Rodney was a fantastic host! We got in later than we thought and Rodney was very patient with us and helped us navigate after we over shot the location.
When you get close *call for directions!*
Like Rodney says clearly on his page it can be a little tricky to get to. It would have saved us a good chunk of time had we been proactive. Facilities on the property are clean and orderly. We greatly appreciated the hospitality!

When you need to get out of town as
I've always been curious about Clearlake. Living in Sacramento, I know how much methamphetamines use is in every corner of the state and knew exactly what I was getting into by going to Lake County, which ranks last in health outcomes in California. What a shame, though, because the lake is beautiful (though thoroughly polluted, don't touch), and the wineries and springs are lovely. We went to Brassfield Winery (10min away), which is fascinating for it's history and strange neighbor Psi Seminars ("Are you ready to maximize your effectiveness?"), The locals are funky and welcoming, if not in great health, and I have no problem engaging in commerce in a place that really needs attention. The cabin is well located, walking distance to a market, pizza, and coffee shop; mask wearing could have been more over-the-nose. The four of us slept comfortably although one room has a noisy ceiling fan which I'm sure can be fixed. Also, the kitchen is ok-stocked; a colander for pasta would be a great addition.

Horrible
Well, what can I say about this place. The house itself was what to be expected for a lake house. Small, comfortable beds, enough kitchen stuff (minus microwave). Living area comfortable and nice view of the water. Ok the water, not swimmable this time of year....moss overload!
Here is the thing you need to know about Rod's. It's location. First it's on a loud, heavily trafficked road. Second I have never felt so unsafe. When we pulled up 30 minutes early, we were met by the cleaning crew which were [redacted], way to start the afternoon! The neighborhood, neighbors seem pretty sketchy to say the least. We took a walk across the street to grab a pizza (delish) and take our kiddo to the park. I have never been so absolutely disappointed and scared.
If these things don't bother you, you'll love it! Sadly, I will never EVER visit Clearlake again. I will also never recommend this place to anyone. Sorry Rod. It's not you...it's the location for me. This was a nightmare because we thought all night, when will someone try and break in...400 dollars to be frightened the entire time.. we even documented the place to make sure we weren't charged for something stupid....

Great little place. Perfect for us
Great place! The 3 kiddos stayed in one room and us in another. It was 100+ degrees this weekend so the a/c was working overtime. But every room had ceiling fans.
Kitchen had all new cookwear and tablewear. Note that there is no microwave. Not a problem for us (we noticed the pictures didn't show one so we were prepared) but thought I'd mention here in case you might not have noticed.
Fire pit was awesome, some nice dry wood was provided. Had s'mores out in the cack next to the lagoon.
They have 6 hookups for RVs but none were in use while we were there.

Fun rustic space
This was an adorable updated little cabin on a peaceful portion of Clearlake. Unfortunately the algae in the lake makes it unsafe to swim in. We still very much enjoyed the space and the nature we could see. The host was very accommodating and had everything we needed.

Rod is very attentive, kind and welcoming. The house was just what we needed. We were his first guests at this new listing and he cared to make it nice for us. It is priced well, and reflected more of a utilitarian vibe than vacation luxury (obviously). Everything was new and clean, and we had everything we needed.

The site was clean and just off the main road. Rod was great and always available. The only issue was the water access. The water had a ton of overgrowth but i don't think Rod could have done much about that. The lake is about 2 blocks away anyway so it wasn't a big deal. Still had a great time!

Rod’s in was great! Very well kept site with easy access to the lake, from water and road. Easy to get to and in the middle of everything on the east side of the lake. Surrounded by beautiful wine country, this place was a gem!

Site manager was very friendly and answred my many questions. The only thing was the algae in the pond wasnt cleaned up so the smell was a little stinky. Its a small place but quiet. My kids had fun playing with the other kids there. It was quiet and had no problems.

Perfect place for camping and fishing! We nearly had the place to ourselves. One other group was staying. Both owner and manager were friendly and helpful.
Pros...close to public launch, clean facility, friendly staff.
Cons...site super close together, camp ground was small, right on the road. Hi
We will stay again! We liked the place for what we were looking for...fishing!!!!Ok
