Mining city is a ghost town from the 1800’s. At its hight it had close to 10,000 people. According to the 1910 census. Currently less then 12 people live here. Unfortunately nothing much left to explore but the original one lane steel bridge, the original post office a few stone foundations can still be found and the cemetery. Oh and a few old mine shafts. No one can enter them so there safe!
We offer over a mile of hiking trails on a 138 acre working farm. (Cows, dairy goats, chickens, turkeys, etc.)

Beautiful, clean, and quiet.
This site was exactly what I was looking for. Isolated, clean, beautiful. The owner is gracious and helpful. We had the entire area to ourselves and it was absolutely perfect.
I joked with the owner that I kind of didn't want to leave a review because I wanted to keep the place a secret so I could have it all to myself again someday lol. But the place was too good, I have to give them a shout out. We had a great time and I would definitely stay there again.
Peaceful night on the lazy river
First off, the site was great. Right on the river, flat ground for the tent, & one of the best fire pits I’ve seen.
Secondly, as a multi-generational homesteader, our host was very knowledgeable about local flora & fauna, as well as places to go during our time on Kentucky.
I would definitely camp here again when in the area.
Night next to the green river
We had a great time staying the night on the Green River at Lazy J Farms. The campsite was very well kept, the fire pit was great, and the small touches like the wooden swing and fly traps are also nice additions that you might not expect. James offered us some homegrown vegetables he had that were ripe and also offered us fresh eggs as well. The river was basically at flood stage so we couldn’t really access it like we would have liked, but it was pretty nice just having it in the background. All in all we had a good time for sure.
