The setting was magnificent, and it was very pleasant with the horses present. However, we would like to point out that the night was difficult; we had to sleep in the car. It was very windy during the night, and the tent's canvas and frame moved a lot (the canvas is not fixed to the bottom of the tent, and too tight at the entrance to close it properly), making noise and preventing us from sleeping. The bed was too small for us, lengthwise, and uncomfortable. We also couldn't turn on the string lights; perhaps they weren't working. The same goes for the flashlight, which had no battery when we arrived. These points could be improved for future campers.
This tent is probably suitable for summer, but less so when the weather is harsher. It's also disappointing that Katie never answered to our messages.

Great little camp! We drove in, in our camper and it was clear where to park, the horses running around between pastures was cool to watch and all staff were friendly and accommodating! If it's raining though Make sure you don't drive left of the entrance as it's super slippery and muddy

Beautful view - very peaceful place in the middle of the nature surrounded by the horses. The Cowgirls were very helpfull and friendly. If you don’t need any services ( electricity, sewer, internet) it is a nice stay.

We loved every minute of it. It was so beautiful.
One of our campers is a horse person, and she absolutely loves seeing those horses
When we pulled in, we actually saw them trotting right in front of us, which is very exciting!
Herb greeted us, and made us feel very welcome!
We will be back.

Really not sure what to write here as I REALLY wanted to love this place! The tent pictured, is not the tent you will receive, and It’s not as nice. You will also likely not receive the heater that is pictured in the tent on the ad. It was 7 degrees at night, so that would have been really awesome to have included as not much sleep was had due to being up in the mountains. If you show a heater in an advertisement, you should probably have it there in my opinion so that people can plan accordingly. As a prior review stated as well, the bed is also a futon, not a mattress. The tent was full of spiders and webs which did not make for a very warm feeling, which I why I set up my backpacking tent, in the tent, to sleep at night. The other very strange thing I found is that the staff working on the farm, uses the common areas that they say are communal for campers. Sorry, but I don’t really want to hang out with a 100% staff and be making noise 50 feet from my tent while on vacation with my dad. Just wish certain things would have been made aware to myself before booking. Because it honestly felt like we were encroaching on someone’s life and like they weren’t expecting us based on the condition of the tent and condition of the property. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway, this may not be your spot. If you’re looking to have a hot shower in a cool outdoor shower setup, book it! Some work to be done to this place for sure, but it has all the potential in the world.

My kids really enjoyed camping in the working horse ranch. The camp site was off the main road, but not too far. Good location for heading into Jasper. Awesome views. Friendly staff.

Rustic but definitely an experience!
The outside (hot!) shower is a must try (on sunny days). We arrived when it started raining and it made it magical since a rainbow appeared on the mountains. The girls were really nice and welcoming and Katy welcomed us upon arrival explaining how the facilities worked. We didn't have the time to go horse riding unfortunately but it seemed great. If you like rustic but natural sites that's definitely a great address!

Comfortable tent where we were protected from the rain and we had access to a warm, outdoor shower. What a treat to wake up to sweeping views and hear the horses move around the land. We enjoyed our quick layover and deep sleep in the tent. Thanks Katy

Overall if you are wanting a futon bed and a tent, its good. A light, kleenex, and mosquito smoke rings were all provided. Horses in the pasture with you at 6 to 8 am. Tent door only ties together and will gape if not properly tied. Lady we met was nice.
I would have liked to have a mattress. The base needs readjusting as one side is much lower.

We stayed in the glamping-style tent for 3 nights and everything went very well. The mattress was especially comfortable. Katy answered our questions and we spent time with her and the other staff by the fire in the evenings. There are horses and you book riding sessions. Definitely recommended if you're looking to stay around Mt Robson (only 20mins drive)

This site is in a beautiful location. At the foothills of the mountains and surrounded by horse pasture, it's a great setting. Katy was having a cookout when I arrived and even had made a plate for me! There is a cool little outdoor shower and sink area that was great. A shower looking at the snow capped mountains does wonders for the soul. It's a great little rustic site situated way off the road.

We took our baby on a road trip to Alberta and spent a night here! It was so much fun to see the horses and farm animals. Beautiful mountains and scenery. Lovely people, outdoor shower and sink for doing dishes!

Absolutely loved the Back Forty, Katy and Hank were the best host. With the fires in Jasper on everyone’s mind and watching the helicopters it was still one of our best nights of our trip. Highly recommend the Back Forty and our dog Azo gave the ranch two paws up….

Katy’s place was exceptional!!! The mountain views were amazing — No matter which way you are facing the views were unbelievable I’ve never experienced anything like watching the horses run free in the field! We never wanted to leave! Katie and Hank made our visit extra special — We truly appreciated the time!

Camping on Katy's land was amazing. Having the cozy bed and large canvas tent already up saved us a lot of time on our way to Jasper for a big backpacking trip. We met some of the workers on the ranch who were from France and Germany. They were very nice! 10/10 would stay here again.

Katy is very friendly. We will be sorrounded by mountains 360degrees by escaping from technology.
We were welcomed by beautiful dogs and horses. This is one of our best places ever stayed.

The most incredible few nights! Pulled in to a great spot with incredible views and the best group of ranch hands who were super lovely and helpful, even taking us out on a horse ride at short notice early on our last day! Small touches like the first beers for free show what great hosts Katy and the team are. Highly recommend it for all animals lovers (28 horses, 2 donkeys, 5 dogs and a cat at my count!). Warm shower and cook facilities, too.

Throughly enjoyed camping on Katy's land, there was great facilities available and enjoyed the rustic feel of being out near nature. Towns to access groceries, fuel and other things was only a 20 min drive so a great balance. The tent was comfortable and stable (we learnt because it was incredibly windy) and had everything we needed!

The ranch was very beautiful with a stunning view. If you love horses this is the PERFECT place for you! If not, like us, it can be a bit intimidating that they run around everywhere. But Katy and her colleagues guaranteed us they knew how to behalve around people, and they luckily did! We stayed only one night instead of two but that was because there were less hikes than hoped around Mount Robson. Katy was very kind and her ranch screams girlpower!
