This campsite offers a back-to-basics, semi-wild camping experience, cherished for its peaceful and secluded pitches surrounded by nature. Many campers appreciate the freedom to choose their own spot, whether it's in the open fields or within the wooded areas. However, some visitors noted disturbances from nearby road noise and occasional unruly guests. Overall, it's a welcoming space with a friendly host, perfect for those looking to escape into nature while accepting a few rustic elements.
We had a very peaceful, back to basics tent overnighter. Beautiful pine forest, felt safe and undisturbed. Owner is very friendly and let us stay longer than check out time! Would definitely recommend.
We had a lovely stay the first night beautiful place to feel wild and free in nature just what we were after. Unfortunately some people have no respect and are out of control! One of the guests were off theyre heads and was walking around at night in the dark shouting screaming & offering a fight !! He actually came up to our camp and threatened my friend for his cigarette!! We didn’t feel safe or enjoy our evening after all this is went on for hours shouting aggressive behaviour. These people should have been removed for the safety of others the person on site was trying to deal with it but seems that they got away with it and were still there the next day !! We would have liked some sort of apology as we were generally about to call the police ourselves to deal with the matter. We would come again but we would like abit more security not have to fear for your life before your trying to sleep !!
Had a great stay over all - we had a lovely secluded pitch as the only ones in the forest area. Felt about as close to wild camping as you could get, which was just what we were after.
However, there was some noise from the road most of the night, and unfortunately it seemed like they were maybe moving the pigs in the nearby field as they were squealing quite a lot, which combined meant we didn't get as much sleep as we'd have liked. It didn't seem like this was a regular thing though.
We had a great time and the woods are a nice place for camping. Really good links to byways and footpaths for bikes and walks. The site is close to the road so you can hear the traffic. The site would benefit from a tidy up because it is pretty scruffy with a lot of broken stuff and abandoned vehicles dotted around the adjacent land. Owner seems like a nice guy and was perfectly welcoming. Thanks
Had a three night stay in the forest, it was perfect, quite, cool, lots of walks with my dogs.
I am self contained so didn’t use the facilities.
Would definitely recommend if you want a relaxing few days away.
Will be staying again at some point.
Took my little micro camper and dog for a night in the woods. Loved how off grid it felt, and it was quiet even though it was August. Great walks nearby for me and the dog.
As advertised. Quiet on the night we went, easy to get there if you follow the directions on the website. Great outdoor space, for adults and children alike.
Lovely place and owner / host! Feels completely free and so peaceful, like no other camping we’ve been too. Facilities are good. We had a really good time!
The directions Hipcamp sent are incomplete, the host contact number hipcamp sent was a former employee- the ‘always open’ reception was closed, I left a message on the mobile number given but my call was ignored. So no welcome and a wave and a hello as I left! Site could be great but its littered with incomplete or unfinished projects -so looks pretty scrappy- could be great with a bit of effort
