It’s hard to describe British Columbia as anything other than wildly breathtaking—quite literally when you swim in one of the province’s many turquoise glacier lakes, ride a wave, or catch a glimpse of a bear in the forest. For camping experiences and road trips, BC offers privately operated campgrounds and RV parks; a major network of parks with reservable and first-come, first-served tent camping sites; yurts and cabins; and thousands of recreation sites and trails on beaches, lakes, mountains, and meadows. Thanks to the mild climate and some winter huts, camping is possible year-round.

The Pacific Ocean runs along the length of BC, offering plenty of oceanside spots to explore. On Vancouver Island, Tofino and Pacific Rim National Park are famous for cold-water surfing, whale watching, and hot springs, while nearby Ucluelet is a fisher’s paradise. Further inland, campers can find riverside camping in Squamish; backcountry huts around the resort town of Whistler; and reservable tent pads overlooking the jewel-toned Joffre Lake. For a true off-the-grid experience, head to Haida Gwaii's Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve—set about 100 kilometres off the northern British Columbia coast, this area is only reachable by sea or air.

The northern part of the province is all raw, rugged beauty, with unique culture and untouched natural beauty. Soak in Canada’s second-largest hot spring in Fort Nelson, watch salmon spawning in the many rivers, and peek at bears catching some themselves at Kleanza Creek Provincial Park in Terrace. It is a working farm so will likely have various equipment around at times as well as workers at certain times of the year. You’ll likely meet our very friendly and very energetic Bernedoodle, Bernie. If you prefer to keep him out of your campsite just let us know and we can keep him closer. Otherwise, he thinks he has the run of the place! Please check to see if campfires are allowed (live in a high-risk fire zone) and firewood is available with an extra charge. If you need anything to better enjoy your stay, just let us know! Our property is located in Peachland, BC. We live in a little off-grid cabin deep in the Yalakom Valley in a small community of rustic-living and friendly folks. Please note that this property is located 40 km outside of Lillooet. Part of the road is a dirt road and a bit bumpy, best for cars that don't mind roughing it a little bit, and best for people who don't fear cliffs. You also lose service 5 minutes outside of Lillooet. The property is surrounded by one other large private lot on one side and some steep crown land on the other. You can explore our lot down to the river or you can drive to other locations like the Horseshoe (a great swim spot), Carpenter Lake (great for swimming, too), Lac La Mere (good for fishing), Carol Lake, and much more. All sites are located 150-200 feet away from our main house and share the same outhouse. However, it is unlikely for us to have more than one site booked the same time, so there is ample privacy. This is a multi-generational family property, also home to two friendly dogs, a one-eyed cat, and a lively bunch of chickens. You’ll be tucked away in a semi-private, flat gravel site bordered by fir trees, with easy access and plenty of turnaround space. Enjoy scenic walks right from your site—only 5 minutes to Elk Lake Beach for swimming, paddling, or casting a line, or head to Bear Hill Regional Park for a rewarding 20-minute hike through fir and arbutus forest with stunning views from the top. You’re also just 10 minutes from world-famous Butchart Gardens and the charming Butterfly Gardens along the way. Ideal for **1–2 night stays**, especially for couples or small groups (up to 4 people total) looking for a restful, nature-connected stop en route to Tofino or around the Island. I brought two friends who were first time visitors to Canada and they loved the whole experience! The cabin itself was small but very very cozy (3 adults & 1 dog), and waking up to a big window facing the forest was my favourite part. The washroom was very clean, and there were enough kitchen utensils for us to cook hotpot. It was close to a few good trails around cultus too. Really recommend this place for those who want to camp but want no hassle and a soft bed to sleep in :))

We absolutely loved this campground! 🥰 It’s incredibly cozy, comfortable, and has such a warm, homey atmosphere — definitely the kind of place you want to come back to again and again. We felt really bad that we accidentally broke the game net, but the hosts were very understanding about the situation, and we truly appreciate that ❤️ We hope we’ll still have a chance to come back again this season, although it will depend on the weather. But next year, we’ll definitely be back — and this time with our little baby! 🥰❤️ Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful and welcoming place and for the lovely experience!

Had an amazing stay at John and Michelles place. Beautiful location. RV was fully equipped with everything we needed. They were very kind and shared some vegetables from their home grown patch which were delicious, as well as checking in regularly that everything was ok and telling us about local spots to check out. The electric ferry was charming, very easy to catch back and forth with amazing views. The peace and quiet was just what we needed. We will be back for sure - Thank you John and Michelle!

Beautiful location! I loved the views overlooking the lake, the amenities, and how private yet close it was to town. I had the whole place to myself and a 10/10 sleep, even with the train nearby. Will definitely come here again if I'm ever back in Salmon Arm!

We had a great time at Aaron‘s Farm. There is plenty of space and beautiful nature surroundings including ponds with ducks. The campground is very private sites but within walking distance to the bakery, shops and restaurant. Aaron is very nice and responsive. We would definitely come back.
