Black Oak Forest
We stayed here with our two dogs over the weekend and had a wonderful experience! The place was very quiet and peaceful—although you could occasionally hear cars, the traffic noise was not frequent or disruptive. It was nicely shaded, very clean, and comfortable. We would definitely love to come back! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

The host was responsive. Location was pretty sweet. Not far from activities that we came for.
The yurt was a great size, very clean and comfortable. Loved the electric tea kettle and skylight. We enjoyed the outdoor kitchen.
The water didn't work as advertised. Everything else was very good.
This "campsite" was not really a campsite. It was a backyard that was about 100 feet if that from the road. It was anything but serene and private, it was loud all night and day with dogs barking, cars speeding by, and construction right across the street. There was no room to explore or venture around, the site we had access to was not even 1/2 an acre. Super disappointing and really lost on what I paid for.

We stayed at the Yurt for 2 nights. Hosts were very welcoming. We were surprised to see a full fridge and electricity available inside the yurt. We can attest to the Cleanest potta party in the west. Outdoor shower was amazing. Would come back again.

Easy to find, instructions were clear. Bathroom and sink/kitchen area were well kept. It was exactly what we needed for a simple overnight.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience really stood out, so I wanted to share my honest feedback. Everyone's experience may be different, and perhaps it was just the season, but this was mine. It's more like camping in a secluded, small backyard setting. I booked it for two nights but ended up leaving after one. The next morning, I woke up to the sound of trees being cut down and constant talking, which made it far from a peaceful stay. I decided to cut my trip short and took the loss.
Staying in the yurt was a nice getaway from the city. I love that the yurt was air conditioned so you can escape the heat during the mid day or stay cool at night while trying to sleep. The land is quiet at night but there was some construction going on across to road during the day to be aware of. For most of the stay we had the camp to ourselves and that was nice. The land is conveniently located close to Garden Valley, Coloma, and Placerville so if you forget anything and need to make a trip to the store it is a short drive.

The yurt is very beautiful, the bed is super comfortable, and the kitchen area is super cool. Im glad there was a pot available because we forgot ours haha! The cool shower was very nice! The weather is warm and it was refreshing. My husband, doggo, and I enjoyed our stay here very much.

We lived staying at the yurt! The property is beautiful, lots of trees, lil creek, and berry bushes ✨ even though we run into some small issues upon arrival, the host was very quick to solve them, which was very appreciated!

Quiet area with 5 sites on lower end of property. We had the entire place to ourselves and enjoyed It. So relaxing just hanging out at camp and chatting. Drove to Placerville to check out a few parks ave had early dinner in town. Enjoyed camp fire which you don’t get usually in the summer so that was really nice.

What an incredible spot. There’s so much to do in the area including river access nearby, and Stumpy Meadows reservoir only a half hour away. There’s restaurants and coffee shops in neighboring towns. And the whole area is lovely to just drive around and look at the scenery.
As for the spot itself, it’s perfect. It’s quiet and secluded and you have the space all to yourself. There’s a little sink area to do dishes and multiple fire pits. There’s a little stream running right by the camp site and it just feels like a little slice of heaven.
The hosts Melissa and Teen are such lovely people. They checked in to see if we were doing ok and were just all around some of the nicest hosts I’ve ever encountered.

The trees were beautiful, and the area was very nice. It was exactly what I had wanted for an outdoor camping experience. The hook ups for my camper van were as expected, and our stay was wonderful!

Great quiet campground!
Arrived at night and was a little lost at first since the entrance the the campground is not the main driveway where my navigation had shown - it was a different entrance.
The campground was flat and had great space to find a good spot. The porta-potty and sink were clean and maintained. The shower was cold and open, but was fun showering in nature.
Also saw some deer and heard animals in the morning.
It was a great and relaxing weekend here. 🙂

Excellent host- we look forward to coming back next year.
The name says it all—“Garden Valley Bliss.” After initially arriving at the wrong entrance (my mistake entirely), I reached out to the host for help. I had pulled into the physical address instead of the designated Hipcamp entrance, which tested my truck and navigation skills. Fortunately, the hosts at this Hipcamp were incredibly understanding and helpful. Once I got settled in, this spot truly lived up to its name—Bliss.
Waking up to the creek right outside my door, with deer and turkeys wandering around, was a delightful experience. There was plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the outdoors. While I was self-contained, I appreciated the clean porta potty, water sink, and fridge provided for Hipcamp guests.
This was my fourth Hipcamp, and I can confidently say that Garden Valley Bliss is now one of my top favorites to revisit. A big thank you to Melissa and her family for creating such a wonderful place where families like mine can rest, relax, and connect with nature. We had an absolutely fantastic time!

Our family loved this campsite! There was plenty of shady and flat surfaces for RV or tent camping. Great amenities - outdoor kitchen, bbq, shower, port potty and power. We were the only ones there and enjoyed a peaceful stay and appreciated being close by to fun river activities. Hosts were extremely nice and helpful and have a beautiful spot - we'll be sure to visit again!
Cute campsite and very welcoming host! I will say, we went in the middle of an intense heat wave (mid day temp was 105) and even at night it only cooled to the mid-70s at best so we were cooking in our tent. But the campsite had great amenities like a super clean porta potty, kitchen sink, and power hook up for our rig! Also the swimming spot nearby is 10/10.

I really enjoyed the campsite and amenities. Surface was flat and shady. Truly the nicest porta potty I’ve ever used! And a nice big kitchen sink and bbq. We were the only ones there so very secluded and private. Hosts were very kind and helpful. Loved it!
Loved the spot, had the essentials that we needed, like a grill, bathroom, running water, tables, fire pit. We had the spot to ourselves. It was like a 14 minute drive to the river, a bunch of activities to do like fishing, rafting, swimming, etc. I would come back again. Also there are places to eat near by the river.

Great large site with electric and water hookups, a mini fridge, fire pit and free firewood! PLUS a large tent already set up and ready for use! Two large picnic tables, several chairs and an outdoor sink. The toilet facility is a porta-potty that, while super clean, felt like a sauna, lol! Bring a hand fan…?
Also, the site is just off the road, so you will hear the traffic, but it is not a very busy street.
Turn in at the first driveway AFTER the listed address; the entire area you pull into is the site. Great for a large group.
There’s no cell service, but there is wi-fi available. You’re surrounded by trees; it’s a lovely forest hideaway.
