Site 1 - Mountain View Oasis ~ Hot Tub
Would not entirely recommend.
We give this site 2.5 out of 5. 1.5 for the hot tub and 1 for the full hook up. We stop there for two reasons: 1. Rules, rules rules. No lights from your RV, Travel Trailer, etc after it gets dark. We like playing cards, relaxing after sun goes down, but cannot. Reason given: people want to stargaze. However, floodlights from house and workroom and ground lights on property lit up the whole place. 2. no guests allowed. We would have enjoyed an evening dinner with friends, but no go. Michelle and Jeff nice people, but we felt we were under their watchful eyes most of the time. J. Goodrich

Site 2 - Mtn View Retreat ~ Palo Verde Site
It is a very clean and tidy little hobby farm in a rural desert community that feels far from the big city. I was there for a short overnight trip to test some camping equipment but it would have been pleasant to stay longer and take advantage of the amenities.

I loved camping/parking my van at Michele and Jeff’s place. Loved meeting their animals and learning more about their farm. The jacuzzi was also so relaxing and fun after a week hiking. Would recommend staying with them!

Mountain View Retreat with Hot Tub
Great view - No visitors allowed.
The spot was nice and the hosts were good. I was sad I was not allowed to bring my daughter (who lives in Phoenix) to our camp site to visit, which was the whole reason we traveled to Arizona. She lives in a small apartment with a roommate and it made visiting awkward. If I had known, we would not be allowed to have visitors, I would have went elsewhere. The space was quite. The no lights at night was kind of weird, but understandable. Otherwise, if you are looking for a quiet getaway near Phoenix, this is your spot. The hosts were very friendly.

Did not meet minimum expectations.
Host advised via text, "We're out visiting my parents so if you want to check in later that would work better for tonight." GPS navigation provided an ETA of 7:55 PM, but we did not arrive until 8:35 PM despite traveling directly to the host's property. Host texted, "Ugh! You told me 7:55." Negative tone and responses from host via text and upon arrival made us feel unwelcome. While we understand the aim to keep the area "dark sky" compliant, host wanted us to park our Winnebago camper van without using the headlights in the dark. Host should consider installing downward facing, low to the ground lights to aid in safe movement after nightfall. Listing states, "Campsite offers partial hook-up and is tucked away in a cluster of Palo Verde trees" but upon arrival we were directed to park directly in the roadway that is inside the property. Pictures on listing are lovely but do not accurately capture the tiny island next to area we were directed to park next to. We were advised we could use the small island with a metal table and chairs, with a view of the back side of the coop. This is nothing like what we anticipated based on the images in the listing. Be sure to read full set of extensive rules before booking. We chose to stay at a Cracker Barrel parking lot rather than be uncomfortable and remain at this hipcamp which would require that we depart by 10 AM. We requested that the host cancel the booking and that request was rejected.

Check this place out!
We stayed 2 nights in our camper van and had a wonderful peaceful experience. Michelle is super gracious, and has set up a lovely outdoor area to enjoy, get a fresh cup of coffee, and a night under the stars in the hot tub was a real treat. Nice to get out of the city! And our pups loved it too :)
