Shanti Permaculture Farm is nestled in the majestic Redwoods of Occidental. We are dog and pet friendly with a large driveway to run and play fetch. Soak away your aches and pains in the huge seven-person hot tub. Take a left out of our driveway and you'll arrive to stunning and vast Pacific Coastline rocky beaches in only eight miles. Help us feed Cosmo the llama, our American Blackbelly sheep, chickens, ducks and geese. Lots of peace, quiet, sun and stars here!
Coleman Valley Road is known as the most beautiful road in Sonoma County. Shanti is strategically located on Coleman Valley Road and only a short two-mile drive, bike ride or lovely walk from the cute little hamlet of Occidental with its eclectic shops, famous eateries and pub, art center and Friday afternoon Farmer's Market. The drive from Occidental to Shanti affords beautiful views of Mount Saint Helena and the surrounding Mayacamas Mountains to the east. But it is further west that attracts so many visitors. The remaining eight miles from Shanti along Coleman Valley Road to the ocean are a shockingly narrow, curvy and spectacularly panoramic drive known as "The Most Beautiful Road in Sonoma County." Forested landscapes of a varied ecosystem of deciduous Oaks, Redwoods and Douglas firs give way to sudden vistas of huge boulder-strewn meadows and a fog-shrouded ocean that stretches into eternity. The drive to the coast only takes about 30 minutes, but you are guaranteed to stop and take lots of photos all along the way. This is the number one scenic attraction in the area, and it is just a left turn out of Shanti's driveway.
We are unique in that we offer you to feed our 200 animals twice daily if you so chose. Many kids and adults find the feedings to be the highlight of their trip. If you want, you can get involved in farm life here, by washing and packaging eggs, unloading chicken feed, and helping us in the garden. Shanti personnel are super pet friendly, LGBTQ friendly and 420 friendly. We have a reasonable cleaning fee of $50 for La Pequena.

Cosmo Campsite was great!
Our campsite (cosmo campsite) on Elizabeth’s farm was great. It was solidly private, well shaded, and included a really comfortably hammock. We were able to set it up real nicely and make it feel quite cozy during our stay.
It was rejuvenating camping around so many happy farm animals. We helped Elizabeth feed the ducks, chickens and geese and then the sheeps and cosmo the llama one morning. We received a visit from her ginger cat rascal at our campsite after sundown. We also bought some fresh duck eggs and cooked them in our ramens!
I highly recommend staying here for a unique camping experience and the opportunity to be in a wholesome and grounding environment.

Site 4 - NEW! Behind the Barn Campsite
We loved it here so much we came back two months later! Camping behind the barn was lovely. We had friendly neighbors and the kids enjoyed running around and visiting the animals. We had a nice communal fire at night and ate duck eggs for breakfast. There’s a lot of farm and wild life here. A great place for families and folks who don’t mind being close to other campers and making new friends! Thanks Elizabeth!

Site 1 - NEW! Behind the Barn Campsite
This was a fun and special place to visit. I took my 10yo son and we loved learning so much about the farm, the garden and the animals. Elizabeth was very generous with her time and offerings. We got to collect the chicken and duck eggs, wash them, and get them ready for sale. It was a lovely hands-on experience. And the camping behind the barn had a nice communal feeling and was very comfortable. It's also very convenient to the town of Occidental and the Russian River.

Top of the Hill Campsite
This is one the best tent site. The host is super-awesome and the campsite is also great.
You can get fresh eggs also, if you like.
