A beautiful property on the water. The cabin itself is quaint but sufficient. Being able to sit on the swing in the morning makes it all worth it. There may be bugs and lizards here and there but you’re probably booking this because you want to be close to nature so deal with it haha
It’s on a beautiful road and not too far out from Rainbow Springs/KP hole to go get on the river. Or of course you can stay on the property and get out on the lake right there!

We had a great time staying in the old fishing cabin. It was a glimpse into the Florida of decades ago. Right on the water, Spanish moss in the trees, birds flying overhead at sunset. The cabin is as cute as a button. Yes, you will need to bring your own drinking water. But everything else we needed was waiting for us in the cabin.

We loved staying in Davids old fishermans cabin. The cabin was clean and perfectly rustic. The property was beautifully located on the lake. (such a great view to walk out the door to) It was a great location for us to check out the area.

Our recent trip from Central California to visit family was made perfect by our decision to stay on Lake Rousseau. With our relatives living just two blocks from David's land, the location was ideal and convenient for spending quality time together. David and his entire staff exceeded our expectations in every way. Their deep knowledge of Lake Rousseau, combined with remarkable generosity and hospitality, made us feel exceptionally welcome and well cared for throughout our stay. We stayed in a quaint cabin that featured a convenient kitchenette. The space was not only comfortable and clean but also provided us with everything we needed for a relaxing visit. Each morning, we woke up to breathtaking views, which truly enhanced our experience. Our time at David's camp was unforgettable. We look forward to returning and will always choose to stay here whenever we visit. The combination of a beautiful setting, excellent accommodations, and outstanding hospitality makes David's camp our preferred destination.

My husband and I stayed in David's cabin for several nights & we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was cozy, but spacious enough for the two of us. It was very comfortably heated, which was great when the weather got down to the 30's overnight. The water was hot, perfect for the shower & washing dishes. But the thing that made this place special was being near the water & watching the many birds. We saw sandhill cranes, ibis, coots, ahinoules, & galinules here. We would definitely recommend David's place!

David was a good host. Everything was what it’s supposed to be. The view was beautiful kayaking was great. The bathrooms were clean no complaints. I would definitely go there again.

We had an amazing time!! The cabin was rustic and opened up to an incredible waterfront view. Having coffee on the porch was incredible! Can't wait to go back again.

David is amazing and so hospitable! His friend took us out on his pontoon boat, and went to his house to bring us pans to help us cook. The campsite has such beautiful views of the lake and a dock to fish anytime you want. If you have a kayak or some way to explore the lake definitely book this spot, even if you don’t you can rent from david for $10!! Worth every cent.

This was a last minute find for my husband and I. Upon arrival we had to message with David to set the actual address - it was a bit further down the road than the app lead us. Beautiful for sunset and sunrise views over the lake. There were nice campers using sites on both sides of us. Everyone was friendly and respectful of each other's space. If you are looking for a private secluded spot this is not where you want to be. It was charming and peaceful with a pleasant breeze coming off the water where you could sit u see the shade of big mossy oak trees.
There is a communal outhouse in the middle of the property with a flushing toilet, running water sink, and shower. We did not use the shower so not sure how well it works. There are fire pits (firewood for sale there but we brought our own) and picnic tables at each site (beware of the wildlife - they will snatch your food right off the fire and tables.
David was friendly and likes to hang out on his golf cart visiting with the campers.

Lakeside spots are great. Beautiful views of the water and spectacular sunsets. The host was fantastic. It was quiet barring just a bit of local traffic on the road. The bathhouse is functional but a little rough (old fish camp facilities).

Peace and quiet. Good conversations nightly around the campfire with the local group and guest. Great bass fishing. Looking forward to my next visit.

I loved it, but a bit chilly with the wind coming off the lake! Absolutely gorgeous and will be back for sure to watch the pirates coming. Had a lifetime memory.

Really enjoyed the site. Lake was beautiful with lots of active wildlife. Great views. David was a great host. Easy drive to Crystal River and Rainbow Springs. Will be back next time in area.

Loved this Hipcamp! Quiet and relaxing site right on Lake Rousseau. Hosts were accommodating and helpful! Great spot very close to crystal river manatee tours and rainbow springs for swimming! Bathrooms are good and stocked with toilet paper, the shower even has hot water! Looking forward to staying again soon!

I stayed in the cabin, it is cute and clean and the bed is very comfortable. There is a small kitchen equipped with cooking utensils, bring your own spices, condiments, etc.
The tap water has a high iron content so consider bringing water for drinking, coffee, etc.
The campfire was great as was the company 😊
