Welcome to Forest Tent Camping, an escape to nature! Our campsite provides a restorative stay in nature where you can take a break from work routines and enjoy the company of those who matter most. We have one campsite available for tent campers in a beautiful forest setting. This site easily fits 2 tents. The tent site is tucked into the forest, surrounded by cedar and douglas fir treesĀ with ampleĀ roomĀ forĀ yourĀ tent(s). NOTE: this site is close to the driveway. There's aĀ picnicĀ tableĀ thatĀ seatsĀ 6Ā comfortably. There is an outhouse a 2-minute walk from the campsite. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban. Pets are welcome but please keep them on leash so they don't scare our chickens! Go for a swim, kayaking, spend the day hiking or simply enjoy a beautiful sunset. The activities nearby are endless! This is the perfect jumping-off point to explore Lighthouse Country, Tofino and Central Vancouver Island. We look forward to hosting you.

Equipped with a functional kitchenette, a loft featuring a double bed draped in organic cotton sheets, and a mini wood-burning stove, it promises warmth and comfort after a day of exploration. The deck, crafted from Douglas fir that was milled here onsite, features a table, chairs. The cabin accommodates two guests, offering a snug haven amidst the lush trees. The kitchen is stocked with a fridge, stove, pots and pans, cooking utensils, dishes, and cutlery. No need to bring matches, kindling or wood ā€“ all are included. Adjacent to the cabin, your private 'wash house' provides the conveniences of modern living, hot and cold running water, sink, shower, and toilet, while embracing eco-friendly practices, including rainwater harvesting and instant hot water. For your convenience, the wash house is stocked with the basics, towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc.

Maple Cabin
The Doighouse is a beautiful site nestled in the trees. Listening to the rain on the cabins metal roof was heavenly. The hosts are incredibly considerate, welcoming and warm. I would highly recommend if you're looking for a nice spot to just get away from life for a few days!

Both Susan and Tony were amazing hosts. They were always quick to answer any questions and were incredibly kind! We did end up booking a tour with them of their place which was truly spectacular and original. Me and my parter have already discussed when we will return next. We will be forever thinking about our conversations with them both sharing our love for the environment and dogs:) Looking forward to our next visit!

Susan was an excellent host. When we first showed up we were a little lost and she guided us right to our campsite. We were camping on Thanksgiving and she invited us into her home and gave us a slice of homemade pumpkin pie (it was amazing). We left in a hurry but we would definitely go back again.

This was our second time staying at Susan and Tonyā€™s precious off the grid cabin. It feels so good to stay in this lovely abode, which has everything one could need. We were greeted by their super friendly and well behaved poodle, Bentley in the morning before eating breakfast on the delightful front porch!

Off Grid Getaway Cabin
I had an amazing time resting and decompressing in the off-grid cabin. It was everything I hoped it would be. I was surrounded by forest and lovely hiking trails, as well as kind and knowledgeable people working to create a space that respects and works with the land they care for. Walking to the beach each day was an added bonus!

What a lovely spot to camp ! We were greeted by the owners who were super friendly (their dog Bentley too!). The campsite was perfect and spatioud and there was a beautiful walking trail a couple minutes away.

Cozy Off-Grid Escape

The Maple Cabin was rustic, cozy, and had everything I needed for a peaceful off-grid stay. Set back from the highway on a hidden property, it felt private and quiet. The bed was comfortable, and the space was well-thought-out, though I would have appreciated curtains for privacy. The shared outhouse could use improvement, but the fresh water station with soap was a nice touch. The whole property feels like a work in progress, and itā€™ll be great to see how it all comes together. I really enjoyed my stay.

Tony and Susan were so welcoming, and provided such a cozy place for us to stay the night in the small cabin. We enjoyed the tour of the Earthship inspired house they are building, and the incredible gardens. It's such an incredible place they have created, and we look forward to staying there again in the future.

The camp site was off on its own and lovely. The grounds and garden were interesting. The berries were yummy, and the trail at the front t of their property was a wonderful bonus. I would stay there again.

I had a Short but peaceful, pleasant stopover with Susan on this magical land on my way to Hornby Island, which Iā€™d missed the ferries for due to earlier delays. Sleeping under the canvas made for a particularly quiet night without the typical jarring fall of a midnight pinecone. I felt very safe and cared for with her stellar communication. Sadly I didnā€™t have the time to visit their amazing home but it is truly beautiful and one of a kind, even from the outside. It was easy to find and even easier to set up. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at the Doighouse Earthship. The location is great, right by the beach and close by to so many trails. What a beautiful spot! It really felt like something special. We didnā€™t have time to tour the earthship but would love to next time we are over that way. We didnā€™t meet Susan but a lovely guy called Jeremy greeted us when we arrived and showed us around. The outhouse was very clean.

We had a wonderful stay in the Maple Cabin. Cozy and serene and so many sweet raspberries! A 16 min walk to public beach access and accessible trails right from the driveway. Thanks so much Susan and Tony - we shall return!

The campsite was delightful! The trails are a must! The Earthship project is very interesting and the garden is fantastic. We were invited to forge for raspberries! If you ever had that live off the land dream, it is worth getting a tour of the Earthship project.
