The cabin was awesome, very secluded and quiet, is a nice touch having all the cooking gear already there for you, the woodburning fireplace was great for keeping warm at night,
Would recommend packing light for the light hike to get there. Would highly recommended for anyone looking to get away from a few days

Was very easy to get to and was nice and spacious, could definitely fit multiple people. Had a cute little picnic table, an umbrella, and a fire pit along with a bit of firewood. As someone pretty disgusted with outhouses theirs was nice and clean. The dense trees and bushes added some decent privacy but the ground was nice and flat coming from someone who tented.
The sound of the highway right beside was a bit noisy at times and the site is a bit close to the house (Johanna’s) but that’s the only cons I can think of
Generally very good stay, Johanna was very polite and welcoming and it was a good site.

Great stay! The camp spot has nice privacy and is convenient to the center of Salmo. The sunshower was a bonus! I enjoyed my stay enough that I booked Johanna's place on my return trip as well.

Absolutely Spectacular Star-Gazing !
We loved staying at Johanna's campsite! This was our third time at For Rest Retreat. The private on site pit toilet was recently updated & we added firewood which was crackling like those tv fireplaces at Christmas time.

Keystone Cabin in The Kootenays
It was the best vacation I ever had! Loved the cabin, and the trails. Best of all I could spend the days with my dog as well.

We loved the cabin! It was easy to get to and felt like you were way out of town when we were actually so close to the brewery downtown. The cabin was well stoked for cooking and playing games, I can’t say enough how perfect this is for a little getaway!

This was our 2nd time at For Rest retreat, they added a small camping shower. The picnic table and umbrella were perfect.
Outhouse also nice and we enjoyed the secluded cove of trees and mountain view. Will be back next year!

Great tent campsite with a big swath of grassy open area where kids can play. Terrific little trail system easily accessible. A little bit close to the highway, but well sheltered for privacy.

We really enjoyed our stay. The camping area is tucked into the site in a way that made it feel very private. The unique outhouse was very clean. An adjacent open area gave us lots of room to play with our dogs and access to the trail system provided an opportunity for a very pleasant evening walk.

We the only ones there it was very peaceful place a lil road sound.. the out was clean and nice we were tired and chilled and slept almost the whole we were there overall would definitely recommend it

My stay at for-rest was without a doubt one of my best experiences camping. The hosts went above and beyond for me during my stay and would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

What an amazing stay we had at the For-rest Retreat cabin! The short .7KM walk from the parking area makes it feel like you’re really out in the woods. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking and cozying up by the wood stove fireplace at night. There were plenty of board games to keep us entertained but there’s cell signal as well if you don’t want to disconnect completely. There are also quite a few hiking trails on the property which were fun to explore. Our favorites were Sneaky Slabs and Ridge Line (lower). Can’t wait to come back!

Johanna's Keystone campsite is an easy accessible spot to spend the night. It is close to the hwy so expect some road noise during the day. The property is wooded and has walking trails on the hillside.

This was a great spot that was secluded from the other camp sites so there was plenty of privacy! Our lot was large and we had everything we needed. I especially like their policy on packing the food out, keeping the property free of garbage and less animal attraction to your site. Salmo is minutes away to discard garbage and can easily pick up more ice. The ground is close to rivers and the US border. We enjoyed our nature home away from home. Our hosts are super lovely and accommodating and quick with response if you had any inquiries or needed anything.

Such a great place to camp! The trails were exceptionally well mapped, and just gorgeous.
We happened to be there during a concert event, and we were welcomed to join - that was such an unexpected bonus! Local craft beer and wood fired pizza too! Just a wonderful few days.
The outhouse was fabulous, a great design, with no/minimal odours. The floor seems to be sagging a little bit, so beware!
We would love to come and camp here again, we absolutely loved Salmo.

A very private site that offers peace and solitude. We needed a place just like this to unwind from crossing Canada. Salmo is just down the road for groceries or a good coffee. Water is on site, great walking trails, and a beautiful sunrise every morning over the mountains. The Zen Garden set the vibe, this place is awesome.

Lived up to expectations, beautiful place with berries around. Nice privacy and a nice fire pit, toilet was especially awesome. A bit of mosquitos so remember mosquito spray and there was some noise from the road but didn't bother us

Cool little spot just outside of Salmo! We were able to take the trail for a short walk into town. The outhouse was very well built and clean!
