Cincinnati/Northern KY - Private, end-of-the gravel road ridgetop just beyond the suburbs and next door to rural.  This quiet getaway spot for families and friends is surrounded by steep, forested hillsides home to wildlife, birdlife, and some human life(!).

A great mini-getaway being only 25 min from Cinci & NKy river towns.  Welcoming to all looking for a little respite from the paved world. This is an easy, simple, beautiful spot to stay for a day or a few.

The 3 campsites are isolated from each other (see descriptions below). Each campsite outfitted with picnic table, fire ring, oil lantern, and a Welcome Kit (includes fire starting material, 3-4 pieces of split wood, and candle.) Additional firewood available onsite for purchase.

Common areas include walking trails, a single-track forested hike, and historic log home (if not rented - see our Away at Green Hill Private Shelter listing!). Shared outhouse is uniquely nice and centrally situated.

Our property is relatively quiet but not pristine. Human activities can be heard at various times and from various activities.

Nearby sites and activities include Rabbit Hash General Store, Big Bone Lick State Park, the Ohio River, nature preserves, disc golf, hiking, biking, boating, kayaking, fishing and historic sites. Also 15 minutes from grocery, gas, restaurants, and other civilized amenities.

Each registered guest will receive additional details via email upon booking.

Trampoline, hammock, and badminton available, no charge.

Site 2 - Gobblers Knob. Tent Camping Only. Secluded small hilltop surrounded by forest. Drive in available unless recent wet weather; then park and a 50' walk.

Site 3 - Secret Shady. Temporarily Closed for Restoration. Tent camping Only. Hidden along Full Moon Trail, beneath overhanging forest; faces the southern, steep forested hillside of the property. A view of the log house on the rise through the trees to the north. Drive in, unless very, very wet which would then make it an approximately 150' walk.

Beautiful place. Loved the outhouse, log house, and campsites. With leaves mostly gone, views were cool. Host was great too. Will be returning.

We LOVE Away at the Green. Our group is 4 families with children 1-7 years old. The trampoline, barn, and hikes are a perfect amount of entertainment for our 2 night stay. Teri is excellent at responding quickly and answering questions. The outhouse is very nice and well maintained. This was our 2nd time camping here and we are already planning our visit for next year. On the way home we stopped at Rabbit Hash and enjoyed the general store and lunch. Thanks for a relaxing weekend!

We lucked out with great weather in the middle of October and no other campers there so we had the place to our self. My son 13yo (nonverbal) loved the hammock and the trails were just enough to get a feel for it. The log cabin was super cool. We are going to try to ge storm friends with there kids to get Open Sky all together. Thanks Teri & Mike. They didn’t badger us or make us feel uncomfortable they provided the bucket/“starter kit”. Overall great couple of days.

Staying again at Teri's' place was so wonderful and relaxing, it was just what I needed. Myself and my dog walked the trails so many times, I feel that I know them by heart! The log cabin is such a wonderful place to begin and end each day. Teri is such a remarkable host that I could not ask for more. I am ready for trip #3!

We loved the well marked hiking paths! Well-maintained property. Enjoyed sitting back at the old cabin on the rocking chairs. Best out house ever, love the chandelier!

This was our first time using Hipcamp and we were very impressed. Teri was a great host. She had great communication throughout the whole process. There were several camp sites available, all of which were private and secluded. We will definitely be planning another trip soon!
