Surrounded by breathtaking mountain and lake views, Soul’s Paradise offers a peaceful retreat for nature lovers, adventurers, seasonal guests, and long-term stays. Our Accommodations • 1 beach tent site – Simple lakeside camping experience Water access only. Suitable for up to 2 people with a small tent. Please note: no picnic table or fire pit. • 19 beachside RV sites (can be used for tents)– Open April 15 to October 15 15-amp power, water, and access to the sani station, just steps from the beach. • 13 upper full-service sites – Available year-round 30/50-amp power, water, and sewage hookups. • 1 holiday trailer & 2 charming chalets Available for short- and long-term stays. Family-friendly and welcoming to gentle pets, we offer short-term, seasonal, and long-term RV or tiny-home sites (6+ months). The free Kootenay Lake ferry connects you to Balfour, and bicycles are welcome onboard. From Balfour, you’re only about 15 km from the famous Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort — perfect for a relaxing day trip. Overall our experience was good, we loved being close to Crawford Bay and Riondel. But, the campsites are very close together and not private whatsoever. We assumed site one would be relatively private, as the description says it is a deep and treed site- however the trees were sparse and our trailer felt as if it was opening right onto the tenting group next door.

The beach is amazing! It's very kid friendly and lovely water to swim in. There's paddleboard to rent and it wasn't over crowded. The campground itself is lovely. I would note that the overflow spots are on the other side of a road and you have to walk down to the beach. It's a short walk and super easy but you are out of the normal campground. It's still lovely up there but you are closer to the guest houses and further from the beach. There is showers, laundry and best of all, chickens running around. Super cute place and we will be back!

A Hidden Gem for Families

A hidden gem for families! Soul’s Paradise Resort has a great mix of seasonal and drop-in campsites, which gives it a really friendly atmosphere. By the end of your stay, you’ll probably be on a first-name basis with everyone around you. The host was friendly and quick to reply whenever we had a question. Our site had power and water, with clean washrooms and an outdoor sink nearby. We were lucky enough to get a site on the lower level right by the lake, which made the stay even better. The private beach was a great place to spend the day. Overall, it’s a well-kept campground with a relaxed, family-friendly vibe. We’d definitely stay here again.

Still hoping for more

Unfortunately Site 20 didn’t deliver on the campground experience that we were looking forward to and definitely did not live up to the name “Soul Paradise”. The owner of the facility had his personal boat parked right by Site 20 and chose to go fishing at 5:00am. Although it took only about 15 minutes to hook up to the boat, the constant rumbling of the truck motor got me out of sleep mode and into a state of frustration till we left at checkout. We saw the campground down by the lake and the one up behind Site 20 and 21 and I think they would have satisfied our need for a restful night. My recommendation if it matters, is loose those 2 site and focus on the people that chose to stay at “Soul Paradise”. It has a cool name that raises expectations to a level that is not being met. I look forward to driving by at a later date to see if changes are made that will temp me to stay again. The place is not a write off but please make a campground out of it that enticed us a much as the name did.😁

This should not be approved as a campsite. Is just someone’s yard where things are not very well organized at all. There is no privacy of any sort as the sewer collection tank is just across the site and people are constantly wondering about. More than that, @5:00 am the owner decides to start his truck and hook up his boat to go fishing…go figure, while upon arrival he had his truck parked right on our campsite. I would not recommend this site to anyone. Glad we only needed the spot for one night.

From Calgary, Alberta, we stayed a week, and seemed to be like few days, incredible spot, incredible owners, incredible week! This is such a great camping site and I am almost reluctant of saying too much here as I don’t want this place to be crowded for the next times :) I cannot recommend more enough this camping, family oriented or nature lover or both, this is where you have to be.

Awesome spot! Takes a few seconds to walk to the lake. We were in a tent but the site does have all the hookups for an RV. Site 17 is right beside the fully enclosed bathrooms which I personally thought was nice, neighbours only on one side. There's a playground in the middle so if you have kids that's a bonus! Overall super well maintained campground, we'll definitely be coming back. Also shoutout to Rocky for bringing us firewood at like 9 pm when we finally got to the site, what a legend.

Souls Paradise Campground, lower camping area is a cluster of small RVs with many seasonal campers. The vibe is friendly and chatty, the restroom and shower are very clean and the beach access is perfect to launch a paddle board. We stayed in site 2 which site which is a deep site, tucked in the trees. My one complaint is the sites are *very close* to one another with no visual barriers. This might be fine for a van or small RV, but we were in a tent and there was zero privacy.

Beautiful location to spend a few days. Only minutes from the ferry, it is very convenient when exploring the Kooteney’s. The campsite was nice and serene, Valery and her family were great-and made our stay really enjoyable. We will definitely be back!
