A unique experience awaits you. Spend a night sleeping 20 feet up in the air suspended between towering Redwood trees. A custom woven "treenet" by West Marin artist Andrew Castle (https://treenet.studio/), provides a firm surface to hang out and sleep up to 5 people on. It's like floating in space. Bring your sleeping bag, this is open air camping at its best - No roof, no floor! Wake up to the sun filtering through your temple made of trees! Rain is nearly non-existent in the Summer and early Fall in beautiful San Geronimo Valley, making this the perfect place and time to sleep out in the glory of the redwoods. Swainson's Thrush will sing at dusk, followed by the owls and coyote's yipping and howling in the middle of the night (don't let it spook you!) There is amazing hiking all around, potable water on site and a public toilet not far away. There's parking for your camper directly next to the site, keeping your amenities close by.This site is a suspended sleeping space, about 20 feet off the ground, in the middle of 14 redwood trees. You have to climb 2 short but steep staircase/ladders to access it. The net has sides that come up to about waist height, so it's very safe for basic standing, sitting and sleeping use. the net is woven out of hundreds of strands of extremely strong dynamic climbing rope and can hold thousands of pounds, many times more than the weight of 5 large adults. There are Christmas lights for night time lighting, and a powerstrip. You can set a small tent up in this space if you wish but it defeats the purpose.

Great structure and communication! 8 min walk to public porta-potty and beautiful woodsy neighborhood that’s pretty quiet; maybe 3ish houses in hearing range. Amazing to wake up looking into trees and moonlit everything. Gorgeous concept and execution.

If you love redwoods you really can’t get a better experience than this up amongst such tall trees. Laying on the net 20+ feet in the air with fairy lights all around was a magical experience. The build felt very safe and well designed with ample guard rails around. In spite of being in a neighborhood it felt very secluded. Would highly recommend surprising your SO on a date night here!

Sleeping up in the redwoods.

What an amazing night sleeping suspended in the redwoods on an expertly crafted tree net that not only feels secure and safe but is comfy as well. There were four of us and we had plenty of space. It was our first time camping like this so I wasn't sure what to expect but I thought it was so cool it was worth checking out. Although the space isn't completely isolated, as in you can see houses through the trees, the ring of redwoods the net is built in surrounds you creating a magical space. My 13- year-old son and his 14-year-old friend loved it. The other dad zonked out within minutes. We all agreed we would do it again. And for the lovers out there, this place is dreamy. Louis the host was prompt and clear with answering questions and directions. Two big thumbs up.

So fun (but come prepared)!

I personally loved the entire experience ! However, I do recommend coming prepared !! the site has no amenities, but I have a camping toilet with a toilet tent, which made things so much easier. Louis provided me with a little table but if you’re planning to come with a ton of food, cooking gear, supplies, cosmetics, etc, I recommend maybe even bringing a folding table as the site does not have anywhere to set your things on or for u to sit. I also recommend bringing some kind of sleeping pad to bring up into the tree with you. I’m really glad I brought two of mine bc the ropes that make the net are quite stiff and I can’t imagine sleeping directly on them for multiple nights. With my sleeping pads, sleeping bags, and wool blankets, I seriously had some of the best sleep of my life! I loveddddd sleeping in that tree so much. Heads up: you are at the end of the Host’s driveway in a mildly populated small town. So, you will hear cars, passerbyers, people cycling nearby, etc. I always pack earplugs when I’m camping, and I’m really glad I did because I ended up needing to use them to get to sleep. Other than that— the host’s cats are CRAZY CUTE. They wear these little bells around their neck, so I would hear them coming to greet me in the morning. Such a sweet way to wake up! I recommend staying here for sure, but come with everything you’d possibly need to make the set up as comfy as possible! Don’t just show up with a couple blankets and food lol. Thanks Louis !!

First time experiencing a tree net. Cool and unique experience with three teenagers and husband. Not large rural property but felt private enough enclosed within the ring of redwoods on Louis’s property in the residential neighborhood for hanging with family for evening games and sleep. Neighborhood is across the main street from large, beautiful open space for exploring. Check out trails on AllTrails in San Geronimo, like Roy’s Redwoods for ideas. Didn’t go far but leaves much to explore on a future visit. We had come from a day at the beach and dinner in Stinson. Great sleepover stop before heading home toward Sacramento the next day. Louis is friendly and helpful. Great stay. Thx Louis for sharing your space and making a special trip with teens possible.

Most Unique and Fun Hipcamp Stay!

19 ft campervan

My fiance and I absolutely loved this Hipcamp! It was easy to find (directions were clear) and host was very communicative and made us feel prepared :) We brought our 19ft campervan (Ram Promaster) and it fit fine at the site. Our van build and stuff is quite heavy, and we’re FWD so I always worry about getting stuck but we had no issues. Driveway is a little steep but we had no problem getting up, it did help to get a little momentum before going up it since sometimes we spin out on steep grades when wet. Anyway, onto the fun stuff-the treenet was beautiful and felt stable and safe. We slept up there for the whole first night. Yes it’s near a road but we heard little car noise despite this. We just packed plenty of thick blankets and dressed in layers and were totally comfortable. It was about 45° that night. We fell asleep to the sounds of owls hooting and gentle occasional drizzle of rain. The string lights are a nice touch and made for amazing photos! I would love to stay again when I’m in the area and for longer.

Unique and fun experience!

The Tree Net was awesome! Highly recommend. We had brought sleeping pads but ended up not using them, instead we had a ton of blankets and sleeping bags to have beneath us and on us and it was quite cozy. We had four people and the net felt quite sturdy. Louis was a great host and super responsive, he let us drop off some stuff a bit early which was quite kind of him. It was a perfect spot for a one night trip and a full day Pt. Reyes adventure. Highly recommend, very unique experience!

Sure, here's the edited version: It was nice and cozy. A lot cooler at night with the strung lights, although some didn't turn on. I wish there were lights going up to the net to feel a little more secure about going up and down. You are in a neighborhood, so being somewhat quiet is recommended. I think it was a bit pricey but made for a good memory. Overall, it was a good time.

We loved staying here - such a unique experience! This time of year is a little cold at night so bring plenty of blankets for the net. We probably could have slept in it but decided to sleep in our van at the base of the net for a little extra warmth. There are string lights in the net as well which provide wonderful ambiance at night. The net is VERY well constructed and safe. Neighbors houses are visible from the net but it’s a very quiet street.

Jumping pad to Point Reyes!

Louis’s site is close to a main road, sans any noise pollution. It felt peaceful reading in the net into the late morning. Important things to note before booking: The area that the tree net is in is *much* more exposed than we anticipated (front yard of the property next to a street in a neighborhood), but being up in the net itself felt private. There’s enough room below to park and set up camping equipment if you don’t have a trailer. If you don’t have a trailer, I highly recommend bringing a camping toilet. I wouldn’t have stayed here if I didn’t have some kind of toilet. The uniqueness of the tree net and the proximity to Point Reyes make this a great one night stay!

such a unique stay!

the treenet was absolutely rad!! so intricate and unique. i loved it! i just made sure i had enough layers and blankets and a beanie to stay warm. it was pleasant and quiet for the most part. it is a residential street, right off a road, and the host lives just above, but still feels private. just know it isn’t always quiet, but it was mostly a quiet night. the host was incredible with communication and met upon arrival and was kind and helpful. absolutely will stay again!

Amazing Hipcamp Location!! Truly One of a Kind! I had the most incredible experience staying in the treenet nestled among the towering redwoods! This spot is like no other—surrounded by ancient trees, the air is filled with that fresh forest scent, and the canopy above makes it feel like you’re sleeping among the stars. The treenet itself was beautifully crafted, super cozy, and surprisingly spacious. The views of the forest from up there are absolutely breathtaking, and waking up to the sound of birds and the rustle of leaves was pure magic. The hosts were super welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a unique, peaceful getaway that immerses you in nature, this is the place. I can’t recommend it enough—such a special spot!

It’s great for someone who comes in a car, truck or smaller vehicle, and wants to sleep in the trees. We have a 24 foot bus and there was no parking that was remotely level (like sliding into each other constantly because of the steep, uneven land). We wanted to sleep in the bus and hang out in the trees during the day and it didn’t work well for us at all. While in the trees, it’s decently private, but not on the ground and there is no way to function in your camper (the water doesn’t flow right, things fall off of fridge shelves, etc…). It’s also located in a neighborhood (not as in nature as I expected- not a fault of the listing) with somewhat narrow streets. It’s cool for people wanting to hang out in the beautiful trees- but not for anything else even close to actual camping.

Wow!! This was such a special spot. Nestled into the redwood trees and waking up to the sunlight through the treetops…. Was so blissful. Really unique experience! When layered up we were definitely warm enough. Would come back for sure!

I was looking for a weekend getaway, and was hoping to find something unique, and so I found the treenet. My dog and I had a great time! She is little so I was able to carry her up the stairs. She was a little unsure about the bouncy feeling under her feet (I placed blankets so she could walk around) but she adjusted quickly and cuddled with me. Christmas lights made it feel very cozy when it got dark. Thanks, Louis!

Inspiring and unique place to stay

What an inspiring and unique camping location! I came on an impromptu solo camping trip, and the location is right near public transit. The net is suspended 20ft off the ground, and it really does feel like sleeping in a suspended trampoline. Make sure to look up at the stars in a clear night! Louis was an incredible host who made sure that I settled in. He was warm and friendly. I would absolutely reccomend, and would consider coming back again. Thanks Louis!

Night in a Tree!

If you want to experience one of the coolest ways to camp, stop looking and book this site! The Treenet is AWESOME. We brought a bunch of blankets and pillows up and were completely comfortable. Louis is super communicative and the directions to the site are perfect. If you happen to need to sleep in your car/van, the driveway is pretty level and Louis even has levelers if you need them!

Treenet in the redwoods was magical

You're truly suspended 20 feet in the air supported by redwoods, so so cool. Louis was super communicative and created something truly special to share with the world. It was quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by bird song. The temperature at night was also just right for sleeping, we slept like angels. If you're looking for a quiet and unique stay - we highly recommend this stop. I also recommend Pump Espresso just down the road, great coffee and vibe!
