Site 10 - Beautiful Rainforest Camping Along the Cowichan River
Best campsite on the island! We have camped at almost every site and enjoyed them all. Love being right beside the river. Tons of trails and just an all round beautiful and fun place to camp!

Site 7 - Beautiful Rainforest Camping Along the Cowichan River
Location
What I liked the most was the fact that this campground is in the middle of the forest/nature and very close to the river. The well water is delicious.

Site 2 - Beautiful Rainforest Camping Along the Cowichan River
Not private but great location
Overall, it was a decent experience. However, I was a bit disappointed with the lack of privacy between the different sites. Moreover, the site I stayed at (Site 2) was situated on a cement platform that was not suitable for accommodating my car with a roof tent. On a positive note, the location of the site was favourable, with easy accessibility to the river. However, there was no supervision, and I did not meet the landowner. The neighbours frequently used their motorcycles, and fireworks were exploding throughout the day and night, which was quite bothersome for both me and my pet. I was looking for a place that offered peace and tranquillity and an opportunity to connect with nature, and I'm not sure if this was an appropriate location for that.

Site 6 - Beautiful Rainforest Camping Along the Cowichan River
Not quiet or relaxing
This was the worst camping experience of my life. I would not recommend this site to anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay. There were motor bikes doing laps around the property from the time we arrived at 5pm until 9pm. Once the motorbikes stopped, the music and partying started and went on until 1:30 in the morning. This is all in sharp contrast to “kicking back and enjoying nothing but the sound of water and birds” as advertised in the listing. If I had any other options for accommodations I would’ve left. Additionally, the site we booked could not be located because there was no real numbering system of note. I was embarrassed that I booked this place to camp for me and my friend. It would’ve been quieter next to the highway.
