It’s a nice farm. Kids had a great time. The host is super nice. You can see the trains come by which is beautiful at night under the stars. I recommend renting a E bike . It was fun riding around the farm.

Nouae and his daughter were wonderful hosts. Even though we had crazy weather, we had a nice relaxing time. Large sites, nice bathrooms, and we really liked the goats and pigs.

We had a great stay at one upon a ranch. Check in instructions were clear and the host, Nouae was really helpful. He even helped jumpstart my car when I killed the battery. Bathroom was clean. Was very windy but that’s out of anyone’s control!

The campsite is pretty good, there are many around. Nouae also helped us a bit with standing up our own tent. Very hospitable host! The restrooms were clean and tidy.
The wind was a bit strong but not enough for us to pack up.

Tent camped for one night on Nouae’s land. He was such a nice, welcoming person. We got there late around 11:00 pm and had no problem finding our spot thanks to the wide stretch of outdoor lights and the thoughtful navigation we received from the host. We enjoyed hearing the train in the distance. Seeing the train pass by in the morning was very serene. Roosters woke us up, but we liked hearing them. Bathroom was super accessible and close. 10/10 would recommend this spot and would totally stay again!!!

Daughter was headed home from Bodega Bay and stumbled upon this place because we wanted one more night of camping before home. We loved the open grass feel and dark skyline. Stars were amazing and it had a cool vibe with the trains going by at night. It didn't bother us one bit. It actually felt like we were watching something from YouTube. Definitely be back!

We had a great time camping at Once Upon a Ranch! The host was incredibly welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed—truly top-notch hospitality. The campsite itself is huge, with plenty of open space to spread out and relax. It felt peaceful and private, with a beautiful ranch vibe.
There’s a flushable bathroom nearby the site, which was a nice surprise for a more rustic site. They also provide a picnic bench, which came in handy for meals and hanging out.
One of the highlights was getting to see all the farm animals! They have a cow, sheep, pigs, a turkey, ducks, and lots of chickens that roam freely but stay in their area. It really added to the charm of the experience and was especially fun for animal lovers.
A couple of things to note: it can be a bit noisy at night, with trains passing by and honking, plus the occasional barking from neighboring dogs or early morning chicken chatter. It didn’t bother us too much, but light sleepers might want to bring earplugs.
Pro tip:
Bring a canopy because there’s not much shade from the sun since it’s open land.
Bring your own drinking water. The water on site is unfiltered groundwater used for irrigation, so it’s not meant for drinking.
Overall, this is a great spot for anyone who loves open space, a farm setting, and warm host vibes. We’d definitely come back!

This land is a real farm, lots of animal noises, early until late, so if you’re okay with real country living, it is great. I was the only camper, in February, and enjoyed the experience. Nouae had nice firewood too.

If you’re looking for a quiet respite along your journey — this is NOT it! the folks were very nice, but unfortunately there is an extremely loud train that runs all hours of the night right along the edge of the property. and there’s also at least 50 chickens that will start screaming far before dawn.

This was an amazing spot to camp with wide open park to look at stars with no light pollution and the best part was to watch amtrak trains passing by from campground.

Pastures & Distant Rolling Hills
Off the beaten path, I’m a good way! It was quiet, remote, and still close to town (about 12-15 minutes) Host was good to check in digitally and give all of the info I needed. Beer drinker? There a very nice brew house down the street with indoor/outdoor seating and gas fire pits. There’s a great set up for a fire in your site as well.

The host, Nouae, and his community were very nice!
We just happened to stay during a busy time for the ranch (their Harvest Festival and Halloween event) so there was a lot going on - a lot of people, constructing, and equipment that we were not expecting. Directions to the sites were not clear once we reached the main house.
The site itself was nice. We enjoyed the fire pit and out dog loved the open field where she played.

Nouae’s camp spot was just what we needed for the night. Spacious sites with tables and a clean bathroom with running water, and fire pits too. Woke up to a wide sky sunrise, and watched birds and the farm animals. Quiet spot, really convenient for camping in the Dixon/Vacaville area! It’s a little tricky to find but our host gave great directions and met us at the driveway to find our site and get us settled. Recommend!

We were welcomed upon arrival and the tent site was very clean. We enjoyed meandering the property and interacting with the goats, sheep cows chickens and even the neighbors horses. The cute bathroom shed was a welcomed amenity, and we appreciated the delivered firewood too. It was an easy location with nearby shopping, and definitely provided insight on rancher life.

Nouae has a beautiful property, and he is a very attentive host. He let us switch campsites, and we enjoyed having a site next to the trees. We had an issue with our tent, and he let us borrow his, which was so kind. We enjoyed seeing goats, cows, and chickens. The bathroom was very nice and clean. We purchased the firewood from Nouae and enjoyed making s’mores and stargazing. I would highly recommend staying here.

When we arrived, there was no one there so I got out of our car to see if anyone was in the house. I took one step onto the front porch steps and out of nowhere a large german shepherd ran up behind me and bit me in the calf. My friend got out of the car immediately and the dog started crouching towards him in an attack position.
The owners were very apologetic, but when i contacted him about paying for my ER bill, there was no response. I had to get a tetanus shot and a week's worth of antibiotics.
Otherwise, the ranch was nice and had a nice bathroom

This was a solid spot for me to stop on my drive from the bay to the foothills, to break it up for my bad back. It was pretty getting in around sun down and waking up there. Cute farm animals. Starry sky. Plenty of space to walk my dog around. Felt private and expansive. Friendly responsive host showed me around upon arrival. Clean bathroom (although apparently tap water isn’t drinkable). Some neighbor dog barked quite a lot at night. But eventually quieted down and I slept great.

The ranch is very relaxing, the sites are privet and nice, easy to get to, Nouae the host is super nice and helpful. Location is convenient on the road to Lake Tahoe or SF.

we really had a great time here and this spot was just outside of town. We had considered some other RV parks, but this had everything we needed and such wide open space that it really made time stand still.
I set a pin on the map for the next time that we will be in the area, it’s nice to find good reliable campgrounds, and this is one of those.

We were in town for the famous yearly Woofstock Dog Show cluster in Vallejo and wanted a quiet place to camp for the show. 2024 is the last year that Woofstock would be doing a 4-day show, so we wanted to be able to attend the entire event without having to drive back and forth from our property.
I found Nouae’s listing and it was the only one that was close enough to Vallejo and also affordable. There are pretty much no other listings in the vicinity for some reason, so I was very happy to book a site on his land.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Nouae himself as well as his German Shepherd, Winston. He was very welcoming and accommodating, and said we could text if we ever needed anything.
Nouae was extremely responsive to any messages or updates I sent, and my husband and I even had a great chat with him one evening. He recommended us some delicious local eats (I am a big foodie)!
The views around his property were gorgeous, and I would highly recommend staying on Nouae’s land for easy driving distance to many cities in the north Bay Area.
The toilet was great, and the trains weren’t too much of a bother. I got used to it after the first night. As an avid birder, I absolutely loved all the various avian species that frequent the property. It was very windy when we stayed, but I honestly didn’t mind, especially since we were in a rooftop tent.
If we are in the area next time, I would gladly stay on Nouae’s property again!
