At Bear Spring, 'retreat' means to withdraw into nature and reconnect with the natural world. If you're looking for an outdoor experience that you can enjoy with all comforts of home, this is the place. The guest suite (located in the farm house) and glamping sites are nestled in the Selkirk Mountains with stunning views of the Kootenay River below. Fall asleep to the soothing sound of crickets with gentle breezes caressing your face. Wake up to the sweet fragrance of cedar forests, enjoy a leisurely cup of fresh ground coffee onsite, taste food picked fresh from the guest gardens or explore our forest walking trails. Open year round, our guest suite, with private entrance, features three bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with soaker tub), a living area with kitchenette, private deck and BBQ. Beautifully appointed rooms are furnished with pillow top queen beds, organic cotton linens, and vintage decor. During the summer, guests have access to all the same comforts as our glamping guests. For a complete list of guest amenities check out our glamping accommodations. In winter, enjoy snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on well maintained trails right out your door. The kitchenette features a sink, mini-fridge, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, cookware, a convection toaster oven, a hot plate, and all the utensils and dishes needed to prepare and eat meals. The private deck includes a table, two chairs and a BBQ with side burner. The garden includes picnic table and umbrella are available for guest use, as is the communal fire pit area and other glamping amenities. Bear Spring Guest Suite (Entire Suite)

We stayed in the suite & it was amazing! Cooler in the summer - with a mini fridge, microwave, & bbq - all beside a lovely foraging garden space perfect for stargazing at night. “Camping” for those that want nature to come with a proper bathroom facility.

Beautiful Property

Bear Spring Guest Suite (Single Room)

Solita greeted me when I arrived and I noticed right away she was made for this job. Solita and her husband Burke were inviting and kind and made me feel at home. The pride they have in their property, shines through all the design details they have added. I stayed in the Clinton room in the suite above the main farm house. It was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated and planned out. In the evening I was invited for a fire, and was given a tour of the property. Their property is also attached to Dutch Girl Peonies, so I was able to walk through the garden. There is a great hike nearby, and the dogs Bella and Pepper are eager to accompany you! I would highly recommend this property to anyone!

Guest suite is sweeeet

Bear Spring Guest Suite (Single Room)

The Guest Suites were beautifully renovated and decorated with everything you could possibly need and more. Great views of the valley and trees from the windows made it feel like you were out in nature while cosy indoors. The soaker bathtub was also a real standout. Solita and Burke really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable welcome and even joined us for a fire one evening, we really enjoyed their company.

Bear Spring Guest Suite (Single Room)

I’ve stayed in both the glamping tents and the indoor guest suite, and both were fabulous! The site is peaceful and beautiful, and I felt right at home. Beds are super comfy, there are lovely personal touches and repurposed furniture, and the hosts are friendly and eager to share their plans. I’m excited to see the new changes. I’ll definitely be back!
