Gonzo’s Grove
We really enjoyed our trip to "Gonzo's Grove". Greg was a great host and very accommodating. Beware there are plenty of cacti, so be careful. There is also a slight highway and train noise, but nothing too annoying or obnoxious. Very beautiful property and private. It was an awesome stay and can't wait to go back!

Gonzo’s Grove
Excellent, large private area for our campsite. Aguilar is not even 10 minutes away for gas and groceries. Greg and Rachel are excellent hosts, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Gonzo's Grove!

Gonzo’s Grove
We loved seeing the mountain and the grasslands every day, hearing the train, and listening to the raves cavort overhead. It's a lovely place to stay, it's easy to get to it, and Greg and Rachel are delightful!

A Peaceful Stopover
Gonzo's Grove is beautiful and easy to find once you leave the highway. We were greeted by our host, Greg, who showed us several spots to choose from. It is a peaceful quiet site not far from town. You'll find a local grocery in town, a bar, a museum, and a mercantile store with gas pumps. We spent a quiet evening watching the sun set over the mountains and enjoyed coffee while our dogs played in the wide open field in the morning. We will certainly be back when we are traveling this way again.

Tent camping on Greg’s land was perfect! Truly off grid and quiet, we loved it. Make sure to bring everything you need for camping and water, there are no utilities. That’s just the way we like it!

Gonzo’s Great!
Loved this space so much! Had a fire pit & beautifully secluded spot at the base of the mountain. Hosts were exceptional & so accommodating with water to wash my dinner goods as well. The only thing I was missing was some sort of table/landing space for food prep - but not a deal breaker as you could always tote one in. They are in the process of building a shipping container venue space & look forward to seeing what they do with this beautiful property!

Gonzo’s Grove
Once we found it we really enjoyed our stay. It’s in on beautiful property and is primitive camping. Bring everything you’ll need, including water. We tent camped, kayaked at nearby Lake Trinidad and will be back!

Open for a real camping experience
The camping area was a true camping experience. There were many areas to pick and choose from so a camper can decide if they want a wooded area, a ravine, or out in the open to camp in. There was plenty of seclusion and easy access to the near by state park. T-mobile was also at 4bars.
