Explore the natural beauty and rustic charm of Mudge Island while glamping in a comfortable well appointed 29ft trailer on 2.5 acres of private land. Mudge Island is one of the smallest islands among the Southern Gulf Islands in the Strait of Georgia. Hosts, Jia & Ric, have been living and working on their beautiful waterfront property for 5 years, building a work-in-progress hobby farm, zen gardens, orchards, and vineyard. Mudge Island and its surrounding waterways are home to bald eagles, herons, orcas, humpback whales, sea lions, and seals. We offer canoe and paddleboard rentals, as well as guided canoe paddling tours of Stuart Channel, False Narrows and Dodd Narrows, the scenic waterways surrounding Mudge Island. Ric, your host and guide, is very knowledgeable about the local history and marine life, having lived in this area for most of his life. While Ric will delight you with fables and legends about these parts, co-host Jia will delight your palate with delicious and healthy homecooked meals (should you wish to take a relaxing vacation without having to cook for yourself). Meals can be ordered as needed or for the entire duration of your stay. Order or pack your own picnic lunch and spend the day exploring one of several beaches, each unique and beautiful in their own way. With no commercial services available on this island, you will truly feel like you have escaped to the great outdoors. For those who want to remain "plugged in", internet service is available on site. Cell phone signals can be spotty or unavailable in some areas of the island, but there is a reliable signal on the property. This getaway is perfect for anyone who wants a nature retreat with an experience that can be tailored to one of complete self-reliance (where you do everything for yourself), or one of complete pampering in an "all inclusive" style vacation (you can even book a massage with our local RMT, subject to her availability).
