David was a good host. Everything was what it’s supposed to be. The view was beautiful kayaking was great. The bathrooms were clean no complaints. I would definitely go there again.

Incredible Rustic Cabin

We had an amazing time!! The cabin was rustic and opened up to an incredible waterfront view. Having coffee on the porch was incredible! Can't wait to go back again.

Best campsite ever!

David is amazing and so hospitable! His friend took us out on his pontoon boat, and went to his house to bring us pans to help us cook. The campsite has such beautiful views of the lake and a dock to fish anytime you want. If you have a kayak or some way to explore the lake definitely book this spot, even if you don’t you can rent from david for $10!! Worth every cent.

This was a last minute find for my husband and I. Upon arrival we had to message with David to set the actual address - it was a bit further down the road than the app lead us. Beautiful for sunset and sunrise views over the lake. There were nice campers using sites on both sides of us. Everyone was friendly and respectful of each other's space. If you are looking for a private secluded spot this is not where you want to be. It was charming and peaceful with a pleasant breeze coming off the water where you could sit u see the shade of big mossy oak trees. There is a communal outhouse in the middle of the property with a flushing toilet, running water sink, and shower. We did not use the shower so not sure how well it works. There are fire pits (firewood for sale there but we brought our own) and picnic tables at each site (beware of the wildlife - they will snatch your food right off the fire and tables. David was friendly and likes to hang out on his golf cart visiting with the campers.

Lakeside spots are great. Beautiful views of the water and spectacular sunsets. The host was fantastic. It was quiet barring just a bit of local traffic on the road. The bathhouse is functional but a little rough (old fish camp facilities).

I loved it, but a bit chilly with the wind coming off the lake! Absolutely gorgeous and will be back for sure to watch the pirates coming. Had a lifetime memory.

Really enjoyed the site. Lake was beautiful with lots of active wildlife. Great views. David was a great host. Easy drive to Crystal River and Rainbow Springs. Will be back next time in area.

Loved this Hipcamp! Quiet and relaxing site right on Lake Rousseau. Hosts were accommodating and helpful! Great spot very close to crystal river manatee tours and rainbow springs for swimming! Bathrooms are good and stocked with toilet paper, the shower even has hot water! Looking forward to staying again soon!

I stayed in the cabin, it is cute and clean and the bed is very comfortable. There is a small kitchen equipped with cooking utensils, bring your own spices, condiments, etc. The tap water has a high iron content so consider bringing water for drinking, coffee, etc. The campfire was great as was the company 😊

Absolutely beautiful lakeside spot. We booked last minute and David immediately responded and welcomed us to the site. Site 5 seemed to be the best, on the corner of the property so more privacy and a picturesque view. Be sure to wake up for sunrise to see the fog roll over the lake!

The nature is amazing at this spot- the sites overlook the lake and have incredible views of the bird across the water. The guys who are permanent residents are very kind and friendly, they made a fire each night and had great conversation! The amenities are very minimal- technically yes there is a toilet sink and shower but they are lacking maintenance and need a good cleaning. The water in the guest restroom has a strong rust smell to it so I personally didn’t risk drinking it

The views from my spot were just wonderful - water, birds overhead, trees with Spanish moss coming down. And David was very kind and friendly. Recommend a kayak on the river. This is a great base from which to explore the area.

what a spot. take a kayak out on the lake, then come back in and have a nice fire right on the shore and enjoy the stars. David's a kind, helpful host with a REALLY sweet chunk of paradise-- you'll be glad to have found this hidden gem

This camp site was great! The lake was absolutely beautiful and we even saw a soaring bald eagle flying high above as se were packing up to go home! The space was expansive and we felt very comfortable in our tent. Could get a little windy but we expected that on the open water. David was a great communicator and definitely made sure we were settled with lots of firewood even though we didn't get a chance to light one because of the wind. We will definitely come back to stay here!

Perfect quiet fish camp

Perfect for a quiet NYE night with my sister. We caught LOTS of fish (thanks Jimmy), slept great in the little cabin, enjoyed the fire until late and loved seeing Sandhill Cranes up close on the property! If you want to fish, this is the place. They have a holding tank so you can fish all night and finish the job in the morning. Fish & Grits on the fire? YES please. I'm planning my stay next year already.

We were disappointed with the cabin. We knew it would be rustic and not fancy, but within the first few minutes in the cabin we saw 6-8 lizards and multiple roaches, which put us off. It was musty and immediately bothered my wife’s allergies. Water coming out of the faucets was initially brown not clear so I’d advise bringing your own drinking water if you stay here(the water did clear up after running briefly, but still- I would have pause about drinking it). We left after a couple minutes and did not stay because of the above issues. We never met the host because it was evening when we were coming in but he was responsive with communication beforehand, and refunded our stay after we requested it. I did not get a good look at the area because it was night, so I cannot comment on the outdoor space. Might be a good place to pitch a tent. The cabin could be nice, but was not what we were expecting. If the listing had mentioned that its a little rough, may have bugs/lizards (as one might expect when in certain sleeping situations, which I understand), etc it would have helped us know if it was what we wanted for our stay.
