepare you- if you are planning on doing some hiking and outdoor exploration near the area, get to the site before going out to explore so you can set your camp up before sundown. It is a hike up the mountain to get to the site, but it’s not too difficult. My partner and I were given the opportunity to create our own path and campsite so make sure to check out the 813 Pride site! 🌈❤️ All in all, Matthew has a beautiful property and provides an amazing, purely secluded experience.

For true campers
This is a true campsite there's no water there's no bathroom so if you go to this camping understand that it is for true campers if you like to be in the woods and secluded this is it. Unfortunately we went hiking at Tallulah gorge before coming we were so damn tired that we couldn't even set up our own tent we just decided to go home since we only lived an hour away we're going to have to try this site again we didn't get to stay. Matthew the hostess was very understanding we even got s'mores unfortunately we just didn't get to eat them. There's also a waterfall at the very top of the camp about 2 mi up I definitely wasn't going to do that my legs were like rubber after hiking at Tallulah gorge next time we'll set up first and then go to Tallulah gorge. Also I wouldn't suggest this site for children unless you raised him to be wild like my boys. Lol. There was also no picnic table which could be problematic for someone that doesn't thoroughly pack.

Catfish Camp
The one and only campsite was not where it was described to be in description, nor were there any trails on site.

The trip was amazing. My boyfriend and I brought our dog and we had so much fun! Matthew was VERY helpful. He lent us things that we had forgotten like an axe for wood and an extra tarp. He greeted us with ingredients for s’mores which was really sweet. The waterfalls are beautiful but very cold haha. We went on a weekend and it rained all day one day and Matthew was kind enough to chop up some firewood and keep it dry for us in case we needed it (we did). It was a lot of fun and safe. He told us procedures on how to stay safe from animals and was always available and on call if we needed any help or were in any danger. Overall it was a very cool experience. Full warning his place is very mountainous and it is kind of like his backyard but if you go far enough you would have no idea/ remember that you’re close to society. The location is really nice. It’s a very small town but with a lot of cool things such as Goats on the Roof and Tallulah park and falls. So thank you Matthew we had a lot of fun and plan on coming back!

Explorer’s dream!
Matt was incredibly helpful and saved my solo New Year's camping trip! This is certainly more suited for backpacking and adventurous hikes. The inclines are steep and the land was new and campers are still creating and sharing trails on the property. Fun for a group of fit and adventurous group, but I played it safe when exploring since this was my first solo trip in two years. Regardless, I enjoyed setting up a 2 person tent by the stream close to the workshop. I felt safe, comfortable, and Matt was proactive with communication and very accommodating. My Prius had no problem in the driveway with the rain and leaves. The surrounding area has lots to do from nature hikes and waterfalls to exploring mountain towns and antique stores. I will certainly return with a backpack and friends for another adventure!

Awesome Place to Stay!
We had a great time camping at Pure Seclusion! Matthew is a super sweet and thoughtful guy. He showed us around his property, which is a beautiful piece of land, and we got to camp out by a little creek! 5 out of 5 stars, thank you!
