This was my second time at Watanda - enjoyed the lake and the kiosk camping. Also very close to the yuba river and Scott’s flat. Will definitely go back.

Fun, Lake Side Camp Ground
Watanda is a great lake side camp ground. The property has everything you need for cooking, washing and having fun (water and land games). It's a nice step up from state park camp grounds and Kathryn is very helpful with pre-trip advice. The lake isn't large but it's enough to get out on the water for a short canoe ride - there are some blackberry bushes at the north end that you can pick from the boat. One thing to be aware of is the lake is shared by 3 other large camp sites. There are supposed to be quiet hours around the lake but that wasn't the case with one of the camps.

It was a great place to camp and accommodations were excellent. It was a very short drive to hiking sites. Camp Watanda itself was awesome. The only thing I would warn people is it's surrounded by summer camps. The first night we were there we heard a loud speaker next door with someone preaching until about 11:30 pm and there were loud noises all weekend from the camps with random gongs and activity bells. I'm glad the kids in the area were having fun, we were just hoping for a more quiet get away.

We had a great time at Camp Watanda! Kathryn was a great host - very accommodating and great communication. We're seasoned campers but had never done kiosk camping. The kiosk was as described and had everything you needed including bug spray, sunscreen, an ice chest, cooking table and a large table for eating. We had plenty of room for our tent as well. The bathhouse even had toiletries! The lake was picturesque and felt great to cool off in. They had plenty of kayaks, canoes, boats, lifejackets, lake toys and even corn hole and hoola hoops. Even though the cabin and lodge had other guests we still felt like we pretty much had the place to ourselves and the other guests we met were friendly. It was nice to camp and not worry about overcrowding and loud music blarring. We had such a great time and will be back!

We had a great time at Watanda! Kathryn was a great host, so responsive and accommodating. It was easy to find and had everything we needed including bug spray, sunscreen and even toiletries! We’re seasoned campers but had never camped in a kiosk. It was roomy and nice to have a large table for eating. Parking was plentiful and we enjoyed the lake and the many kayaks and canoes provided. We will be back!
